[00:00:05] Speaker A: This is rage rowdy racing with Caleb Conrady and Gawson Edwards. [00:00:10] Speaker B: What up going on? [00:00:15] Speaker C: It's not morning here, so I can't. [00:00:16] Speaker A: Say good morning, good afternoon, you slightly less beautiful people. [00:00:21] Speaker B: We're still drinking coffee, though. [00:00:23] Speaker C: I am drinking coffee. That is correct. [00:00:25] Speaker B: Wrecked. [00:00:25] Speaker A: As am I. I had made some and then I had a doctor's appointment, so I didn't even get to drink any before I went to it. I just went straight there, came back to a fresh pot of coffee and. [00:00:34] Speaker B: Now I'm drinking it. Printing off hotel receipts and talking with you about tire fall off. Hell yeah. Bristol racing craziness. Yeah. [00:00:48] Speaker D: I've been busy this week. We have some crazy schedules to where we can't. [00:00:53] Speaker C: So we always try for Monday. And then sometimes Monday just doesn't work. [00:00:58] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:01:01] Speaker A: The last ten days probably has been some of the craziest days of my. [00:01:05] Speaker B: Entire life in terms of number of. [00:01:08] Speaker A: Things stacked on top of each other, trying to do it all at the. [00:01:11] Speaker B: Same time between going out on the. [00:01:12] Speaker A: Road, kind of becoming a tour manager. [00:01:15] Speaker B: In the middle of it. [00:01:16] Speaker A: And then we went into contract on. [00:01:18] Speaker B: Our house on Friday. [00:01:19] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:01:20] Speaker A: So, yeah, we've had a huge week on my end, which is why we're not doing this on Monday. Dawson had the whole day cleared out. He had any time available and I was stuck at the house going through. [00:01:30] Speaker B: A home inspection and that took a. [00:01:33] Speaker A: Lot longer than I anticipated. So we weren't even able to make. [00:01:36] Speaker B: It happen on Monday. And it's just been go go since. And right after this is done, it's go, go again and we leave tonight. [00:01:43] Speaker D: But it's all good. [00:01:44] Speaker B: We're here. Yeah, I'm tired, but we're here. That's why I'm drinking coffee at. What is it, 11:00 still? [00:01:50] Speaker C: Hell yeah. At least you get a week off before. [00:01:56] Speaker D: Well, you get a week off, then. [00:01:57] Speaker C: It'S one week of full band, then you get another week, so. [00:02:00] Speaker A: Exactly. So really the schedule is going to kind of ease up on us a bit. But we've actually got ourselves a trip planned for next weekend. Obviously, we go out on the road. [00:02:10] Speaker B: This week to little town called Cleveland. [00:02:13] Speaker A: Mississippi, and then we go to Tuscaloosa and Oxford, Alabama. [00:02:17] Speaker B: So we're going to be all over. [00:02:18] Speaker A: The southeast this weekend. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Then once we're back, we have a. [00:02:21] Speaker A: Couple of days staying at home and. [00:02:23] Speaker B: Then we take off and we're going to around. [00:02:27] Speaker A: It's called Southport, but it's right around Wilmington. But if anybody's ever seen the movie. [00:02:31] Speaker B: Safe haven, it's an old Julianne Huff movie. [00:02:34] Speaker A: It's one of Allison's favorite movies. She's always wanted to go to this little town, as you can imagine, never. [00:02:39] Speaker D: Seen or heard of it. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:02:41] Speaker A: You haven't seen or heard of any movie I could ever name, but this. [00:02:44] Speaker B: Is one that I hadn't even heard of before her. So there's all these little fisheries and oceanside restaurants and everything. So we're going to go and stay. [00:02:56] Speaker A: In a hotel and spend a couple. [00:02:58] Speaker B: Of days out there and go see. [00:03:00] Speaker A: What there is to see and recreate the movie a little bit. She's always drunk to doing it. And so here we are, going to. [00:03:05] Speaker B: Make it happen on the fly. [00:03:08] Speaker E: We're flying. [00:03:09] Speaker B: There you go. [00:03:10] Speaker A: Thank goodness for American Airlines points. [00:03:12] Speaker B: And now that I get to book. [00:03:15] Speaker A: All the hotel rooms, sometimes they go in rewards accounts. And so you stack up some points. [00:03:20] Speaker B: Here and there and take advantage of them when you get them. Hell, yeah. [00:03:25] Speaker A: We're going to go do that. So I'll be watching the race. So we'll probably be home right before the race starts on Sunday. We come back at like 130. [00:03:32] Speaker B: So we'll be watching the race from here, though. [00:03:35] Speaker D: I had my weeks up until last. [00:03:38] Speaker C: Night, I had all my days and my weeks messed up. [00:03:41] Speaker D: I was thinking this weekend was Easter, and in my mind. [00:03:48] Speaker C: I know my schedule the week of Easter. Like, the rots I have. What's before Easter? [00:03:53] Speaker D: Easter. [00:03:54] Speaker C: And then I know the day after Easter is when rehearsals start. [00:03:57] Speaker D: So I've had in my mind, literally. [00:03:59] Speaker C: Until last night, me and Lindsay were. [00:04:01] Speaker D: Talking and she was like, what are you talking about? [00:04:04] Speaker C: You're like, ten days in advance on your dates here. [00:04:07] Speaker D: And I was like, what? [00:04:08] Speaker C: And I literally look at my phone. [00:04:09] Speaker D: And I'm like, it's the 20th. [00:04:12] Speaker C: We were talking last night. Like, talking about today. I was like, tomorrow, 20th. [00:04:17] Speaker D: If she listens to this, she'll laugh. [00:04:20] Speaker C: Because I was just so stressed out and confused about all these things that I was like, I have so much. [00:04:26] Speaker D: Shit to do in a couple days. [00:04:29] Speaker C: I was like, how did all this happen? And I was ten days off on. [00:04:33] Speaker D: My date, so that was super refreshing. [00:04:36] Speaker C: Last night, I was literally sitting on the couch, like, after we had eaten. [00:04:39] Speaker D: Supper, and I was like, oh. I just got, like, this. [00:04:45] Speaker C: Calmness kind of came over me. [00:04:48] Speaker D: Wow. [00:04:49] Speaker C: I actually have all this stuff to do, but I have, like, an extra ten days that I'm doing it all. [00:04:53] Speaker A: So it's not like that'll just take the load off right there, man. [00:04:57] Speaker B: I'll tell you what? [00:04:57] Speaker A: I don't know how I got that. [00:04:59] Speaker C: I mean, I was that messed up on days. I got the same exact thing was this weekend. [00:05:03] Speaker D: That's how I really had it that off. [00:05:05] Speaker A: Yeah, I've done the same exact thing. I keep thinking that this is the week that's following, but I'm still going out of town for trit shows, and I know that's coming because I've been advancing shows like a madman lately. [00:05:18] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:05:19] Speaker A: Either way, it's kept us busy, and that's why this episode's coming out a little bit later. [00:05:24] Speaker D: Yeah, we're crazy. [00:05:26] Speaker A: Yeah, it's getting around that time. Dawson, you're about to go back out on the road with us because we always do an acoustic run. Dawson stays home. I know we've talked about it before. [00:05:34] Speaker B: But we're about back to the full band stuff. [00:05:37] Speaker A: I actually just sent out my first big blast email to the band and. [00:05:40] Speaker B: Everybody describing rehearsal schedules. Yeah, we're almost there. [00:05:48] Speaker D: I've always kind of dreamed of all this. [00:05:53] Speaker C: Maybe not as in being touring, but. [00:05:56] Speaker D: Not the dream is to be the. [00:05:59] Speaker C: Artist of touring, obviously. [00:06:01] Speaker D: Yeah, but that dream of where you. [00:06:04] Speaker C: Get to write songs during the week and then you roll out on a Thursday and you get to play shows on Friday, Saturday. You take a couple of days to chill out, then you go back into it. [00:06:12] Speaker D: I've always dreamed about this schedule that I have coming up, and it's just like, I really am excited because it's cool, but hopefully one day I'll be singing the songs on the stage. Maybe. [00:06:26] Speaker A: Hell, yeah. [00:06:27] Speaker C: If not, it's cool to write songs. Maybe I can write some hit songs or something. [00:06:31] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:06:31] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:32] Speaker B: Well, you're in a good spot for it. [00:06:34] Speaker A: Out of all the places that we've been, this is probably the best one we found ourselves in in a while. [00:06:38] Speaker D: Yeah, man, we should do a podcast one day. [00:06:43] Speaker C: I was actually thinking about this. I know people on the surface that listen to this and see us now and everything, but we should do a. [00:06:51] Speaker D: Podcast on our platform. But racing is involved because racing has. [00:06:58] Speaker C: Always been involved in our friendship, literally since the beginning. So racing is involved in this, but. [00:07:03] Speaker D: A podcast about from the day we met to how we wound up to 2024. [00:07:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:07:11] Speaker C: Like all those eight years, all the highs, all the lows, all the mexican restaurants, all the races. [00:07:19] Speaker A: Basically, our friendship has been mexican restaurant, NASCAR races, either one or the other, constantly. The restaurants have changed, but the racing stayed the same. [00:07:29] Speaker C: The restaurants have changed because we have moved so much in our lives. But they're always mexican restaurants. [00:07:34] Speaker A: Man, I was cracking up because the lady that called me about servicing our. [00:07:37] Speaker B: Loan, she called and asked for our residential history, and I have it on. [00:07:43] Speaker A: A word document because it's not like something I can just remember off the top of my head because to go. [00:07:48] Speaker B: Into a two year history on that, I had to use four different places, including the place I'm currently living, to. [00:07:55] Speaker A: Get up to two years. And she was laughing by the end of it. She's like, y'all move more than anyone. [00:07:59] Speaker B: I've ever met because Allison was the same way. [00:08:02] Speaker C: You move more than anyone I know because you move, like, every year. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Pretty much. Pretty much. [00:08:06] Speaker C: Since I've known you, you've moved every single year. [00:08:09] Speaker A: And if this house goes through, that will not change because I will have moved once this year, once two times in the fall of 2023, the house fire. [00:08:19] Speaker B: 2023 because of the house fire, and then once before that, the year priors. [00:08:25] Speaker A: And then the year prior, and then. [00:08:26] Speaker B: The year prior and the year prior. [00:08:29] Speaker A: It's every single. [00:08:30] Speaker E: It really is. [00:08:31] Speaker B: There's always a good reason for it. [00:08:33] Speaker A: But I've moved Murphysboro eleven. Into Murfreesboro. Murfreesboro to Nashville. Nashville to another part of Nashville to Jolton, to this. [00:08:40] Speaker E: To that. [00:08:41] Speaker B: I am exhausted. [00:08:42] Speaker C: Yeah, I talked to. And this was years ago, Brinley Addington. I'm sure you know who he is. He actually told me one time. He was like, finally, and this is probably, like, 2019, we were writing and. [00:08:54] Speaker B: He was like, dude, I want to. [00:08:58] Speaker C: Say he went to Belmont. He'd been in town for, like, ten. [00:09:00] Speaker D: Years, and he actually got a PO. [00:09:03] Speaker C: Box instead of having his address because it changed so much. [00:09:07] Speaker D: And I was like, that is a great idea. [00:09:09] Speaker C: But how that conversation got started, he. [00:09:11] Speaker D: Was like, finally he might have bought. [00:09:14] Speaker C: A house or really was in a good renting situation, whatever. He was like, I finally found my. [00:09:19] Speaker D: Steady house I'm going to live in. [00:09:21] Speaker C: After ten years, so I'm getting rid of my PO box to actually have an address now from all the moving. [00:09:29] Speaker B: I should have done that. [00:09:30] Speaker C: I know, that's so smart. [00:09:32] Speaker A: I never even thought of that. [00:09:33] Speaker D: And I thought about, I've moved a. [00:09:37] Speaker C: Bunch in the last ten years, but nowhere near the amount of times you have. [00:09:41] Speaker A: I'm exhausted, man. This apartment that we're living in right now has nothing hanging on the walls but useful shelves. We just decided we're just done decorating these places until we finally buy something. [00:09:53] Speaker B: So hopefully we have something by the. [00:09:55] Speaker A: Middle of April that we can call our own and we'll actually have it decorated and it looked nice and I. [00:09:59] Speaker B: Won'T have to sit on my couch. [00:10:00] Speaker A: To do these podcasts anymore. [00:10:01] Speaker C: Yeah, you have an office or a. [00:10:03] Speaker B: Bedroom to do it in. [00:10:04] Speaker A: That's going to be awesome. [00:10:06] Speaker C: But yeah, one day we're going to go through and do a podcast. We're going to drink some beers. It'll be a nighttime thing and just. [00:10:12] Speaker D: Talk about our whole entire life, not. [00:10:16] Speaker C: Our whole life, just since like 20, 16, 17, whatever to today. [00:10:21] Speaker A: We'll have to find the off weekends during the Olympics later on this year and do that. [00:10:25] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it'd be really cool. [00:10:26] Speaker E: That. [00:10:32] Speaker C: We are definitely late to the party in the podcast NASCAR world. So pretty much whatever we say, you've. [00:10:38] Speaker D: Probably already heard on all of your other favorite podcasts, but it's like, it was such an awesome race, such they. [00:10:46] Speaker A: Haven'T heard of fans perspective. [00:10:48] Speaker B: That's a good. [00:10:50] Speaker C: So much to dissect and talk about. It was like, I mean, we got to do. It's. It's Bristol, so you got to do it. [00:10:57] Speaker A: This was, baby. Yeah, yeah. [00:11:00] Speaker C: I love TJ major saying that. He was like, if they leave this. [00:11:04] Speaker D: The same and come back for the. [00:11:07] Speaker C: Second race in the fall, the night. [00:11:09] Speaker D: Race, the big one, he's like, you can say it's Bristol, baby again. The last ten years have been not, it's Bristol, baby. [00:11:20] Speaker A: And then this ends up being one of the most surprising and competitive and difficult Bristol races that I have personally ever seen. Because I have only seen Bristol in. [00:11:31] Speaker B: The Bristol is good, but it's not. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Quite as fun as it used to be. [00:11:35] Speaker E: Era. [00:11:36] Speaker C: Even when we were going, like, when you went to Bristol, you've went to Bristol quite a few times. You took me twice. [00:11:42] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:11:42] Speaker D: Oh, I thought it was way more than twice. But me and you went in 20. [00:11:48] Speaker C: 16, 17 juniors last season. [00:11:51] Speaker D: Juniors last season. [00:11:52] Speaker C: We watched juniors. [00:11:53] Speaker A: Thank you, Dale. We were in thing that they did. We were holding up one of the red cards. [00:11:59] Speaker D: I still have that card folded up in my truck console from like that. [00:12:04] Speaker B: I'm pretty sure. [00:12:06] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm pretty sure I still have it. I think it's in my nightstand somewhere. [00:12:10] Speaker D: Yeah, but we were there for that. [00:12:12] Speaker C: I remember the car, the ducks unlimited, the orange and black, had the duck on it all. [00:12:17] Speaker D: Yep. [00:12:18] Speaker A: I've still got the diecast. It's covered in soot right now, but. [00:12:20] Speaker C: I've got so, like, even then, like. [00:12:23] Speaker D: Bristol, it wasn't what we yesterday Sunday, we have gotten. [00:12:36] Speaker C: Let's see, I guess accustomed to the. [00:12:39] Speaker D: Recent NASCAR, and I love the other. [00:12:43] Speaker C: Night, me and Caleb sat down and. [00:12:44] Speaker D: Watched the homestead 2004 race after his birthday. And, man, it was so refreshing. [00:12:53] Speaker C: One for me just to see it, because something like that, I'm just so accustomed to what we've been used to. [00:12:58] Speaker D: And you watching it and being like, holy shit. [00:13:03] Speaker C: Like, they pass and they blow tires and they get loose and they wreck. [00:13:07] Speaker D: And all those things that happen, even all the way down to, like, a practice or a qualifying session. [00:13:16] Speaker C: I remember back in the day, but. [00:13:17] Speaker D: I saw all these posts about how. [00:13:20] Speaker C: Awesome the qualifying session was, and then you told me, I didn't see any of that, but you told me about it, and we went and ate breakfast. [00:13:25] Speaker D: The other day, and I was like, this sounds incredible. [00:13:28] Speaker C: I thought it sounded cool. [00:13:30] Speaker D: And back in the day, dude, there was it one, if not multiple wrecks. [00:13:35] Speaker C: During qualifying back in the day. [00:13:37] Speaker D: And even something that small, like just. [00:13:39] Speaker C: From a guy going out and going absolutely balls to the walls. [00:13:43] Speaker D: We haven't seen that in so long. [00:13:47] Speaker A: Because of the way the cars are. [00:13:50] Speaker C: Whether it be horsepower or tires or. [00:13:52] Speaker D: What package, whatever, it's just like, it. [00:13:56] Speaker C: Hasn'T been the same. So we've gotten accustomed to this new NASCAR, quote, unquote. And I got to thinking after watching some of this old stuff, and especially. [00:14:04] Speaker D: This week, people showing all these old videos, and I mean, like 20 years. [00:14:08] Speaker C: Old, not even 30 and 40 years old, like eighty s and ninety s. [00:14:11] Speaker D: Like literally early 2000s stuff that I was, like, growing up on. [00:14:16] Speaker C: And even looking back, like the race. [00:14:20] Speaker D: Sunday, in those races, back in the day, the tire wear, every caution, they're. [00:14:26] Speaker C: Showing the tires, recording all the stuff. [00:14:29] Speaker D: I was like, almost like, I am not surprised that NASCAR dipped in viewership so bad. [00:14:38] Speaker C: It has gotten so far away from. [00:14:40] Speaker D: What it was that now you go. [00:14:43] Speaker C: Back and see it and you see what's happened this year. This season has been one of the best starts NASCAR has had. [00:14:49] Speaker B: Dude, seriously. [00:14:50] Speaker C: Since early 2000s, probably. [00:14:53] Speaker D: Yes. No kidding. And it's like, I haven't been this. I'm always pumped up. [00:14:58] Speaker B: I mean, I eat, sleep, and breathe. [00:15:00] Speaker C: NASCAR, so that's what has kept me around. [00:15:03] Speaker D: But you can see how all these. [00:15:07] Speaker C: New people that have come in and having a season to start out like we have before. [00:15:13] Speaker D: If you came into NASCAR this year. [00:15:15] Speaker C: Because of Netflix or the Crocs or whatever it may be, that got you. [00:15:19] Speaker D: Watching because people are watching. Even Bristol was up 10% on viewership. [00:15:24] Speaker C: We were 200,000 away from 4 million. [00:15:27] Speaker D: Again to start the season off at. [00:15:28] Speaker C: 4 million plus every single race. [00:15:31] Speaker D: Last season, there was only four races. [00:15:34] Speaker C: With 4 million plus viewers. This year, the season started with four races with 4 million plus. [00:15:39] Speaker A: And then Bristol had three points, barely missed the five. [00:15:42] Speaker C: Yep. And so if you can see that. [00:15:45] Speaker D: Now, these people, they're probably hooked. [00:15:48] Speaker C: And last year, the year before, last year before that, and I feel like. [00:15:52] Speaker D: We kind of talked about this missing. [00:15:55] Speaker C: The mark or coming in. I think you said specifically, if this Netflix series happens last year, the year before last, you watch first couple of races, you're probably out after the second. [00:16:05] Speaker D: 1St, or second one. [00:16:06] Speaker A: It's hard to hold your attention when you ain't having great finishes. And this race in particular, with the. [00:16:13] Speaker B: Way that it played out, it wasn't. [00:16:16] Speaker A: Even that I was comparing it or trying to do anything to it other than watch it, because in the moment, I was just so flabbergasted. It was so funny. [00:16:24] Speaker B: Everybody talks about in stage one, everybody panicked. [00:16:27] Speaker A: And I think that's actually a little bit true. Everybody was like, oh, crap, are we going to have enough tires to get. [00:16:31] Speaker B: To the end of the race? [00:16:33] Speaker A: Can we manage this? [00:16:34] Speaker B: These tires were out within 30 laps. [00:16:36] Speaker A: Next thing you know, they're figuring it out. They're running a little slower, they're running off throttle a lot more because they. [00:16:42] Speaker B: Realize if we want to win this. [00:16:44] Speaker A: Race, we're going to have to manage. [00:16:45] Speaker B: Our tires better as a driver. [00:16:48] Speaker A: And so you see the experience of the guys that have done that before. [00:16:51] Speaker B: Back in the day, your Denny's, your. [00:16:53] Speaker A: True X's, and your Keslowski's running up. [00:16:56] Speaker B: Front and finishing one, two, three. [00:16:59] Speaker A: And it was a lot of fun to watch it. [00:17:01] Speaker B: But I was in genuine anxiety, the. [00:17:05] Speaker A: Entirety of stage three after that green. [00:17:07] Speaker B: Flag pit stop cycle happened, because you're watching, knowing that at any moment, those. [00:17:13] Speaker A: Guys are going to have major issues. [00:17:15] Speaker B: With either the right front or right rear. [00:17:18] Speaker A: And you don't know when it's coming, you don't know if it's coming. And they're having to dodge traffic and. [00:17:23] Speaker B: Do all these crazy moves and gas. [00:17:25] Speaker A: It up and then break it down and then move to the left and. [00:17:28] Speaker B: Then move to the right, all while. [00:17:30] Speaker A: They'Re racing each other around, all these lap cars that don't want to go. [00:17:33] Speaker B: An extra lap down. It created a situation that no one predicted that Goodyear didn't even necessarily want. [00:17:43] Speaker A: But that the fans absolutely loved from beginning to end. Because at first, I won't lie, I. [00:17:49] Speaker B: Was a little bit hesitant to jump on the. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh, this is amazing. [00:17:53] Speaker B: Train because I could have seen it jump into a shit show scenario. [00:18:00] Speaker A: But after about the middle of stage two, I realized, we're going to make it. [00:18:04] Speaker B: It's going to be fine. [00:18:05] Speaker A: But holy crap, I was able to just let that go. And now I'm just watching this awesome race, and Allison's sitting next to me, and Truex is about to pass for. [00:18:13] Speaker B: The lead constantly throughout that last stage. And so I was in just full. [00:18:18] Speaker A: Anxiety mode of, are they even going. [00:18:20] Speaker B: To be able to finish this damn thing? It was so much fun. [00:18:24] Speaker A: Whether or not it was like, old school, whether it was too much, whether it was too little. I had a shitload of fun watching. [00:18:30] Speaker B: This race, and I think everybody said it enough. [00:18:32] Speaker A: All these guys that actually know what they're talking about, your Dale Jrs, Denny. [00:18:35] Speaker B: Hamlins, they've said you give the same. [00:18:38] Speaker A: Exact scenario to the teams, but let them know that it's coming beforehand. They would have ran 80 to 90 laps on those tires. It would have been just one of. [00:18:45] Speaker C: The best races of all time. It already was incredible. But you take that exact thing, and. [00:18:52] Speaker D: I was already thinking this, but now. [00:18:55] Speaker C: It'S been said multiple times, so it's like not new news. But you are correct. You take that exact same tire to Bristol, or you take that exact same tire to Martinsville, Richmond, wherever. [00:19:05] Speaker D: I guarantee you they run almost 100 laps on a set of tires. [00:19:10] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's perfect. [00:19:12] Speaker D: Yeah. Just from the drivers figuring it out, just from the crews and the engineers. [00:19:17] Speaker C: Being a little less aggressive on this. [00:19:19] Speaker D: That and the other. [00:19:23] Speaker C: It would be just fine. Literally, the way it is, it would be just fine. I have always said what sells tickets for the plate races has always been the uncertainty. [00:19:34] Speaker D: And you literally never know every 100. [00:19:38] Speaker C: Yards that go by, what is going. [00:19:39] Speaker D: To happen after now looking at people posting all this old stuff back in the day. [00:19:47] Speaker C: And like I said, I'm not even talking about eighty s, ninety s. I'm talking about, like, back in the day. [00:19:51] Speaker D: When I was a kid, that's almost how every race was, which was what. [00:19:56] Speaker C: Made it so freaking cool. How like a guy, like a Joe Nemachek, Randy Lajoy, Scott Wimmer. The unsponsored Scott Wimmer beaten Dale Jr. At a race to win a cup race to win, stuff like that back. [00:20:11] Speaker D: In the day that went away. [00:20:13] Speaker C: And to see guys like Justin Haley and Kazgrala both having the best average running position for two Rick Ware cars. [00:20:22] Speaker D: Ever, it brought all of that back in and the uncertainty. [00:20:26] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure that's what sold tickets. [00:20:28] Speaker D: Back in the day, we have gotten so used to just the same thing happening every week. [00:20:35] Speaker C: We hear about the package every week. We hear about arrow every week. It's the same kind of guys winning. And we do have parity, don't get me wrong. There's been five races, five different winners. And just last year, the first year, the next year, there's like 19 winners. [00:20:49] Speaker D: Like, literally half the field. So I'm not saying the same guy wins every week, but the same type of races happen every single week. [00:21:00] Speaker C: And it's been that way for so long that if they can bring it. [00:21:04] Speaker D: Back to, holy shit, I don't know what's coming next. People are going to enjoy that. [00:21:10] Speaker A: And I'm not. I don't know what's coming next. I've proved it with the fact that. [00:21:14] Speaker B: I tweeted the Christopher Bell tweet last week. [00:21:17] Speaker A: This week I made a joke about that. I posted fa. I'm trying something here. [00:21:21] Speaker B: Bear with me. [00:21:22] Speaker A: If you think this is going to be a good race, you're a clown. [00:21:24] Speaker D: I mean, we had low expectations, me. [00:21:27] Speaker C: And you, from the podcast previous we had, we did. Not just me and you, everyone had. [00:21:32] Speaker D: Low expectations about what Bristol was going to be. [00:21:35] Speaker A: And I wanted to be wrong. And I'm so glad the hell out of it. [00:21:40] Speaker D: We were awesome. [00:21:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Our first inkling that something different was. [00:21:44] Speaker A: Coming was watching practice and qualifying. I had woken up that early on. [00:21:49] Speaker B: That Sunday morning, excuse me, and went. [00:21:53] Speaker A: To take a shower. So I threw on YouTube TV, I was going to watch the truck race, and I realized they were re airing practice and qualifying. So I threw that on, and I was just watching it as if I. [00:22:03] Speaker B: Was watching it live the first time and just watching how the difference between. [00:22:10] Speaker A: Practice one and practice two was so off, with Harrison Burton being the best runner in practice two. And he was down in like, what. [00:22:16] Speaker B: 17Th compared to everybody else in practice one. [00:22:20] Speaker A: Going out there for qualifying guys slipping. [00:22:23] Speaker B: And sliding, the amount of marbling that was just caked on the top of the track. [00:22:28] Speaker A: I was like, this is weird. [00:22:30] Speaker B: It's like they don't have grip. [00:22:33] Speaker A: Like no mechanical grip at all. [00:22:35] Speaker B: Their tires were just on top of the racetrack. They were sliding around. You drove it too hard into the corners, and that resin would get you slipping and sliding. You knew right then this is going. [00:22:47] Speaker A: To be some kind of different race, and I don't know what it was. I didn't know what it was going to be. But the moment you watch practice or. [00:22:53] Speaker B: Qualifying, you knew this wasn't going to be what we've gotten used to at Bristol. So to see them come out there and race as hard as they did. [00:23:02] Speaker A: At the beginning and start blowing tires. [00:23:03] Speaker B: And cording tires, people just dropping, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin dropping back, wrecking their equipment almost into the wall, it. [00:23:11] Speaker A: Just immediately gave you this sense of like, we're seeing something special here, something. [00:23:15] Speaker B: Different is going on. [00:23:17] Speaker A: It could be really good or it could be really bad. And we got really lucky that it. [00:23:20] Speaker B: Was a great race and all the. [00:23:23] Speaker A: Way top to bottom. [00:23:24] Speaker B: I hope that we can recreate that. I hope that goodyear and NASCAR look at the numbers. See that? [00:23:30] Speaker A: There was a lot of people watching. Jeff Gluck's poll was at what, like an 87 80. [00:23:37] Speaker B: It ended up being a very popular race, and I really hope that they don't freak out. [00:23:43] Speaker C: I don't want to take a lot of that away. [00:23:46] Speaker A: Yeah, because if you look at what the fans are like, just pay attention to the damn fans for once and look at what we're saying. We're saying we loved this. We understand that maybe there's a little bit of an adjustment that needs to. [00:23:57] Speaker B: Be made here, and we're okay with small adjustment to this to make sure that everybody's on the same page when we go back. But please do not send us back. [00:24:07] Speaker A: To what we used to have, because. [00:24:08] Speaker B: This was a lot of fun. [00:24:10] Speaker A: I don't care that Denny Hamlin won. I may not be a Denny Hamlin. [00:24:14] Speaker B: Fan, but he gave us an entertaining. [00:24:16] Speaker A: Race for the win with that battle with Truex. [00:24:18] Speaker B: The entire time watching two drivers that knew how to manage their equipment that well, running that long on those tires. [00:24:27] Speaker A: That weren't even supposed to last nearly. [00:24:30] Speaker B: The amount that they ran on them. [00:24:32] Speaker A: No cautions at the last green flag. [00:24:34] Speaker B: Pit stop, everybody pitted, everybody came back out. You just can't write that. You can't predict that, and you can't see that coming. [00:24:43] Speaker A: And I'm so glad that we went. [00:24:45] Speaker B: Into this completely blind and everybody got waylaid by it. [00:24:48] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, same. [00:24:51] Speaker B: It was great. [00:24:52] Speaker D: And there's a reason why back in. [00:24:56] Speaker C: The day, that 40 year old drivers won every race. I do not think it's a coincidence that the three oldest drivers in the. [00:25:07] Speaker D: Field finish one, two, three. [00:25:08] Speaker C: By no means. [00:25:09] Speaker D: All of those guys raced those race. [00:25:12] Speaker C: Cars back in the day. All of those guys had the most experience. And it was kind of funny to hear Denny and some of the guys that he talked about that. [00:25:21] Speaker D: It was just like, I'm going to run this pace. [00:25:24] Speaker C: And I had guys, like, beating my back bumper off. And, like, Ty Gibbs was when he was talking about. [00:25:29] Speaker B: He was like, go. [00:25:30] Speaker D: Like, if you want to go, go. [00:25:31] Speaker C: And then he was like, in 15 laps, I'm blowing their doors off because their tires are gone and mine are. [00:25:36] Speaker D: Still got plenty of grip to do what I need to do. [00:25:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:40] Speaker E: And. [00:25:43] Speaker B: Golly, I just sound like an. [00:25:44] Speaker C: Old, crotchety old man. I know, but it's just like, that's what it was, and. [00:25:52] Speaker B: That was what. [00:25:53] Speaker C: Made it so cool, I think, back in the day. And now that you get older and. [00:25:56] Speaker D: You see this stuff and you kind of look back at it from the wider frame, from what we've been with in the last few years, it's like, wow, we got accustomed to some lame stuff. That just is what it is. But I'm just saying, man, if they bring that kind of racing and put. [00:26:20] Speaker C: It in the driver's hands, you didn't. [00:26:23] Speaker D: Hear one person yesterday Sunday talk about the package or air or not being able to pass or anything. Or horsepower. So if they fix the tire, who cares about horsepower? [00:26:35] Speaker C: This whole horsepower conversation has been so they can blow the back tires off. [00:26:39] Speaker D: And cause tire wear. [00:26:40] Speaker C: Because the tires are as hard as. [00:26:42] Speaker D: This table right here that this computer is sitting on. And you just don't tire wear. And off throttle time makes for good racing. [00:26:51] Speaker B: It does. [00:26:52] Speaker A: And however you accomplish that, be it having a tire that did not activate to the track, because that's kind of the prediction. [00:27:00] Speaker B: The weird part is, if you didn't. [00:27:02] Speaker A: Dig into it, the tire is the same exact one that they brought to. [00:27:06] Speaker B: The track last year. [00:27:07] Speaker A: So there's nothing technically what's supposed to be different. The only difference was it was a new batch of the same tire. [00:27:13] Speaker C: I just love that Denny Hamlin's like, I do not believe that he is. [00:27:16] Speaker A: So funny to hear him say he was trying to figure it out. And that's the problem, is if it's. [00:27:21] Speaker B: The same tire, maybe it was because the track was a little cooler. [00:27:25] Speaker A: But it just seems funny to me. [00:27:27] Speaker B: That they weren't able to predict something like that happening. [00:27:30] Speaker A: But who knows what the exact reason was? Was it a track temperature issue? Was it a tire compound issue that maybe somebody mixed it incorrectly and they. [00:27:37] Speaker B: Put the wrong amount of something in. [00:27:39] Speaker A: There to make a tire wear faster. [00:27:41] Speaker B: Which is something they can do. [00:27:45] Speaker A: Did they spray it with simple green before they went in? Like, who knows? [00:27:48] Speaker B: That's an old school dirt track trick. [00:27:51] Speaker A: I saw on the Internet the other day. [00:27:52] Speaker C: Who knows what they used to do. [00:27:53] Speaker D: That to go cart tires back in the day. [00:27:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:55] Speaker B: Stop them up a little bit. But that's the thing is, we don't. [00:28:00] Speaker A: Know exactly why it happened. And I hope that they do a. [00:28:03] Speaker B: Whole lot of testing and to figure out, okay, if this is what caused this to happen, let's do it again. [00:28:10] Speaker A: Figure out how we can make it. [00:28:11] Speaker B: Happen again in the fall. Because if that is a playoff race. [00:28:15] Speaker A: Dude, I'm on the edge of my seat the whole time. Make that a playoff cut off race. [00:28:19] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:28:20] Speaker B: That'll get 5 million viewers guaranteed. [00:28:23] Speaker A: That'll have the stands filled up. That'll have people showing up out of. [00:28:26] Speaker B: The woodwork to come watch this race. Exactly. [00:28:30] Speaker A: Man, it really turned into a show we didn't expect. [00:28:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:34] Speaker C: And I also want to put this. [00:28:36] Speaker D: Out there for anyone that said, and people said it to me, like talking about the stands at Bristol. [00:28:44] Speaker C: Let me just say the stands at. [00:28:45] Speaker D: Bristol, there is nowhere else in the. [00:28:48] Speaker C: United States of America that holds more. [00:28:50] Speaker D: People in a stadium, quote unquote, than Bristol, Tennessee. [00:28:54] Speaker C: If Bristol, Tennessee is half sold out, which it was more than half sold out. If it is half sold out, it is literally more than any NFL football game. [00:29:04] Speaker D: You're going to an NFL football game? [00:29:08] Speaker A: Yeah, that is. Just put that out there, scale of it. When you go there, you fully understand how big it may be. [00:29:15] Speaker B: A short track, but they call it. [00:29:18] Speaker A: A coliseum for a freaking reason. [00:29:20] Speaker B: It is rung all the way around the racetrack with seats and stands. [00:29:25] Speaker A: It would take a monumental occasion to. [00:29:29] Speaker B: Fill that entire place up. [00:29:31] Speaker A: It used to happen on the regular, I get that. [00:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah. But nowadays, what is it, like 100. [00:29:36] Speaker A: And 6170 thousand people? [00:29:41] Speaker C: I saw someone say 146. I've heard so many different numbers, I don't really know. But I do know it is the biggest one in the United States of America for a stadium filled with people. [00:29:52] Speaker D: There's nowhere else that has that capacity anywhere. [00:29:56] Speaker A: I'm looking it up right now. [00:29:57] Speaker B: Just so we have an exact number. [00:29:59] Speaker A: To my speedway has a capacity in 2021 of 146,000, but it used to. [00:30:06] Speaker B: Have 160 at its peak. [00:30:08] Speaker A: 162,000. So imagine an event bringing 162,000 people to one of the smallest towns in. [00:30:15] Speaker B: America and filling that sucker up. [00:30:17] Speaker D: Yes. And I saw Bristol did kind of. [00:30:24] Speaker C: What Atlanta has done, where they have taken some of the seats and made. [00:30:28] Speaker D: Those bar row things in front of. [00:30:31] Speaker C: You where you have extra room and all that look, which is awesome. I'm so here for that. You're not going to have a football. [00:30:39] Speaker D: Game that has 162,000 people at it. [00:30:42] Speaker A: Not without it being in the playoffs or Super Bowl. [00:30:45] Speaker B: A Super bowl. [00:30:46] Speaker D: And I actually thought it was so. [00:30:48] Speaker C: Cool that someone on Dorburn proclear was talking about, it's like the greatest place. [00:30:53] Speaker D: To have a Super bowl would be at Bristol. [00:30:56] Speaker C: But Bristol doesn't have the infrastructure, the town. There's no hotels. [00:31:02] Speaker D: There's nowhere to put that many people around. [00:31:05] Speaker C: That's why in NASCar, they talk about. That's why you bring a camper. That's why camping at Bristol was such. [00:31:10] Speaker D: A huge thing for all those years, is because you don't go to a hotel. There's no hotel to go. [00:31:20] Speaker A: And it took us an hour and a half leaving the track to get to our hotel that was like 5. [00:31:25] Speaker C: Miles away, and it was expensive. And that's a hotel that normally on a normal night would cost like $50. That cost. [00:31:31] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a 500 room with some mold in it. [00:31:34] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:31:37] Speaker B: We won't name it. [00:31:42] Speaker C: It was Virginia Tech, Tennessee game that happened one time at Bristol back in, I think it was around like, 2017, something like that. And they did. It's the biggest attended college football game ever in history. So all that to say a half full Bristol is literally bigger than any. [00:32:01] Speaker D: NFL stadium out there, and it was. [00:32:03] Speaker A: Over half fans not being full. I guarantee you they sold a bunch of tickets. [00:32:11] Speaker C: Yes. And I was actually looking at some. [00:32:14] Speaker D: Onboard cameras, just the ones that get. [00:32:17] Speaker C: Posted throughout after a race that just. [00:32:20] Speaker D: Will have the in car audio that. [00:32:22] Speaker C: Every car has over on the right hand side of their car. And looking up from the driver's standpoint. [00:32:30] Speaker B: The stands look full. [00:32:32] Speaker C: I mean, they look completely full. [00:32:33] Speaker D: So I don't know. [00:32:35] Speaker C: I'm just sick of that whole argument. [00:32:37] Speaker D: Really, that. [00:32:40] Speaker C: It was half sold or whatever. It's like, yeah, that's more than that. [00:32:45] Speaker D: Are going to a Patriots game or. [00:32:46] Speaker C: A Chiefs game or whatever, and don't. [00:32:49] Speaker A: Brag about North Wilkesboro being sold out for the all star race when all of a sudden you go back and you realize that Bristol sold more tickets in general. [00:32:56] Speaker D: Yeah. And I have said, like, if taking. [00:33:01] Speaker C: Some stands out makes it look more full, I'm here for that. That's why Talladega doesn't have the back stretch. Daytona doesn't have the back stretch. That's why Texas took away all of their seating. Not all of it, but a lot of it. [00:33:16] Speaker D: It looks better to have if 25,000 show up and there's 200,000 seats, it's like, well, this looks like no one's here. [00:33:25] Speaker A: Take the energy away from the crowd that's there too. [00:33:28] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [00:33:28] Speaker C: But you go to Wilkesboro and there's 25,000 seats and every single one of. [00:33:32] Speaker D: Them are packed and fired up and everybody's right up. [00:33:36] Speaker C: It's a different energy, same thing for an artist. Like playing an arena, having a full arena and only selling half the tickets. It's like that's why people move stages. [00:33:47] Speaker D: Up to make it look more full. [00:33:49] Speaker B: That's just part of it. [00:33:51] Speaker C: You don't want to go out and play. Even if it is 5000 people. You'd rather play to 5000 people in a 5000 seat room than 5000 people. [00:33:59] Speaker D: In a 10,000 seat room. [00:34:00] Speaker B: Without a doubt. [00:34:02] Speaker A: I'm with you on that. It's just tough because those stands are so iconic and they're very built in. Nothing's temporary around there. It's all permanently attached seating and all. Maybe investment to take them out more. [00:34:15] Speaker B: Than just like covering them up with. [00:34:17] Speaker A: Advertisements and all that, which I know has become a popular thing in NASCAR to do. [00:34:22] Speaker C: I feel like every fan that's like. [00:34:24] Speaker D: Over 40 every week has something to. [00:34:27] Speaker C: Say about the stands and I'm just. [00:34:28] Speaker B: Like, yeah, it gets old after beat a dead horse for real. [00:34:34] Speaker A: So when it came to the race. [00:34:36] Speaker B: You saw a lot of slip and. [00:34:40] Speaker A: Sliding, a lot of moving up, moving down, kind of dodging these lap cars. The one thing that I heard a. [00:34:46] Speaker B: Lot from the drivers is we had fun. [00:34:49] Speaker A: The drivers had fun last weekend. They really enjoyed it. [00:34:54] Speaker B: Especially, obviously, Denny and Martin and all the other Joe Gibbs guys. [00:34:59] Speaker A: Those guys came out in rocket ships. [00:35:00] Speaker B: Running 1234 a majority of the race. [00:35:04] Speaker A: And you notice that the two guys with the least experience are the ones that fell off at the end. They finished in 9th and 10th. [00:35:09] Speaker B: Still, every Joe Gibbs racing car was in the top ten. So that was a huge showing for them. [00:35:17] Speaker A: Toyota's definitely needed its moment in the. [00:35:19] Speaker B: Sun this year and they finally got it. [00:35:21] Speaker A: And I don't know what made them. [00:35:22] Speaker B: So good at this track, but definitely something to watch out for, especially when. [00:35:28] Speaker A: We go back to Dover and any other racetracks that are kind of like this. [00:35:32] Speaker D: I think even proven last week with. [00:35:35] Speaker C: The Toyotas, it's like something about these smaller tracks. They have got it figured out. I mean, they're lightning fast. [00:35:42] Speaker A: Yeah, they always said that they have. [00:35:44] Speaker B: A good balance between horsepower and aero, downforce, sleekness and drag, basically. [00:35:50] Speaker A: So maybe this is something that really plays into their wheelhouse. They don't have the fastest cars, they don't have the most aerodynamic cars. But on these tracks where you kind. [00:35:58] Speaker B: Of need a little bit of both they tend to shine. [00:36:01] Speaker A: So it's a lot of fun to. [00:36:02] Speaker B: Watch them have these huge races. Now. [00:36:05] Speaker A: When we go to Richmond next week. [00:36:07] Speaker B: I would say, yeah, what track are. [00:36:09] Speaker A: We going to next week before I. [00:36:10] Speaker D: Get next week, Richmond's next. [00:36:13] Speaker B: I don't know why in my head. [00:36:14] Speaker A: Richmond just skipped Koda maybe it's because I'm just kind of dreading going to a road course in this car, but Toyotas are about to have a good sprint Koda. They're going to do really good at. I mean, they had all that speed. [00:36:26] Speaker B: Last year with Reddick going into Richmond. [00:36:29] Speaker A: They're always fast at Richmond. So Toyota is hitting a strong point. [00:36:32] Speaker B: In their schedule right now. [00:36:33] Speaker A: So definitely people to watch out for. [00:36:35] Speaker B: If you're betting. [00:36:36] Speaker A: I would look towards your Joe Gibbs. [00:36:38] Speaker B: Guys, especially Hamlin and Truex. They're just going to be going lightning. [00:36:43] Speaker A: Quick around these upcoming racetracks. [00:36:45] Speaker D: I'm pretty sure Hamlin got the poly last year. [00:36:51] Speaker B: I think you're right. [00:36:52] Speaker D: And Reddick started second, and then he. [00:36:54] Speaker A: Ended up dominating that race all the way from beginning to a. We definitely have a Toyota strong schedule. [00:37:02] Speaker B: In the works for them, but they. [00:37:04] Speaker A: Came out at Bristol and just rocketed away from everybody. It seemed like they had the most balance in their car. [00:37:08] Speaker B: They were able to last longer on these tires. [00:37:11] Speaker A: Some of the other guys that were running up front at first, your Kyle bushes, your Ryan Blaney's, those guys ended. [00:37:16] Speaker B: Up losing their equipment halfway through the just been. [00:37:21] Speaker A: It was a lot of fun to watch that happen. You know, the guys like, I know a Blaney. He drives super deep into the corner. [00:37:27] Speaker B: He's a really hard driver all the time. He ended up burning his stuff off. [00:37:32] Speaker A: Finishes in 16th even though he's running up front all day. [00:37:34] Speaker B: Kyle Bush finishes in 25th even though. [00:37:37] Speaker A: He was running up front all day. [00:37:38] Speaker C: Kyle Bush, he made the joke. He was like, I'm glad I helped everybody out because 40 laps in, Kyle. [00:37:43] Speaker D: Bush was going the wrong way every single time. And it was like, there was part. [00:37:49] Speaker C: Of me that was surprised by that because Kyle Bush is such a veteran. I thought that he would latch on and figure it out. But then Kyle Bush is also an. [00:37:56] Speaker D: Aggressive son of a. [00:37:58] Speaker C: And so I also see that was. [00:38:01] Speaker D: Like, I was surprised, but also not surprised by hard to. [00:38:08] Speaker A: It's hard to flip that switch and. [00:38:10] Speaker B: Be patient in a race car. [00:38:12] Speaker A: I can totally see that being something. [00:38:14] Speaker C: He struggles with, especially when the last few seasons, like Tyler Reddick literally said, he was like, there's never been one single next gen race where I have ever thought about the tire, ever thought about saving the tire, ever thought about managing my equipment? [00:38:29] Speaker D: He was like, that hasn't been a thought. [00:38:31] Speaker C: He's like, you can drive every single lap absolutely. [00:38:33] Speaker D: As hard as you can. [00:38:34] Speaker C: And so that's been engraved in these. [00:38:36] Speaker D: Guys minds since 2022. [00:38:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:41] Speaker C: And the tire has been hard for longer than that. So if they want to talk about. [00:38:45] Speaker D: Tire wear and such, that all plays into that. [00:38:50] Speaker C: I love, though, I'm excluding the first. [00:38:53] Speaker D: Run where everyone was blindsided. [00:38:55] Speaker C: You did have the guys like your true X's and Hamlins and Larson was one that saw. [00:39:02] Speaker D: But, like, once they got it figured. [00:39:05] Speaker C: Out, Kazlowski was another one. [00:39:06] Speaker D: Obviously, the three guys finished one, two, three. But their tires, there was even runs. [00:39:11] Speaker C: Where their cords weren't even showing. Like, you rolled their tires around, they look just fine. [00:39:15] Speaker D: And so I don't know why more. [00:39:20] Speaker C: Guys didn't just be like, all right. [00:39:21] Speaker D: Back it down and we'll be all right. [00:39:24] Speaker B: But I don't know. [00:39:25] Speaker D: Some guys just don't have that back it down mentality. [00:39:29] Speaker A: It's hard when it's been ingrained in you. I feel like it is hard because. [00:39:36] Speaker B: The amount of speed that you have. [00:39:38] Speaker A: To let off to be competitive in. [00:39:39] Speaker B: That kind of situation is so substantial. I can't imagine the mental discipline. [00:39:46] Speaker A: You have to have to say, gosh. [00:39:48] Speaker B: I've got to let this guy pass me. I got to let this guy pass me. And finally get around to the end. [00:39:55] Speaker A: Of run being like, I'm going to pass this guy. I'm going to pass this guy. [00:39:58] Speaker B: Yeah, because it's hard to let those. [00:40:01] Speaker A: Positions go because it leaves you vulnerable in the end of the run. What if you do end up having to make some wild moves and burning your stuff off? Now you've given up seven, eight spots. [00:40:09] Speaker B: To these guys, then you don't have any hope of getting it back. [00:40:13] Speaker A: Or there's an untimely caution that you're expecting to happen every five laps. [00:40:16] Speaker B: But, yeah, that's a tough game to. [00:40:19] Speaker A: Be played all the way around. [00:40:21] Speaker D: Totally. I was actually most disappointed with r two drivers comments. The most. [00:40:29] Speaker A: Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see too much of the post race comments, just the ones of everybody saying they had fun. [00:40:36] Speaker D: The quote. [00:40:37] Speaker C: Larson had two quotes that I was just like, golly. So in the middle of the race, Larson says how bullshit this is, and there needs to be a red flag halfway through. [00:40:48] Speaker D: Like, have a half time. [00:40:50] Speaker C: And I literally posted on Twitter, I was like, half time. [00:40:53] Speaker D: You got to be kidding me. [00:40:54] Speaker C: And so he says something along those lines, and then he gets out of. [00:40:58] Speaker D: The car, and he says, that was a blast. [00:41:00] Speaker C: I just don't ever want to run a race like that again. [00:41:03] Speaker D: And then he saved himself yesterday in a media thing. [00:41:06] Speaker B: He was like, I don't think I. [00:41:10] Speaker C: Realized, basically how much fun that was and how awesome that was and how much everybody enjoyed it. So kind of, like, retract his statements. Even though he said them, he kind of retracted them. And then Blaney gets out of the car, and that son of a gun is just, like, seeing red. Like, his face is just like. He is worn out. [00:41:29] Speaker D: And Blaney is a very, like, he's high motion guy. [00:41:33] Speaker C: I mean, everybody talks about his radio. He flips more birds than everybody. He cusses more people out on the radio than any other. [00:41:40] Speaker D: Is like, it's just Blaney's personality. But he gets out of the car, and he looks like he's just been beat up almost. [00:41:49] Speaker C: He's exhausted, as all of them should be. But he's like, this is ridiculous. They can't do this to us. You got to have a test before you do something like this. You can't let your test be a 500 lap race. And someone commented was like, buddy, I don't know if you know, but you. [00:42:06] Speaker D: Just participated in the test. He was pissed. [00:42:10] Speaker C: And then they asked him about Ross Chastain, and he was like, I'm sick. [00:42:14] Speaker D: Of you asking about Ross Chastain, and just walked off. And so they talked about it on. [00:42:20] Speaker C: Denny Hamlin, and Denny was like, was he mad at the reporter or was he mad at Ross Chastain? And the guy's was just. [00:42:28] Speaker D: He was pissed. But literally, other than those two comments, I do not recall seeing one driver have anything bad to say. Like, the drivers seem to absolutely love it. [00:42:40] Speaker A: You know what's funny about that, though, is you're talking about the guy that was just in the points lead and. [00:42:45] Speaker B: Lost it and the guy that's currently in the points lead. Yeah. [00:42:49] Speaker A: So you're talking about the two guys. [00:42:51] Speaker B: That have technically become the favorites. [00:42:54] Speaker A: Because I was just looking at the standings right now, and you know how. [00:42:56] Speaker B: I love to give NASCArs a lot of shit, and I'm going to continue. [00:43:00] Speaker A: To do that till the day I. [00:43:01] Speaker B: Die because this is the most confusing thing. You got driver points, you got playoffs. [00:43:08] Speaker A: But nowhere in the playoff rankings does it mention how many wins you have. [00:43:12] Speaker B: Where that cutoff is, all that nonsense. I hate that. That is really dumb and stupid. [00:43:18] Speaker A: If you're going to show me something on TV. Let me be able to access it in the app anytime I want to. See, I don't even talk about playoffs. [00:43:25] Speaker C: Because it's so irrelevant and so messed up. [00:43:29] Speaker A: It's just like, yes. [00:43:31] Speaker C: When it gets down towards the end, there's, like, a battle going for the regular season champion. You can kind of keep up with. [00:43:36] Speaker D: It more then for me personally, but. [00:43:39] Speaker C: It'S like, during right now at this. [00:43:41] Speaker D: Point in the, like, I don't even know. [00:43:43] Speaker C: So I honestly don't even know if you were talking about how Blaney was leading the points and now Larson is, or how Larson was leading the points. Now Blaney is. I don't even know. [00:43:51] Speaker A: It was the way you said first. [00:43:53] Speaker B: Blaney was leading the points, and now. [00:43:55] Speaker A: Larson is talking regular series points only, not talking playoffs wins. [00:44:00] Speaker B: All that nonsense either way, which you're. [00:44:05] Speaker C: Talking because Blaney's finished, like, I feel like he's finished, like, top five every single race this year, other than he's done great. [00:44:10] Speaker A: He's only eight points behind now, so. [00:44:12] Speaker B: It'S not like he fell by a lot. [00:44:14] Speaker A: He's still up there, but a 16th. [00:44:16] Speaker B: Place finish compared to Larson's fifth. True x being. It's right now, point standing is. It's Larson, true x, Gibbs, Blaney, Hamlin. [00:44:24] Speaker A: So if you're looking specifically at those points. [00:44:27] Speaker B: So Blaney, playoff four position, four spots. [00:44:30] Speaker A: But only eight points behind. So it's just a really tight battle for the win. They must lead right? [00:44:35] Speaker D: Really tight there for him to drop that far. [00:44:39] Speaker A: But that's just what happens when you finish in 16th place. And then I guess the guy ran. [00:44:44] Speaker C: All three of those guys ran top ten. [00:44:46] Speaker E: Yes. [00:44:46] Speaker A: Martin finished in the top two. You say finished in 9th. Hamlin is right behind Blaney with negative twelve when Blaney is at negative eight. So Hamlin made a huge jump on him. It's a really tight battle, but I. [00:45:00] Speaker B: Think the story that I'm reading through. [00:45:02] Speaker A: Here not, and I'm going to reiterate this one more time before someone jumps down my throat. [00:45:07] Speaker B: I'm sincerely talking regular series points standings. You got Larson, Truex, Gibbs, Blaney, Hamlin in your top five. [00:45:15] Speaker A: The next one down would be Elliot. [00:45:17] Speaker B: Chastain, Bell, and Reddick. But looking at those names, who has consistently ran up front? Larson, Truex, Gibbs, Blaney, Hamlin. [00:45:27] Speaker A: Gibbs had the best average finish of all drivers. I saw that probably. That still stands. [00:45:32] Speaker C: Probably still stands with finish because it. [00:45:33] Speaker A: Was like with finishing in nine, eight. [00:45:35] Speaker C: And then he finished 9th, so he. [00:45:36] Speaker A: Literally barely affected it. [00:45:38] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:45:40] Speaker B: Larson constantly running up front. [00:45:42] Speaker A: Blaney's constantly getting stage points. He's just doing a great job of constantly being in the top ten all the time. He's not necessarily right there for the. [00:45:49] Speaker B: Win every week, but he's doing great there. [00:45:52] Speaker A: Truex running up front, doing a good. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Job picking back up where he left. [00:45:56] Speaker A: Off last year in the regular season. [00:45:57] Speaker B: Not counting playoffs. [00:45:58] Speaker C: Yeah, not counting playoffs. [00:46:00] Speaker A: And then Hamwin's running up front and getting wins. [00:46:02] Speaker B: So all these guys are, those are the guys I think are the top five. [00:46:08] Speaker A: What I'm trying to get at is those are the guys battling for the top four right now. They don't give a damn about the round of 16. They don't give a damn about the round of eight. They don't give a damn about anything else. [00:46:17] Speaker B: They want to be top four drivers. [00:46:19] Speaker A: And all five of those guys have a chance to do it. [00:46:22] Speaker B: So I have a feeling that's why. [00:46:24] Speaker A: Larson and Blaney had so much to say about it. Because their season hinges on consistency and ability to get those good finishes. And when you throw a random variable. [00:46:33] Speaker B: They weren't predicting their way. [00:46:34] Speaker A: While everyone did have to deal with. [00:46:36] Speaker B: It at the same time, I think. [00:46:38] Speaker A: I could see why it may affect their psyche more than other drivers. [00:46:43] Speaker B: Because they don't expect to finish in 16. [00:46:47] Speaker A: They don't expect to have a surprise top five. They expect to run top five every. [00:46:52] Speaker B: Single week without fail. [00:46:56] Speaker A: Truex is just happy to be there. Gives us two new to really give a damn otherwise. And Hamlin won. [00:47:01] Speaker B: So those guys had good days that. [00:47:04] Speaker A: They were hoping for or expecting and. [00:47:06] Speaker B: Got the result that they wanted. [00:47:08] Speaker A: Blaney definitely didn't, and Larson definitely wishes. [00:47:10] Speaker B: He ran a little bit stronger there. So I could see why that's kind of the way it goes for, uh. [00:47:18] Speaker C: And I don't think this was his first top five. [00:47:22] Speaker D: Is this true X's first top five of the year? [00:47:24] Speaker B: I'll find out if it is. [00:47:26] Speaker C: And that's what this stat was about. [00:47:28] Speaker B: But true X had 7th place at Phoenix. [00:47:36] Speaker A: And 7th place at Las Vegas. [00:47:39] Speaker D: So he's been in the high top tens. [00:47:41] Speaker A: And then the other ones were all plate tracks, so he should be at the back end of the field. [00:47:45] Speaker B: Twelveth at Atlanta and at Daytona. [00:47:50] Speaker A: We had him coming in. [00:47:54] Speaker E: That was the wrong one. [00:47:58] Speaker C: Either way, it was true X's first top five since, like, summertime of last year. [00:48:04] Speaker A: Yeah, it was his because it was 15th, twelveth, 7th, 7th, 5th, or second. [00:48:10] Speaker D: Yeah, that was his first top five. [00:48:13] Speaker C: Since summertime of last year. Like, in the summer last year. That's why he won the regular season championship. They hit something and he freaking was running lots out. Top five every week. Bust out, like three wins or something like that. And then whatever happened to them at the end of that, at the end. [00:48:28] Speaker D: Of the regular season and then going into playoffs was just brutal. So they've been on a cold streak for the last quarter of last year. [00:48:38] Speaker C: And then, obviously, two top tens in. [00:48:41] Speaker D: The top five, but it's taken a second to get back up to the. [00:48:46] Speaker B: Front of the pack. Yeah, they had to get through a. [00:48:49] Speaker A: Couple of plate tracks, which he always, I wouldn't necessarily say struggles with, but he doesn't go out there and exceed. [00:48:56] Speaker B: Expectations by any means. [00:48:58] Speaker A: I always knew him as the guy that would drop to the back of the pack until the end of the stage every week when I first started. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Watching, but now that we're on watching, too. [00:49:07] Speaker D: True X was on top of the world. [00:49:09] Speaker A: Yeah, 2017 was my first year watching. And he couldn't lose. You couldn't beat him at a mile and a half. Mile and a half, martin. [00:49:16] Speaker B: Back then I saw, too. [00:49:18] Speaker C: It's like Martin Truex, he doesn't have, like, sneaky wins. If true x is going to win. [00:49:23] Speaker A: A race, it's going to be the. [00:49:24] Speaker C: Most boring race you've ever watched, because he's going to lead 98% of the laps. [00:49:28] Speaker D: And someone said that, and then I. [00:49:31] Speaker C: Was thinking, I was like, that's the most true thing I've ever heard. He doesn't just back into a win or figure it out at the end. [00:49:36] Speaker D: Of the race, they're going to unload. [00:49:38] Speaker C: They'Re going to qualify up front, and they're going to lead 98% of the. [00:49:42] Speaker D: Laps, and they're going to go to victory lane. And that's just like his style of racing. [00:49:48] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:49:50] Speaker A: It was a lot of fun to watch him back in the day because he really did that. And he was one of the first guys I got to cheering for whenever I first was watching because he was such a good dude and he was. [00:50:00] Speaker B: Just dominating back then. [00:50:01] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:50:02] Speaker A: Then I found out Blaney was a nerd, and I was like, well, I. [00:50:05] Speaker B: Got to switch my pick here, but. [00:50:07] Speaker C: Found out Blainey looked like your brother. [00:50:09] Speaker B: Exactly. [00:50:09] Speaker A: That, too. [00:50:10] Speaker B: He looks just like my brother, but, yeah. So it was good for them to finally get a top five. [00:50:17] Speaker A: They've been struggling for it for so. [00:50:19] Speaker B: Long, and Allison really needed something to watch there. I had also was like we said. [00:50:24] Speaker A: We were impressed with Keslowski's run. [00:50:25] Speaker B: I had sent a Snapchat to Brandon. [00:50:28] Speaker A: Lee the other day and I said. [00:50:29] Speaker B: Man, I feel a six win coming on. [00:50:31] Speaker A: And that whole time I was watching. [00:50:33] Speaker B: Him being third and I wanted him. [00:50:35] Speaker A: So bad to start catching the leaders. But it just seemed like Gibbs had something extra where they didn't have to. [00:50:41] Speaker B: Run quite as slow to keep their tires underneath. [00:50:46] Speaker A: It was. [00:50:46] Speaker B: It was so close. [00:50:48] Speaker A: I was sitting there thinking maybe they're going to wreck each other going for the win or something, and he's going. [00:50:51] Speaker B: To be able to sneak out the catbird seat win. [00:50:54] Speaker A: But he was never quite able to. [00:50:56] Speaker B: Get up and get over that hump. And you could hear it in his. [00:50:59] Speaker A: Voice in his post race interview, just. [00:51:01] Speaker B: Saying, man, I'm just ready to put. [00:51:03] Speaker A: This thing in a victory lane. He is ready to get this win out of his way. [00:51:06] Speaker B: He's running great. [00:51:07] Speaker C: He's running great. [00:51:09] Speaker D: I have a couple people each week. [00:51:12] Speaker C: That text me literally like three or four, and it'll be like a Sunday morning. [00:51:18] Speaker D: We're going down the road in my. [00:51:20] Speaker C: Apple Carplay thing or whatever. It pops up on the screen, like, who takes you? [00:51:24] Speaker D: Whatever. And he'd be like, who is that? I'm like, I guarantee they're asking me about NASCAR bets. [00:51:29] Speaker C: And it's just like people that I don't even talk to really regularly, just like on Sundays. And someone asked me, who's your pick today? I said, brad K. And they're like, what? [00:51:38] Speaker B: And I was like, just watch. [00:51:40] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:51:40] Speaker C: And then I was so close. [00:51:42] Speaker A: So damn close. Dad ended up picking the eleven car in our pool this week and he ended up texting me the moment the race was over. I beat your ass today. Yeah. [00:51:54] Speaker C: Lindsay is hardcore on the Hamlin train. Has Hamlin koozies, Hamlin t shirts, the whole nine yards. And so we're watching that and she's videoing and hooping and hollering same way. [00:52:05] Speaker A: So, yeah, let's keep Hamlin and Victorland. I'm about it, man. Have the villain win a couple of races. I want to hear the booze. I want to hear the cheers. [00:52:13] Speaker B: I want to hear everybody getting riled up. Totally, totally. [00:52:16] Speaker D: I'm all in. [00:52:19] Speaker C: Do you want to talk about some coda bets? I've already placed mine about some code of bets. [00:52:25] Speaker A: I haven't pulled up anything, so I'm not sure what we're even looking at line wise. [00:52:28] Speaker B: Let me get using draftkings, obviously. [00:52:32] Speaker D: Yeah, draftKings. [00:52:36] Speaker C: I'm going to pull up here. What I did, I just want to. [00:52:40] Speaker D: Throw this out here to have on the was we were in his bar. [00:52:47] Speaker C: And there's an NBA basketball game going on. [00:52:51] Speaker D: I do not watch basketball at. So there's a basketball game going on. [00:52:58] Speaker C: I couldn't even tell you who it is now. It was the Suns and someone else. [00:53:01] Speaker D: But I can't even remember who was winning at this point. Somebody was winning and winning by a decent amount, and it was going into their little halftime. [00:53:09] Speaker C: And the over and under. [00:53:10] Speaker D: I'm looking on the thing. Well, the over was, like, this astronomical number, and I'm adding the points together. [00:53:16] Speaker C: What they got, and I was like. [00:53:17] Speaker D: There'S no way they hit that. [00:53:19] Speaker C: There's absolutely no way. So I picked the under, which was. [00:53:24] Speaker D: The ODs were plus money, and then obviously, the other team was, like, picked. [00:53:28] Speaker C: To win because they were leading by a good bit. But whatever it was, it made the plus be like. [00:53:33] Speaker B: It was, like, plus, like, three or. [00:53:35] Speaker C: 400 something, because the under was, like. [00:53:37] Speaker D: Way plused up, because I guess in. [00:53:40] Speaker C: Basketball, they just score points like crazy, which they do. [00:53:43] Speaker D: So anyway, I picked the under and. [00:53:45] Speaker C: Pick the suns or whoever to win, and it happened. [00:53:48] Speaker D: So I made one basketball bet there. Well, last week, Matt McKinney hits me. [00:53:55] Speaker C: Up and is like, dude, I got. [00:53:56] Speaker D: Two tickets from my banker to go sit in the pinnacle suite to watch. [00:54:01] Speaker C: The SEC championship game. [00:54:03] Speaker D: SEC championship tournament at the Bridgestone. He's like, do you want to go? [00:54:07] Speaker C: I was like, bro, I've never even watched a high school basketball game in person. [00:54:09] Speaker A: But sure. [00:54:11] Speaker C: He's like, so your first ever basketball game is, like, the SEC championship. [00:54:15] Speaker B: And I was like, yeah. [00:54:16] Speaker D: He's like, bro, basketball fans would be. [00:54:18] Speaker C: So jealous to know this is, like. [00:54:19] Speaker D: Your first ever experience, even if you. [00:54:22] Speaker C: Were just sitting in the stands to watch it, much less be in the suite or whatever. [00:54:26] Speaker D: And I was like, yeah. [00:54:28] Speaker C: So we go in the suite. First time ever being a suite. Full bar, hamburgers, chicken fingers, popcorn, chips, cooler full of beer. Whatever you wanted, it's there. And then magically, all the Miller lots are gone. This little lady comes in. Boom, all the Miller lots are back. It was a great time. [00:54:48] Speaker A: You got waited on hand and foot at a basketball game. [00:54:51] Speaker D: It was super cool. [00:54:52] Speaker C: And we got to meet, like, the guy that's over Pinnacle bank. He was awesome. His name was Ed White. We ended up talking to him for a long time. He's 72 years old. I know his whole life story. Been married to his wife for 50 years. [00:55:04] Speaker A: Hell, yeah. [00:55:05] Speaker B: Great, dude. [00:55:06] Speaker C: And we ended up hanging out with. [00:55:07] Speaker D: All those people up there that make bookoos more money than all of us do combined anyway. [00:55:13] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:13] Speaker D: All that to say to make it fun, I make three bets. [00:55:20] Speaker C: Know, I make three bets for the game. [00:55:22] Speaker D: And it was like, whoever, whatever. [00:55:25] Speaker C: The first game goes into overtime, and I got the over. [00:55:28] Speaker D: And for whoever's playing Vandy to beat him, well, it goes into overtime, hits the over. [00:55:33] Speaker C: Vandy loses. So I win that bet, all this win. [00:55:38] Speaker D: I win all three of those bets. [00:55:40] Speaker C: Well, the next day, skinny goes, throw in money on South Carolina to beat, I think, Arkansas. [00:55:46] Speaker D: The next day, boom, took that money. [00:55:48] Speaker C: Put it on South Carolina. [00:55:50] Speaker D: South Carolina wins. I am five for five. [00:55:53] Speaker C: I've made five basketball bets in my life. One NBA and four college men's basketball bets. [00:55:59] Speaker D: I've won all five. [00:56:01] Speaker A: Addiction starts right there. [00:56:03] Speaker C: I'm batting a thousand on basketball. [00:56:05] Speaker A: On basketball. [00:56:06] Speaker B: Talk to us about racing bets and. [00:56:09] Speaker A: Basketball racing, losing bets and basketball winning bets. [00:56:11] Speaker C: Yeah, I might retire from my basketball. [00:56:16] Speaker A: Betting, but go series. [00:56:19] Speaker E: Cool. [00:56:19] Speaker D: Cool stat there. [00:56:20] Speaker B: That's pretty cool. Love it. You're like Hamlin and xfinity. [00:56:25] Speaker A: Anyway, not to wreck your grid. [00:56:26] Speaker B: Finish. [00:56:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:56:27] Speaker D: At Darlington, I think, right? [00:56:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Or just in general. [00:56:35] Speaker D: So I took, like, $45 like I normally do and just put it on some NASCAR bets. For starters. I did Reddick to win. [00:56:49] Speaker C: He dominated there last year. No matter what the strategy was, he dominated. [00:56:53] Speaker D: So I picked him to win. I picked SVG top three. [00:56:57] Speaker C: I don't know if that's going to board the betting books or whatever are all in on SVG. I totally understand why this is. [00:57:05] Speaker A: I'm tempted to put him down as one of my winning bets. [00:57:08] Speaker C: Yeah, I almost did, but I decided. [00:57:10] Speaker B: Not to just because it would be. [00:57:12] Speaker A: An exciting thing to watch another australian win. [00:57:14] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:57:15] Speaker C: I mean, I'm all in for it. If he wins, I'm top three, so I'm cool with it. I did Larson to win. Always put money on your favorite. [00:57:23] Speaker D: I did. [00:57:23] Speaker C: McDowell top ten. He was top. I think he finished, like, 11th there last year. Almadinger top five was plus money, which blew my mind, so I took that immediately. [00:57:34] Speaker A: Oh, it is still plus money. I'm putting that down right now. [00:57:37] Speaker C: Ross Chastain has ran really well there. Both times they have raced, and he was plus money for top five, so I took that immediately. [00:57:46] Speaker D: Oh, I did put in an SVG winner. [00:57:50] Speaker A: Mean, it's too much fun not to. [00:57:52] Speaker C: Actually, that was in the Xfinity series. [00:57:53] Speaker D: Sorry, not cup. [00:57:54] Speaker C: That is Xfinity series. [00:57:57] Speaker B: I'll put them down. [00:57:58] Speaker A: In both, because I really think he's going to come out there and have. [00:58:01] Speaker B: A good shot at it between him and almondinger. [00:58:09] Speaker D: Almondinger to win. And that's xfinity. [00:58:16] Speaker C: And then I did like a four pick parlay. [00:58:18] Speaker D: Just went all crazy with it and. [00:58:21] Speaker C: Did them all together. I picked McDowell over Briscoe, chastain over. [00:58:25] Speaker D: Suarez, Bowman over Cindric, and Elliot over Byron. [00:58:30] Speaker B: Damn, that's a hell of a parlay. [00:58:33] Speaker E: It is. [00:58:34] Speaker B: Go be a fun one, though, man. [00:58:37] Speaker A: There's a lot of good ones in here. I'm looking at McDowell over Briscoe for. [00:58:41] Speaker B: Sure, because that is almost a no brainer. [00:58:44] Speaker D: Yes, I agree. [00:58:46] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:58:48] Speaker B: And then Chastain over Suarez. I mean, you just kind of have. [00:58:52] Speaker A: To pick that one at this point. [00:58:53] Speaker E: Totally. [00:58:56] Speaker C: And then Bowman over Cindric. [00:58:58] Speaker D: Cedric. Dude, I don't know what is up. [00:59:00] Speaker C: With the two car. We've said it on here before, but they are trash. [00:59:04] Speaker D: They run like dookie, man. [00:59:07] Speaker A: I would almost, though, make the argument the other way because that is Cedric's background as he's road course races. [00:59:12] Speaker C: I know, but even on here, I looked it up. [00:59:16] Speaker D: He hasn't been doing great in the next gen. [00:59:21] Speaker A: What? I'm going to flip that one on you because we may have to revisit this one next week because I really think Cindric could come out there and surprise you with one because they have. [00:59:30] Speaker B: Been running a little better this year. [00:59:32] Speaker A: It ain't by much. I'm not saying that all the problems are fixed. [00:59:36] Speaker B: I'm not saying he should be locked. [00:59:37] Speaker A: Into that ride for years and years and years, but they have been running. [00:59:40] Speaker B: Slightly better than they used to. And I'm not talking necessarily the finishes. [00:59:46] Speaker A: Sometimes the finishes can skew the result to make you think they're doing a lot worse than they are. [00:59:49] Speaker B: I think they're running a little better this year. [00:59:52] Speaker A: We'll see how that translates into the. [00:59:54] Speaker B: Rest of the year. And Bowman has just been struggling for hard to. [01:00:00] Speaker A: It's hard for me to say whether or not I feel confident Bowman beats him. So I'm going to go Cedric on. [01:00:04] Speaker B: That one just to disagree with you. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Just to piss you off. If you think Bowman's going to beat Austin Cindric, you're a clown is what I'm trying to say right now. [01:00:13] Speaker D: Damn. [01:00:14] Speaker B: So that pretty much locked your bet in. [01:00:16] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:00:17] Speaker C: The way your luck's been going on. [01:00:18] Speaker D: Twitter saying that it might do. [01:00:20] Speaker A: Yeah, it's pretty much a no go. [01:00:22] Speaker B: For me on that front. [01:00:27] Speaker A: So, one thing we haven't talked about, and I already know your answer, so. [01:00:30] Speaker B: I can't wait to get into it. Hack of a week. [01:00:36] Speaker A: We already know. Look, it's what happened. It's obvious. [01:00:40] Speaker C: Everybody's already apologizing and all this stuff, and they're trying to miss a wreck and the marbles and it's slicker now. Shit, I totally understand. But in the moment, I'm sitting there and I'm like, bro, this is Arca. [01:00:50] Speaker D: Serious shit right here. Yeah, arc of breaks. Arc of breaks. [01:00:54] Speaker C: Zane Smith just coming in ten minutes. [01:00:57] Speaker D: Later and nailing dollar Reddick in the nose. [01:01:02] Speaker C: And golly, Bret Griffin cracked me up. He was like, spotter must have said. [01:01:07] Speaker D: Go low and see if you go low. Count to ten and see if you can hit him. [01:01:12] Speaker A: And I died laughing at that. [01:01:13] Speaker C: I thought that was so funny. [01:01:14] Speaker A: That's exactly what I was thinking, too. When it was going down. I was just like, dog, what are you doing? And I know they said something about it being slick down there, but you know what? [01:01:24] Speaker B: I don't care. [01:01:25] Speaker A: You looked kind of stupid doing. Why were you that low? Are you getting knocked out of all. [01:01:36] Speaker C: Those guys wrecked behind him? [01:01:38] Speaker B: So he went mean. [01:01:40] Speaker A: Reddick had a chance, honestly, like if he was on a qualifying lap, he had a chance to get down there, turn the engine off, cool it down, and go out there and start up another fucking qualifying lap before Zane Smith. [01:01:50] Speaker B: Came in and hit him. [01:01:51] Speaker A: Brutal. It was ridiculous to watch. I get it. There is a good reason for it, but we're still going to hack of the week for hitting somebody that's been. [01:01:59] Speaker B: Sitting still for the past 5 seconds. [01:02:01] Speaker C: And I got to give a shout out to our boy Randy Adams. Randy sends me a picture on Snapchat from the race and was like early candidate for hack of the week, Zane Smith. And it's those two cars. [01:02:12] Speaker D: He was like, whatever. I guess he got wrecked right there. [01:02:17] Speaker A: It was along the front stretch right behind start. [01:02:21] Speaker C: So Randy's view is kind of coming from like the center of turns one and two ish. So he's looking right at it like he looks like he's on top. The picture is so clear and it's just the two cars hitting each other like this. And he says, hack of the week. [01:02:32] Speaker D: And I was like, oh, early candidate. [01:02:35] Speaker B: That's amazing. Good lord. [01:02:39] Speaker A: So I completely agree with that one. The reward you don't want, but you. [01:02:42] Speaker B: Got to learn the hard way. [01:02:44] Speaker A: Hack of the week, Zane Smith. [01:02:45] Speaker B: Brutal week. [01:02:46] Speaker D: Brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal. [01:02:49] Speaker A: Trading paint, though, I want to definitely say the true x car looked incredible and they had it on camera the entire time. [01:02:55] Speaker B: The way they did those circles around. [01:02:57] Speaker A: The a rippling out on the hood. I thought that was really neat. So huge fan of the true X. [01:03:01] Speaker B: Scheme that they had running this week. [01:03:03] Speaker E: Yep. [01:03:05] Speaker C: I don't know if I even looked. Honestly, I'm so let down this morning. I thought that Dell Jr. Was going to come in and run. They did a troll job on us. [01:03:15] Speaker B: Hardcore. [01:03:16] Speaker C: I thought Dell Jr. Was going to come in and run the all star race and replace Larson while he's qualifying. [01:03:23] Speaker D: For the Indy 500 and run a throwback 88 national guard car. [01:03:32] Speaker C: And then it just is going to be a throwback for Chase Elliot Elliot throwback at Darlington. And the car looks great. I mean, like, for a mean, they nailed it. It looks awesome, other than the number being forward or whatever. [01:03:44] Speaker B: But I was just like, damn. [01:03:47] Speaker A: Yeah, I got super hooked up on that one for sure. [01:03:50] Speaker C: I got way too excited. I even texted you about it. I was like, bro, I think Doz Jr. Is about to race with NASCAR. [01:03:55] Speaker A: And he's been building it up, too, for a while. [01:03:58] Speaker B: And it's like, man, I get it. It's cool. But that was a lot of build. [01:04:03] Speaker A: Up for a throwback. Throwback. [01:04:04] Speaker C: Yeah, I agree. [01:04:05] Speaker D: I was know it was so funny. [01:04:07] Speaker C: Everybody on Twitter said the same thing. It's like, this car looks cool, but. [01:04:11] Speaker D: What the fuck is all. [01:04:12] Speaker A: Yeah, you're going to this big for. [01:04:15] Speaker D: A throwback car just because it's a junior throwback? [01:04:18] Speaker C: Like, what? [01:04:18] Speaker A: The one off race Hendrick Andale Jr. Joint selling it. I mean, it's definitely worth the trade. [01:04:25] Speaker B: And paint mention, but gosh, when you. [01:04:28] Speaker A: Build me up to think that I'm getting the Xbox underneath the Christmas tree, and then all of a sudden it's. [01:04:34] Speaker B: Just like a little toy car that didn't even ask our car. It's like, okay, thanks. I'm still excited. I'll still play with this, but whatever. Yeah, I was just like, dang, this kind of sucks. [01:04:48] Speaker A: Yeah, you can't win them all, I guess. [01:04:49] Speaker B: Whatever. [01:04:51] Speaker C: I got this awesome Dell Jr. Sundrop. [01:04:53] Speaker D: Late model hat, Atlanta. [01:04:55] Speaker C: And I wore it to the show the other night, and then I wore it yesterday. [01:05:00] Speaker D: And, bro, I've gotten so many compliments on this hat. [01:05:03] Speaker A: I brought it up in our security meeting the other day. [01:05:05] Speaker D: I was told. [01:05:06] Speaker C: Yeah, I was told by every single person I walked by that had a cowboy hat on that was security guard that was talking about my hat. But this lady, dude, this is so funny. [01:05:16] Speaker D: We're sitting there, this lady's like, oh, my God, where did you get your hat? And immediately I'm like, oh, this lady's a race car fan, NASCAR fan or something. [01:05:24] Speaker C: And I was like, I got Atlanta motor Speedway. [01:05:27] Speaker D: And she looked at me like I had four eyes. She's like, what? [01:05:32] Speaker A: Yeah, just like, looks at me like. [01:05:33] Speaker C: I have four eyes. [01:05:34] Speaker D: And I was like, I didn't know what to say. [01:05:36] Speaker C: I was like, I don't know why she's looking at me like that. And I was like, yeah. It was like a Dell Jr. Hat. [01:05:41] Speaker D: She was, oh, like, I just love sundrop. [01:05:45] Speaker C: I'm addicted to, like, I thought it was just like, a sundrop hat. [01:05:48] Speaker B: I was like, oh, God, no. [01:05:50] Speaker C: And then she just walks off, and I was like, well, that was just awkward as all hell. [01:05:54] Speaker A: That was that show from beginning to end, man. That was just how that show went. That was one of the shows we've ever played. [01:06:00] Speaker D: That was one of the shows out. [01:06:03] Speaker A: Of all the shows we've ever played, that sure was one of them. [01:06:05] Speaker E: Yeah. [01:06:06] Speaker A: It's our favorite thing to say about places that didn't blow our socks off but didn't completely wreck our lives. [01:06:13] Speaker C: Where did that saying come from? You saw it on something. [01:06:16] Speaker B: I just have seen that forever. [01:06:18] Speaker A: And it was usually whenever somebody's talking about somebody's crappy song on TikTok, it'll be a comment on there, man. This is just one of the songs I've ever heard, dude, I totally remember that. [01:06:28] Speaker C: Dude was, like, covering a Tim McGraw song or something. [01:06:32] Speaker A: It's a guy on Instagram. I don't know his name. I'm not going to give anybody too much crap today, but he posts a lot of videos. [01:06:38] Speaker C: I've heard that. [01:06:39] Speaker B: Very off key. [01:06:41] Speaker A: He doesn't have any ability to sing. [01:06:43] Speaker B: But he posts these videos of him. [01:06:45] Speaker A: Singing in random, random places. It'll be in the middle of the desert one day, it'll be in the middle of a forest the next day. [01:06:51] Speaker B: And he can go anywhere from singing. [01:06:54] Speaker A: A friggin Fleetwood Max song to singing a Tim McGraw song. It doesn't matter to him. [01:06:58] Speaker B: He'll sing whatever. [01:06:59] Speaker A: And every single time, the comments are just filled with, man, out of all the songs I've heard, this sure is one of. [01:07:04] Speaker B: Yep. [01:07:04] Speaker A: And it just became a going saying for us about any venue that doesn't completely murder us, but doesn't impress us by any stretch. [01:07:11] Speaker C: One of the shows I've seen, one of the shows I've watched. Yep. [01:07:14] Speaker B: One of the shows I played. It's part of it. [01:07:18] Speaker D: Just part of it. [01:07:20] Speaker A: But anyways, we're definitely looking forward to coda next week. Not as much as any other track, but hey, you know what? It's in Texas, so it's going to. [01:07:27] Speaker B: Be a little bigger at least. But definitely watch out for some Toyotas. [01:07:32] Speaker A: Watch out for Reddick. I think I'm going to have a. [01:07:36] Speaker B: Know middle of the road week for me. Blaine is not the greatest road course racer, so I'm gonna be cheering on from the back half of the pack. It'll be a good time. [01:07:45] Speaker E: Yep. [01:07:45] Speaker D: I'm gonna cheer for Reddick. [01:07:47] Speaker B: Love to see it. [01:07:49] Speaker A: Let's go SVG. I'm all about it. [01:07:52] Speaker B: Let's see if you can two pete it. [01:07:53] Speaker A: Two road courses in a row in. [01:07:55] Speaker B: The cup series be impressive. [01:07:58] Speaker A: But other than that, social media shout outs. Mine is Caleb Conrouty on all platforms. Find me on Twitter. Find out what I make a fool. [01:08:07] Speaker B: Of myself saying this weekend. Don't forget. [01:08:11] Speaker D: Yeah, go ahead, Dawson Edwards. [01:08:14] Speaker B: Music. [01:08:15] Speaker C: You can find me everywhere. And then raise rowdy racing. [01:08:20] Speaker B: Yep. [01:08:20] Speaker A: Raised rowdy racing on everything rZd. Rowdy racing on Twitter. Don't forget to follow raised rowdy. Raised rowdy. Nicky T. Raised rowdy. [01:08:28] Speaker B: Matt Burrell on all platforms. [01:08:32] Speaker A: Definitely give us a shout out. Let us know what you think. Let us know what you want to. [01:08:35] Speaker B: See next week and what Dawson should. [01:08:38] Speaker A: Cook because he's looking for recipes all the time. He loves his crock pot. He never cooks on a blackstone, so just remember to keep that in mind. [01:08:46] Speaker C: Oh, man, my mom, she listens. [01:08:49] Speaker D: That is going to love that. [01:08:50] Speaker C: She knows I never cook on a crock pot. [01:08:52] Speaker A: Exactly. Send him all the crock pot recipes, preferably the ones that use buffalo wild wing sauces. [01:08:59] Speaker D: Oh, God. [01:08:59] Speaker A: Full bottles of buffalo wild wings and. [01:09:01] Speaker C: Cream cheese in every crock pot. [01:09:05] Speaker A: And please remind him never to use. [01:09:07] Speaker B: A crock pot liner. [01:09:09] Speaker A: I want to see how clean he can get his crock pot after he melts his cream cheese in there. Getting too drunk and forgetting about it all day. [01:09:15] Speaker C: Oh, my God. [01:09:16] Speaker A: Pretty sure he's planning on cooking some ribs in the crock pot later on. [01:09:19] Speaker D: Oh, no. [01:09:23] Speaker A: It may be a disaster, but it's your disaster. [01:09:26] Speaker B: Either way, y'all let us know what you think. [01:09:29] Speaker A: Shout out to Randy Adams again. Heard you met Brandon Lee. I know that went well. [01:09:33] Speaker B: Glad you got to catch up with him. Either way, we will talk at y'all next week after Koda. Yeehaw. [01:09:42] Speaker C: See y'all. [01:09:45] Speaker E: These good years. Can't handle dirt. Don't need no turns with banks. What I like in horses, I make up with four by four I'm in and out of until I make it to your door checkers record my foot hammered on the gas I'm making my way to you, girl earn hard bathroom.
