[00:00:05] Speaker A: This is raise rowdy racing with Caleb Conrady and Dawson Edwards.
[00:00:13] Speaker B: Good morning, beautiful people.
[00:00:15] Speaker C: Hey.
[00:00:16] Speaker A: Hey.
[00:00:17] Speaker B: Caleb is a clown.
[00:00:20] Speaker A: I am a clown.
[00:00:23] Speaker C: I accept it.
[00:00:24] Speaker B: It is what it is.
[00:00:25] Speaker C: I am not always right and I.
[00:00:28] Speaker A: Stand by what I said when I.
[00:00:29] Speaker C: Said it, but damn, did I just.
[00:00:34] Speaker A: Come out looking like an idiot?
[00:00:36] Speaker C: Like, what provoked you to post that on Twitter? Margaritas.
[00:00:42] Speaker B: That's it? That's all it was?
[00:00:44] Speaker A: Just margaritas?
[00:00:45] Speaker B: Margaritas and a Christopher Bell hater?
[00:00:48] Speaker A: Yeah, pretty much.
[00:00:49] Speaker B: So you got to tell them.
[00:00:52] Speaker A: I can justify this for sure, but yes.
[00:00:55] Speaker C: To basically make a long story short, I posted a comment on Twitter right.
[00:01:06] Speaker A: Before the race started because everyone had Christopher Bell picked as the favorite and.
[00:01:11] Speaker C: I just thought that was absolutely lunatic behavior. I didn't see it.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: I didn't think it was even going.
[00:01:19] Speaker C: To come close to happening. I didn't have any faith in it.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: Every time I talk crap about Christopher.
[00:01:25] Speaker C: Bell, he always comes back and just.
[00:01:29] Speaker A: Shocks me with a surprising just been. I immediately, as soon as the race.
[00:01:36] Speaker C: Was over, someone I have never met, don't know at all.
[00:01:42] Speaker A: Called me out.
[00:01:43] Speaker C: And said.
[00:01:46] Speaker A: What was this comment back to me? I got to look it back up just to make sure that I put it correctly because I want to exactly.
[00:01:52] Speaker C: Quote someone commented on your post about Christopher Bell.
[00:01:57] Speaker A: Someone commented on my post. I forgot Christopher Bell, you said, so I'm pulling up the tweet right now. I screenshotted it though.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Once he started leading, I was like.
[00:02:06] Speaker C: I have to get Caleb for this.
[00:02:08] Speaker A: So I posted, if you picked Christopher Bell as your favorite, you're a clown.
[00:02:13] Speaker C: Emoji.
[00:02:14] Speaker A: You're a clown.
[00:02:16] Speaker C: This dude named Brian at underscore Super.
[00:02:19] Speaker A: Bowl bound said, you sure about that? The moment the race ended. I mean, this dude, he waited my.
[00:02:28] Speaker C: Waited for the race to end.
[00:02:30] Speaker A: I don't even think Christopher Bell had finished his freaking victory lap and this dude had already called me out on it.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: You sure about that?
[00:02:37] Speaker A: And I said, I'm a clown. And he just sit back. Lol.
[00:02:44] Speaker B: People on waiting, they're waiting on you to mess up.
[00:02:48] Speaker A: The funny part is he did actually bookmark it. It is bookmarked in this post. He bookmarked it.
And I love that. I love that interaction. It was hilarious to me.
[00:03:01] Speaker C: I looked like an absolute fool, but I don't care.
[00:03:04] Speaker A: And I posted another status right after it all happened. I said, I'd like to apologize to.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: My team, my sponsor, my lack of.
[00:03:12] Speaker A: Fans and my family for such a poorly aged tweet. And then another one that said I.
[00:03:16] Speaker C: Was wrong I will be wrong.
[00:03:19] Speaker A: I love being wrong sometimes because it means racing is fun again.
[00:03:23] Speaker B: There is a page called poorly aged NASCAR tweets, and I should send that to him.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: You should. You should. Because I stand behind what I said. Because look at Christopher Bell's previous races this year.
[00:03:36] Speaker C: I know two of them were super.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: Speedways, so we can only go so much on that. But even if you look back at.
[00:03:42] Speaker C: The clash, dude didn't qualify for the clash, so that's already a knock against him. You go to Las Vegas.
Well, guess where he finished. Las Vegas. That man finished 33rd, and he was still running.
He blew two left rear tires, right?
[00:04:01] Speaker A: Yeah, he did have tire problems and all that, but dude is just, like, three times in that, man.
[00:04:09] Speaker C: I just.
[00:04:09] Speaker A: I don't have faith in Christopher Bell. I never. I honestly, he's just not my driver. He is not someone I love. I feel like me and you have similar feelings about some drivers, and I think Christopher Bell sometimes can be one.
[00:04:23] Speaker C: Of the most overrated drivers in the field.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: That is awesome.
[00:04:26] Speaker A: Come at me in the comments.
[00:04:27] Speaker C: I don't care.
[00:04:29] Speaker A: Every now and then, he managed to pull something out, and we all talk.
[00:04:32] Speaker C: About it every single year. When he makes runs in the playoffs, everyone literally just says, man, this just.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: Works out really well for Christopher Bell, don't it? Because it's tracks that he's good at.
[00:04:42] Speaker C: Well, I swear, if you mix that up like they did this year, I.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: Think we see a different Christopher Bell emerge. I don't think final four Christopher Bell is something I see coming, and I will eat crow if I'm wrong. I ate a big old bowl of it.
[00:04:55] Speaker C: This, man, I just.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: I had fun with that.
[00:05:00] Speaker C: That was a lot of fun.
[00:05:02] Speaker A: But what possessed me to do that.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: Was I got home from the road, I was exhausted. I wasn't even hungover. I just was so dog tired getting in that morning, going straight to a.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Mexican restaurant about noon, sitting down and drinking margaritas for 2 hours to see Christopher Bell was the favorite. I was like, man, that's lame. I got something to say about that.
[00:05:23] Speaker C: Fired away and shout out to Brian, man.
[00:05:27] Speaker A: Dude, I hope we have more arguments.
[00:05:29] Speaker C: Than Twitter comments, because that was hilarious to me.
[00:05:34] Speaker B: Your Twitter this whole weekend, from, like, Thursday to yesterday, was one of the most lit four days that you've had on Twitter in your Twitter history.
I was a fan. Every time I logged onto Twitter, you had two tweets. There were the first two tweets that came up each day. Like, the first time I logged on.
[00:05:52] Speaker C: You were the one I was like, caleb's on one.
[00:05:55] Speaker A: I was on one, man. I was on one all weekend.
[00:05:59] Speaker B: I have told you before and you usually only tweet when you're drinking, but I told you before, Twitter is a better place when you're saying crazy shit on Twitter.
It always has been.
[00:06:11] Speaker A: I love it. I don't use it very often, but this week I just had a lot of things to was. It was a very opinionated weekend for me.
[00:06:19] Speaker B: Start using it more often.
[00:06:20] Speaker A: I think I should because it was a lot of fun. I got a lot of responses back from I know Brian Frazier and Todd.
[00:06:25] Speaker C: Williams and McKinney sometimes will fire.
[00:06:28] Speaker A: I'll fire it skinny at sometimes and then you always say something to it.
[00:06:32] Speaker C: Something on there, man.
[00:06:34] Speaker A: I was really on one because as everyone knows.
[00:06:39] Speaker C: Oh, goodness. Sorry about that. What happened?
[00:06:43] Speaker A: My phone just started ringing right in.
[00:06:45] Speaker C: The middle of us.
[00:06:45] Speaker B: Caleb's trying to buy a house while doing a podcast.
[00:06:48] Speaker A: Trying to buy a house and do a podcast at the same time.
[00:06:51] Speaker C: It makes this really fun. Yeah.
So this weekend we're on the road with Travis. We're in this little town called Newton, North Carolina.
[00:07:02] Speaker A: We go to Decatur, Alabama.
[00:07:06] Speaker B: I hear it ringing again.
[00:07:07] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:07:08] Speaker A: Let me put a pause on this real quick.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: This might be important. All right.
[00:07:15] Speaker B: I'll keep talking while Caleb is on the phone there.
So yeah, Caleb is on the road. I don't know if I should talk.
[00:07:23] Speaker C: About being on the road or the NASCAR race.
[00:07:26] Speaker B: I'm just going to go out and say before, while Caleb's away.
[00:07:30] Speaker C: So we don't even know I said this.
The racing at Phoenix was better than it has been, but still not good.
[00:07:40] Speaker B: Okay, he's back. We're going to say that. And he doesn't know I said that. So we'll save it for later.
[00:07:45] Speaker C: All right, dope.
[00:07:46] Speaker A: Sorry about that.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Just my opinion on the race.
[00:07:48] Speaker A: But yeah, you're good. When you get a phone call from your fiance and you tell her that you're busy doing something and she calls.
[00:07:55] Speaker C: You again, you kind of got to answer that one.
[00:07:58] Speaker A: It turns out it was nothing.
[00:07:59] Speaker C: She just missed my text. But anyway, so back to Twitter.
[00:08:03] Speaker A: I get on Twitter this weekend because we're in those towns. We go to decatur, Alabama and the Montgomery, Alabama.
[00:08:08] Speaker B: Where is Newton, North Carolina in reference to like any charlote?
[00:08:12] Speaker A: It's right outside of Charlote. Probably about hour, hour and a half. I was in racing country. It was a great time. I was wearing my Ryan Blaney shirt the entire time.
[00:08:20] Speaker C: It was awesome.
Love that we have had six shows so far this year, and I want.
[00:08:28] Speaker A: To put this out to every venue in America. If you ever listen to this podcast.
[00:08:32] Speaker C: Somehow I want you to keep in.
[00:08:35] Speaker A: Mind that we've had six shows this.
[00:08:36] Speaker C: Year, and outside the very first one.
[00:08:39] Speaker A: Every single time we go to eat.
[00:08:41] Speaker C: Lunch at catering, it has been a taco bar. Every single flipping time we go to eat lunch, it is a taco bar.
[00:08:50] Speaker B: Tell the story about them confusing the taco bar with, like, lunch and dinner, getting it mixed up.
[00:08:55] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:08:56] Speaker B: Potatoes and the tortillas and all that.
[00:08:58] Speaker A: That's where I'm kind of heading is when you go to taco bars and venues that have no business doing Tex.
[00:09:05] Speaker C: Mex and you're a Texan, you are.
[00:09:08] Speaker A: Setting yourself up to be either wildly.
[00:09:10] Speaker C: Impressed or incredibly disappointed.
[00:09:13] Speaker A: And when it comes to taco bars, it seems like that's the only two things people can do. There is no middle ground there.
[00:09:18] Speaker C: They either impress you or completely disappoint you.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: We get to this first town, and.
[00:09:24] Speaker C: Lord bless them, it's a small town.
[00:09:26] Speaker A: They don't do a whole lot of these bigger shows.
[00:09:29] Speaker C: This venue is 500 people, and it's.
[00:09:31] Speaker A: One of those kind of venues where they have a lot of random stuff.
[00:09:34] Speaker C: Come through that you've never heard of before. And then suddenly Travis trit shows up.
[00:09:39] Speaker A: So we were doing this show, and they pull out lunch, and they're getting it catered from a local restaurant. I don't know what the restaurant is. I don't want to shout anybody out.
[00:09:48] Speaker C: And piss them off here, but they.
[00:09:52] Speaker A: Bring our lunch, and it is a taco bar.
[00:09:55] Speaker C: They bring tortillas, two types of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and that's about it for the tacos.
[00:10:02] Speaker A: And then right next to the tacos.
[00:10:04] Speaker C: There'S a basket of breadsticks and a tinfoil pan full of mashed potatoes. And I was confused.
[00:10:11] Speaker A: I was absolutely as confused as I've ever been. I was like, why do we have.
[00:10:15] Speaker C: Mashed potatoes at a taco bar?
[00:10:16] Speaker A: Is it like irish potato or irish tacos or something? Like, I have no idea.
[00:10:20] Speaker C: Shepherd's tacos? What's going on here?
We get around to dinner now, later, and they bring these little tiny cut up pieces of sirloin tip steaks, a thing of mixed vegetables, and then all of the grilled fajita veggies that were.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: Supposed to be there for lunch. And because somebody didn't like the tacos.
[00:10:44] Speaker C: And wanted to go eat anything else.
[00:10:45] Speaker A: They ate out of the mashed potato bin.
[00:10:47] Speaker C: They took the mashed potatoes back.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: So we ended up having a dinner.
[00:10:50] Speaker C: Of steak tips, mixed vegetables, and basically.
[00:10:54] Speaker A: What amounted to grilled onions with an.
[00:10:56] Speaker C: Occasional bell pepper mixed in.
[00:10:58] Speaker A: And you're talking, that's my birthday on top of it, by the way. I'm turning 30 that day, and this is my birthday dinner. And I get grilled fajita veggies, mixed.
[00:11:06] Speaker C: Vegetables, and some sirloin tip steaks.
[00:11:09] Speaker A: Man, you just talk about some just wild catering. That was one of the weirdest ones.
[00:11:14] Speaker C: Where it's just like, bless their hearts.
[00:11:15] Speaker A: They did their best.
[00:11:17] Speaker B: Yeah, it happens. They should have just mixed up, I think, the size that were supposed to go with one thing, that should have.
[00:11:23] Speaker C: Went with the other.
[00:11:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:24] Speaker B: What it sounds like.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: That's exactly what happened. And it was just so goofy.
[00:11:29] Speaker C: It was so funny. But then we go to the next.
[00:11:31] Speaker A: Day and we get this guy's name is Chris Lilly.
[00:11:35] Speaker C: He does barbecue on the food network.
[00:11:37] Speaker A: A lot, and he brought some barbecue that knocked my socks off.
[00:11:41] Speaker C: And most stereotypical day of catering ever.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: The lunch was a taco bar and.
[00:11:47] Speaker C: The dinner was barbecue.
[00:11:48] Speaker A: That's what we get all the time.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: And when they came in and told.
[00:11:51] Speaker A: Me, oh, it's going to be some of the best barbecue you've ever eaten, we've all got stories about that one.
[00:11:56] Speaker C: On the road, and this actually genuinely.
[00:11:59] Speaker A: Was the best barbecue I'd ever put.
[00:12:01] Speaker C: In my mouth, period. If someone tells you on the road.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: That this is going to be the.
[00:12:08] Speaker C: Best insert food you've ever had, there's.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: A 99% chance that it is not.
[00:12:15] Speaker C: Going to be the best whatever food.
[00:12:18] Speaker B: They said it was going to be.
[00:12:19] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:12:22] Speaker A: It seems the smaller the town, the larger the brag it usually is.
[00:12:27] Speaker B: You had a banana pudding one too this weekend, you said, right?
[00:12:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:30] Speaker A: Same place as the mixed up lunches. They were telling me, man, you got to try this banana pudding. Some of the best banana pudding you'll ever eat in your life.
[00:12:36] Speaker C: And I tried it.
It was banana pudding.
[00:12:43] Speaker B: Mama made it, as you said, that was about some cheese they labeled as guacamole.
[00:12:48] Speaker A: Later on that weekend, at our third taco bar of the weekend, fifth in a row, it was Cinco de Mayo.
[00:12:53] Speaker C: I guess they put out all the.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: Condiments for your tacos and they had the cheese labeled as guacamole. And I found that to be funny.
[00:13:01] Speaker C: So I posted that online.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: You can follow me for all this random crap that I see on the.
[00:13:05] Speaker C: Road because you get bored out there, man.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: You got to do something.
[00:13:09] Speaker C: Totally. So I can find my own fun.
But anyway, we had a good weekend.
[00:13:15] Speaker A: We got back and survived the whole thing, taco bars and all.
[00:13:18] Speaker C: I have now officially become a walking taco.
[00:13:22] Speaker A: Honestly, at this point, I'm going to.
[00:13:23] Speaker C: Be disappointed if it's not tacos at our first show of the week next week, wherever that ends up being. I couldn't tell you where it is.
[00:13:32] Speaker B: Well, I'm very excited about coming to the cave show.
I think we kind of did. We hit on that last week? I don't remember.
[00:13:41] Speaker A: We hit on it a little bit, but, yeah, we're going to the cavern.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: Super.
[00:13:44] Speaker B: I'm, like, super pumped.
[00:13:45] Speaker C: Lindsay's pumped.
[00:13:47] Speaker B: I actually have a green shirt and a green hat that I'm wearing for St. Patrick's Day, so I'm excited about that, too.
[00:13:54] Speaker C: Love it.
[00:13:54] Speaker B: Maybe we can find us some green beer somewhere, maybe.
[00:13:57] Speaker C: Mon eagle.
[00:13:58] Speaker A: Yeah, it's right up by.
[00:14:01] Speaker C: Just see what we can locate.
[00:14:04] Speaker B: Yeah, that'll be fun. That'll be really.
Las Vegas, Phoenix.
[00:14:12] Speaker A: Hell, yeah.
[00:14:13] Speaker B: I was still thinking reminiscent on how fun Vegas was.
[00:14:16] Speaker A: Yeah, because Larson wins, usually.
[00:14:18] Speaker B: I had to think about something else.
[00:14:19] Speaker C: While I was watching this race.
[00:14:24] Speaker B: I said when you were off the camera, you hated it.
[00:14:27] Speaker C: No, I didn't hate it.
[00:14:28] Speaker B: My exact quote was.
[00:14:32] Speaker C: For Phoenix standards. I thought the race was better, but.
[00:14:36] Speaker B: I did not think the race was good.
[00:14:39] Speaker A: I get what you're saying. Kind of like if you're in the basement and you take one step up the stairwell, out of the basement, you're.
[00:14:44] Speaker C: Still technically in the basement. Yeah.
[00:14:46] Speaker B: I've never heard that saying, but, yeah.
[00:14:50] Speaker A: I just made that up. That's it.
[00:14:53] Speaker B: I voted no on the poll, and I don't vote no a lot, but I voted no because the question was.
[00:15:00] Speaker C: Is Phoenix a good race?
[00:15:02] Speaker B: I did not think it was a good race. I just thought it was better than normal Phoenix. Like, it had more passing.
[00:15:09] Speaker C: There's a little more fall off. But you saw it with Bell and then you saw it with Truex.
[00:15:16] Speaker B: Even on old tires. Once those guys got in the front.
[00:15:19] Speaker C: They could drive away on old tires.
[00:15:23] Speaker B: So I don't understand that. I want to say Bell has won races like this before. Even last season where he ran in like, the 20s marred back in traffic.
[00:15:35] Speaker C: And just ran back there and used.
[00:15:38] Speaker B: Some kind of strategy to get up front. And then once you're up front and if you can get literally up front.
[00:15:43] Speaker C: To the first it and get in the lead, it's hard to pass if.
[00:15:49] Speaker B: You have a legit car.
[00:15:51] Speaker C: Like legit as in, like he's in.
[00:15:53] Speaker B: A Joe Gibbs car. The cars, even if it's handling bad, it's still good. You know what?
[00:15:58] Speaker A: Exactly. I mean, you see that early on in the race, whenever Denny Hamlin's trying to pass Ty Gibbs for the lead and never can quite complete it, and then Ty Gibbs just stays in the lead again.
[00:16:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:16:08] Speaker B: And I just kind of had that the whole time. And I think it was Reddick that passed. Was it Gibbs at the end? Like, towards the end of that? Yeah, to win. And the thing was, Reddick's car was.
[00:16:20] Speaker C: So much better than Gibbs, but he.
[00:16:22] Speaker B: Could not get around him until the very end.
[00:16:26] Speaker C: Just. I don't, don't.
[00:16:30] Speaker B: I cannot believe Phoenix is where they freaking have the championship race. On the tear down, though, Jordan Bianchi.
[00:16:38] Speaker C: Says that this is the last year of Phoenix.
Why did he say that? Do what? Why did he say that?
[00:16:46] Speaker B: I don't know why, but he said he has been told. And this is coming from a guy that's been reporting NASCAR. For as long as I've been watching.
[00:16:54] Speaker C: NASCAR, he's been in the garage, and.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: They usually quote, like, he has a big thing.
He's never falsely.
Everything he says happens. You know what mean? Like, he doesn't just post stuff to post it or he has like, a credible source before he posts or says something.
[00:17:15] Speaker C: So that's what makes me have some.
[00:17:17] Speaker B: Sort of believe this somewhat. But they say that 2025, he said that 2025 he is hearing it's going back to Miami.
[00:17:29] Speaker C: Okay. Which that could be great.
[00:17:31] Speaker B: And this car is awesome. I love to hear that, if that's the case.
[00:17:36] Speaker C: And the thing is, Phoenix is the track.
[00:17:39] Speaker B: I don't even know why Phoenix has.
[00:17:41] Speaker C: Two dates, much less the championship race. I think it just sells.
[00:17:46] Speaker B: Guess I know everybody loves Phoenix and everybody moves to Phoenix when they retire, and it's great and it never rains, and the weather's always awesome.
[00:17:53] Speaker C: And that's all awesome.
[00:17:55] Speaker B: And I'm glad everything around Phoenix is.
[00:17:57] Speaker C: Great, but the racetrack is not great.
[00:18:00] Speaker B: And everybody jokes about, like, James McMurray most famous quota flag you've ever said. He was like, there hasn't been a good race at Phoenix since 1989. And even back in 2016 when Harvick.
[00:18:15] Speaker C: And Carl Edwards went across the line.
[00:18:18] Speaker B: Beating and banging side by side, it was kind of what me and you talked about at Atlanta. That was one of those deals where the finish was immaculate, incredible, awesome. But the race was still not a.
[00:18:27] Speaker C: Great race like Atlanta was.
[00:18:30] Speaker B: It had a great race. It was exciting the whole time, and then also had a great finish.
[00:18:34] Speaker C: So it's just like, Phoenix has never really produced anything ever that was just, like, awesome.
[00:18:42] Speaker B: Oh, my know, whatever.
[00:18:44] Speaker C: And it's the freaking championship race. And I sent you.
[00:18:51] Speaker B: Jeff Glucken ended up making, like, a post that had all of his tweets cropped into one picture, and it was like ten of them. But when he was posting them by theirselves, I actually sent every one of them to you.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: I saw every single person that was coming through that you were sending, just.
[00:19:06] Speaker C: How much they were talking crap about.
[00:19:09] Speaker A: How little that change made.
[00:19:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: And Chase Elliot, I loved his quote. They just were hounding him. He's like, look, I'll be straight up with you. I wouldn't even know that anything was changed unless they told me. The only way that it feels any.
[00:19:23] Speaker C: Different is because they tell me it's different.
[00:19:25] Speaker B: And then you had Briscoe, who said that he thought it was better.
[00:19:29] Speaker C: He was.
[00:19:29] Speaker B: The only one that had anything positive say was Briscoe. And then he said he was surprised to get on Twitter and see how many of the drivers were bashing on it.
[00:19:36] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:37] Speaker B: And then Denny Hamlin says, I was.
[00:19:40] Speaker C: Just about to bring him up. Yeah.
[00:19:41] Speaker B: Denny says he was like, according to the facts, according to the data, it.
[00:19:47] Speaker C: Is a little bit better, but it doesn't change anything. And then Denny goes up on the podium when he's talking, and he just.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: Doubles down and says, literally, we could get 250 more horsepower in these cars.
[00:20:03] Speaker C: With a phone call.
[00:20:04] Speaker B: He's like, it could be done by the next race.
[00:20:06] Speaker A: Just pull that damn tapered spacer out or make the holes bigger or something. Yeah, and he'd be that simple.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: Doubles down on all that, and it's just all confusing to take in, and no one understands and the drivers don't understand.
And then on top of that, Fox was just being Fox yesterday, and there's a commercial every 3 seconds, and they're going to commercial when the damn leaders are literally trying to pass for the first lead. Change of the race. I know, Ty Gibbs, I said that.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: Earlier, that it was Denny ham when making the passive lead.
[00:20:36] Speaker C: You're right, it was Eric Jones. It's just brutal.
[00:20:38] Speaker B: I think Denny was up there later on with, like, Reddick or someone, which that's what I thought you were talking about, but still, like, just so it was just kind of just all in all, frustrating. And naturally, I'm having a couple drinks, and I'm posting about on Twitter, and I'm effing this car and f in.
[00:20:55] Speaker C: This racetrack and f'in Fox but that's.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Just how I felt.
[00:21:01] Speaker B: I just can't stand this racetrack. And the more I think about it, I just don't think I've ever liked Phoenix. I talked to my dad about it.
[00:21:07] Speaker C: I don't think Phoenix just is not great ever. I don't care what car you put on it. Yeah, I think with the championship race.
[00:21:16] Speaker A: I really feel like the reason that.
[00:21:18] Speaker C: It'S there, and this is complete conjecture, but I wonder if it takes place.
[00:21:24] Speaker A: There because it's got one of the.
[00:21:26] Speaker C: Least, the smallest possibilities of having one.
[00:21:31] Speaker A: Of the championship for wreck out, because.
[00:21:34] Speaker C: There'S hardly any wrecks.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: And rain definitely is another good point.
[00:21:39] Speaker B: And there's only a handful of tracks.
[00:21:43] Speaker C: You could even take the championship race to in November. Yeah, it's true.
[00:21:48] Speaker B: Denny Hamlin and those guys, like he said one time, he wants to race at Kansas, but it's like, you can't race at Kansas in November because it's going to be 20 degrees.
[00:21:56] Speaker A: Nobody's going to be there.
[00:21:57] Speaker C: Yeah, there's better race that sells well.
[00:22:01] Speaker A: That's got to be good in November. It's got to have a low possibility of getting rained out, which Miami technically doesn't have that.
[00:22:08] Speaker C: But it's November, so it's at least not as rainy as it could be.
[00:22:12] Speaker A: Yeah, but it's also got to be a track that's not absolutely crazy because, I mean, you can technically go, it's.
[00:22:17] Speaker C: Warm enough in Tennessee.
[00:22:19] Speaker A: Let's just pretend the weather wasn't a factor at Bristol.
[00:22:22] Speaker C: You could go to Bristol, but the.
[00:22:24] Speaker A: ODs of one of your championship four getting wrecked out, or all four of them are just a lot higher on that tight of a track.
[00:22:30] Speaker C: So now all of a sudden you've.
[00:22:31] Speaker A: Got a race, but now I don't got everybody.
[00:22:34] Speaker B: Well, yes, now it'd be different next week. We hot Bristol up so much and it even is so bad now. Delarin Hart Jr. Doesn't even hype Bristol up no more.
[00:22:44] Speaker A: Yeah, and that says a lot.
[00:22:46] Speaker C: Bristol is going to suck next week.
[00:22:49] Speaker B: It just is. And I hate to suck.
[00:22:52] Speaker A: I don't want to agree with you.
[00:22:54] Speaker C: But I have to agree with you.
[00:22:55] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just like I've said this. Proofs in the pudding. I've been listening to our podcast. I said that every single podcast, but it is true.
We have seen Bristol in the next gen car, and it is literally like looking at slot cars driving around in.
[00:23:12] Speaker C: A little bitty half mile oval. It is.
[00:23:14] Speaker A: They're just glued to the dang track.
[00:23:16] Speaker B: And there's just like, nothing.
[00:23:19] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:23:20] Speaker B: I don't know what to say. I mean, we're going to go to Bristol and it's like, you can't piss.
[00:23:25] Speaker C: On me and tell me it's raining.
[00:23:27] Speaker B: And that's what they do with Bristol specifically. They hop it up, hop it up, hop it up.
[00:23:32] Speaker C: And then we get there and it's.
[00:23:36] Speaker B: Just, it's just slot cars driving around. And this is the season, or like.
[00:23:40] Speaker C: This is the part that I can't.
[00:23:42] Speaker B: Remember what all is next on the.
[00:23:43] Speaker C: Schedule, but where there is with the new car, and we talked about it.
[00:23:50] Speaker B: Before, mile and house, the other car, but there's lulls in the know where you have like a Phoenix and a Bristol.
[00:23:56] Speaker A: You want to hear what the lull is?
[00:23:57] Speaker C: We've got next race, Bristol race after that, coda.
[00:24:02] Speaker A: Next race after that, Richmond.
[00:24:03] Speaker C: Next race after that, Martinsville.
[00:24:06] Speaker A: That is four races in a row.
[00:24:08] Speaker C: On tracks that this car really struggles with.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: Bristol.
[00:24:14] Speaker C: Martinsville should be two of the most.
[00:24:17] Speaker A: Marquee, highest grossing, exciting events of the year.
[00:24:22] Speaker C: And they used to be flat.
[00:24:24] Speaker A: Now, in this car, Richmond has not had a soul since.
[00:24:28] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[00:24:28] Speaker A: Dale Jr. Got dumped by Kyle Bush.
[00:24:30] Speaker B: Oh, God. Richmond has been bad for a long.
[00:24:34] Speaker A: For a really long.
[00:24:35] Speaker B: Bristol was bad. Bristol was even.
[00:24:38] Speaker C: Bristol, Richmond was bad.
[00:24:40] Speaker B: Even in the other car, the car.
[00:24:42] Speaker C: Before this, Richmond's been bad for a long time, unfortunately, yes.
[00:24:48] Speaker A: And what we're trying to say is this is going to be a long.
[00:24:52] Speaker C: Month long streak of races that are.
[00:24:55] Speaker A: Going to not be fun.
[00:24:56] Speaker C: And then Texas is right after that. Oh, God.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Finally you get to Talladega. So realistically, it's five races in a row that are going to just kind of phoenix, right? Well, I guess if you throw that in there, six really tough racetracks for this car, right, in a row, and.
[00:25:13] Speaker C: Then you go to Talladega and we're back at what opened the season and tons of fun and Blaney win. So.
[00:25:21] Speaker B: Yeah, and that's the thing. I'm not trying to be. Mr. Oh, my know, we got to only be excited about plate tracks.
[00:25:28] Speaker C: But when you hit a lull, like, mean Coda last year, Coda since they've.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: Been there, the first year it was.
[00:25:36] Speaker C: Pouring down rain, and then the second.
[00:25:38] Speaker A: Year, it's just, they just run over.
[00:25:40] Speaker B: Each other and there's really no respect. I mean, you go and they just dive bomb the corner. So between that and then just being a road course. Yeah.
I mean, dude, we were watching that.
[00:25:52] Speaker C: Race last year in rehearsals, and that's.
[00:25:56] Speaker B: When Reddick was just, Reddick would hit and he'd get on the wrong pit cycle in his car. He was so much faster by it. It didn't matter what pit cycle he was on. He just came back around.
[00:26:05] Speaker A: He max verstappen it. Yeah.
[00:26:08] Speaker C: So I don't know.
[00:26:11] Speaker B: I'm not trying to be Debbie downer, but it's just like, you can't just keep telling me this is so cool when the product isn't going to be cool next.
[00:26:22] Speaker A: We've had a great year so far. All the races have been really good. Phoenix was a step up over what it was, but it's still not where.
[00:26:28] Speaker C: It needs to be.
[00:26:30] Speaker A: And I think NASCAR is going to start feeling that pressure at some point. It's like, okay, we keep throwing spaghetti at the wall and nothing's sticking right.
[00:26:37] Speaker C: Now, and we've got a pretty good.
[00:26:40] Speaker A: Idea of something that might be a.
[00:26:41] Speaker C: Major, drastic change, but something that could.
[00:26:44] Speaker A: At least get us hyped for the races. I mean, 90% of getting people to watch the races is being excited about.
[00:26:51] Speaker C: The races before they happen. And just like we're saying, we got five weeks in a row of some bull and we could use something that.
[00:27:01] Speaker A: Would bring a little bit of extra intrigue.
[00:27:04] Speaker C: And like I said last week, just do it and laugh at us when we're wrong.
[00:27:09] Speaker A: But at least let us have our moment to tell you that there might be something that works.
[00:27:14] Speaker C: Let's give it a shot. And if it doesn't work, I got plenty of crows stocked up from all these tweets I'm about to start firing off every week.
I'm going to be banned from the.
[00:27:25] Speaker A: 20 pit box, by the way, it.
[00:27:26] Speaker B: Reminds me kind of like they talk about like an NFL owner when they're feeling the pressure of whether it be like a head coach or a quarterback. And maybe deep down that owner is like, man, I want to give so and so another year, another chance. But they're feeling so much pressure from the fan base, so much pressure to.
[00:27:42] Speaker C: Make something happen that they pay their.
[00:27:46] Speaker B: Bills on people showing up to them games. And it's just like it was literally the example of the Falcons last year. Something had to be done because people were just going to quit showing up. You got to make changes to keep.
[00:27:58] Speaker C: People fired up, whether deep down that.
[00:28:02] Speaker B: Owner believes that that's what's going to happen or not, you have to make changes to get people fired up. And that's exactly what you just said.
[00:28:08] Speaker C: And I love that analogy.
[00:28:09] Speaker B: And it's true.
Even adding a couple of hundred horsepower for next week would get people like, oh, hell yeah. I just can't wait to see what it looks like. Yeah. And even if it get me whatever.
[00:28:20] Speaker C: But it's like, at least it would fire you up a little bit.
[00:28:24] Speaker A: Exactly. But whenever the throttle response of this car is so low that there's really no penalty for dropping off the gas and there's no penalty for over revving.
[00:28:34] Speaker C: The engine to break your tires free, I mean, there's only really so much.
[00:28:39] Speaker A: You can do to make a mistake at this point. They've made driving the car so easy.
[00:28:43] Speaker C: That these guys are professional race car drivers. They're not going to make mistakes in this car that are unprompted. Yeah.
[00:28:51] Speaker A: So here's hoping we don't get slot cars again.
[00:28:54] Speaker C: Let's make that phone call NASCAR. Yeah.
And I hope that it's awesome.
[00:29:00] Speaker B: I really do. I hope that it's awesome. But I just know that's just me hoping.
[00:29:04] Speaker C: And I'm going to keep voting no until it is awesome because they got.
[00:29:09] Speaker A: To feel the pressure.
[00:29:10] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:29:10] Speaker B: Not freaking NASCAR probably does. Look at Jeff Gold's Glux poll, honestly.
[00:29:16] Speaker A: Oh, they have to. It's a great barometer.
[00:29:18] Speaker C: Yeah, it is as big as it's gotten over the years.
[00:29:24] Speaker B: Anyways, what did you think about was.
[00:29:28] Speaker A: I actually voted yes. I still have some of my youthful enthusiasm because I've only been watching for so long. I don't have years and years and.
[00:29:36] Speaker C: Years to fall back on where I still know a boring race when I see one. I thought the improvements were good for the mid pack racing.
And of course, being a Blaney fan.
[00:29:46] Speaker A: I was watching his progress through the.
[00:29:48] Speaker C: Field and a couple of other guys like Ty Gibbs, he had a really.
[00:29:52] Speaker A: Damn good car yesterday.
[00:29:53] Speaker C: Finished top three right.
[00:29:59] Speaker A: He got fifth. We ended up having a really good mid pack race.
[00:30:05] Speaker C: Now, the problem is that mid pack does not go to victory lane, but.
[00:30:10] Speaker A: It made it interesting just in that regard. Some trends got broken. There was some side by side racing for once in both ends of the.
[00:30:18] Speaker C: Track that didn't rely on one groove being overly to a point where the.
[00:30:23] Speaker A: Other groove was such a detriment that if you were in it, you were.
[00:30:26] Speaker C: Going to get passed.
[00:30:27] Speaker A: It was like you could hold your ground a little bit.
[00:30:28] Speaker C: So there was sometimes where a pass for position took multiple corners to actually end up finishing the move.
[00:30:36] Speaker A: So I had a lot of fun watching that.
[00:30:39] Speaker C: And interesting enough, we had Blaney's at.
[00:30:44] Speaker A: A track that he really enjoys.
[00:30:45] Speaker C: He was doing well.
[00:30:46] Speaker A: True X was having an unusually good day as well. So Allison was super into it, and then our RFK guys, they both finished in the top five. Chris Busher.
[00:30:55] Speaker B: I was pumped about that.
[00:30:56] Speaker C: Put together a race win there.
[00:30:59] Speaker B: I was pumped about RFK.
Is that the first time that both cars have finished in the top five?
[00:31:04] Speaker A: I don't know. We'd probably have to ask Brandon on that one. I couldn't tell you specifically. I feel like they've had some races where they both achieved pretty good.
[00:31:12] Speaker B: Yeah, they've definitely had race where they're both top ten and ran well, but.
[00:31:18] Speaker C: It was a great day for those guys.
I guess my problem with taking a couple of laps to pass someone, I'm not opposed to that, by no means at all.
[00:31:31] Speaker B: But it's like when a car gets around a guy and then drives off.
[00:31:37] Speaker C: To a 3.4 2nd lead, it was.
[00:31:40] Speaker B: Like, damn, that guy was like he was getting held up. Even though his car was that much better.
It didn't matter because he couldn't get around him. And it was even like when Ty Gibbs was leading, as soon as the.
[00:31:56] Speaker C: Car got around him, Ty Gibbs couldn't do much.
[00:31:59] Speaker B: And that happened a couple, you know.
[00:32:01] Speaker C: And it was just like, that's true.
[00:32:03] Speaker B: Those guys even. They stayed out and they stayed out and they stayed.
[00:32:08] Speaker C: You know, it's a great call, it.
[00:32:10] Speaker B: Sounds, but, like, I don't think a.
[00:32:12] Speaker C: Car on that quote unquote, that wore out of tire should be able to.
[00:32:18] Speaker B: Just drive away from the field just.
[00:32:20] Speaker C: Because of circumstances with not being able to pass.
[00:32:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I feel like I kind of got more wrapped up into it less on the technical side, and I got wrapped up into Phoenix more in a community way, putting that tweet out there at the beginning and then seeing how.
[00:32:36] Speaker B: Well, Christopher, you wanted to be there in the sunshine.
[00:32:40] Speaker A: Exactly. I was putting stuff on Twitter, I was texting with you, I was hanging out with Allison.
[00:32:45] Speaker C: She was kind of into a. I.
[00:32:47] Speaker A: Just had a really good time watching the race and there was enough things going on for our guys, and I had that tweet.
[00:32:53] Speaker C: I was waiting to age like milk, and there was just a bunch of really cool stuff going on for me.
[00:33:00] Speaker A: Personally as I was watching it, that made it more intriguing than it would have been if I was just sitting it. If I was just sitting on the road watching it in the bus.
[00:33:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I would have been probably bored to tears, but I managed to make.
[00:33:11] Speaker A: A boring race fun for me.
[00:33:13] Speaker C: And I think it helped that it.
[00:33:14] Speaker A: Was a better race than it was. So I was pleasantly surprised there and.
[00:33:18] Speaker C: Then just had things going in my enjoyment.
[00:33:22] Speaker B: I have fun watching a race no matter what. Next week at Bristol when they just run around and can't do anything. I'm going to have fun because I'm going to be sitting there doing my favorite thing in the world, watching a race, having a drink, probably cooking something, hanging out with Lindsay.
All my favorite things. But when I have to get down into calling a spade a spade, it's.
[00:33:46] Speaker C: Like what is this and what are we? It just.
[00:33:52] Speaker B: The thing that drives me bonkers is.
[00:33:57] Speaker C: Phoenix gets hyped up because it's championship race. They hype Phoenix up and then you see a race like that and you're like, oh well. And then Bristol still lives off the old hop of being the most exciting racetrack out there. And then you watch it and it's.
[00:34:16] Speaker B: And that's just like the way I feel. It's like they literally are pissing on you and telling you it's raining.
[00:34:21] Speaker C: That's the know analogy I have for it. And that's what it feels. Yeah, it's not just from, well, drivers.
[00:34:29] Speaker B: Don'T hype it up, but like TV and NASCAR and their social medias.
[00:34:33] Speaker C: Like all the damn. The only recent cool thing they can.
[00:34:39] Speaker B: Post about Bristol is when Kevin Harvick and Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott all got into that squabble. And Chase is blocking Harvick and stuff.
[00:34:50] Speaker A: Down like his helmet on his roof, literally.
[00:34:53] Speaker B: Other than that, they have to promote Bristol with freaking two wrecks that Earnhardt when wrecked, Terry Labani. Or they throw the famous one of Rusty Wallace and Jeff Gordon. Jeff giving Rusty the can't. They don't ever promote it with new.
[00:35:08] Speaker C: Stuff because there ain't nothing to promote.
[00:35:11] Speaker A: Yeah, it's true.
[00:35:12] Speaker B: And then Phoenix, they just promote the.
[00:35:14] Speaker C: Championship people from the previous year.
[00:35:17] Speaker A: Yeah, that's where the hype from Phoenix comes from. Yeah, that's it.
[00:35:21] Speaker C: So it's just like, golly, if they had to make a promo of the last like six races at Bristol, what would they post? Yeah, I mean if you're talking in.
[00:35:34] Speaker A: The next genera, I can't think of anything that's really gone on.
[00:35:38] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying.
Even that race that I was talking about with Harvickin, that was in 2021, that was with the old car.
[00:35:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:45] Speaker A: The only other one I can even think of recently was when Matt Di Benedetto was on his high strain.
Everybody was all excited about that, but.
[00:35:54] Speaker B: That was because it was Matt Di Benedetto in a low team and he's leading and all that.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a cool moment.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: Ryan's blocking the hell out of him. That sold because it was at that time, Matt Di Benedetto was, like on top of the world.
[00:36:09] Speaker C: Like, everyone liked Matt Di Benedetto, and now he doesn't even have a ride.
[00:36:14] Speaker B: Anymore and no one likes him and.
[00:36:15] Speaker C: He pisses everyone off.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: But that's kind of where we ended up, is we're on this next gen car and we need exciting stuff to happen.
[00:36:23] Speaker B: Totally.
[00:36:24] Speaker C: Let's hope for a change at some point soon.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: I just don't know what it's going.
[00:36:29] Speaker C: To take to finally convince them to do it. Me neither. But I'm going to stick on the.
[00:36:36] Speaker B: Asshole train, I guess, just while I'm on it.
[00:36:39] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:36:40] Speaker A: Just know, every week for the next five weeks, we already know where Dawson's vote is.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: Lying. Possibly.
[00:36:45] Speaker B: Now, if something happens and it's awesome, I'll be the first to say, that was awesome and I enjoyed it. You know, whatever. I'll be the first.
[00:36:52] Speaker A: If you think racing on a short track is going to be good, you're a clown. You should post that on Twitter.
[00:36:56] Speaker B: Yeah, pretty much. That's how I feel. I really do feel that. But see, but a lot of people.
[00:36:59] Speaker C: Would agree with that statement. Yeah, but I know we normally do.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: This at the end of the show, but I'm going to throw this in here on the 36 minutes mark, hack.
[00:37:08] Speaker C: Of the week, because I've been ready.
[00:37:09] Speaker A: He's going for it early. He was so excited to say it, he just couldn't wait.
[00:37:13] Speaker B: I've been waiting to say this.
[00:37:15] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I can't wait.
[00:37:17] Speaker C: Hack of the week, control tower.
[00:37:20] Speaker B: The xfinity race. Matt Weaver even says, like, this isn't the greatest showing of the tower today.
[00:37:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:37:26] Speaker C: Okay.
What in the absolute hell was the caution for Haley Deegan getting loose?
[00:37:37] Speaker B: They threw a caution because phoenix blows.
The xfinity race was awful. They're strung the hell out and they needed some excitement. So Haley Deegan literally gets loose.
[00:37:50] Speaker C: Loose.
[00:37:52] Speaker A: I can hear Adam Alexander right now.
[00:37:54] Speaker C: Caution on the track for sucking as a racetrack.
[00:37:59] Speaker B: It was mind blowing.
[00:38:01] Speaker C: So they throw the caution for Haley Deegan getting loose.
[00:38:05] Speaker B: I mean, she still had control of the car. She didn't spin, she didn't wreck, she didn't touch anything. Nothing.
[00:38:09] Speaker A: She wasn't really that close to anybody.
[00:38:12] Speaker B: Oh, my God.
[00:38:13] Speaker C: Not even smoke coming out.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: Not even smoke. So she gets loose. They throw a caution. And you're right, the announcers are like, there has to be debris or something out there and they don't have nothing to say.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: Yeah they no clue.
[00:38:27] Speaker B: Piss on me again and tell me it's raining while they throw this caution dish rag. Excitement caution and we get everybody all jumbled up and then boom they get exactly what they wanted with a twelve car pile up on the front stretch or the back stretch.
[00:38:40] Speaker C: Now they got exactly what they wanted out of that. They threw a caution for some BS.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: To wad up a bunch of cars for people to get excited because there.
[00:38:52] Speaker C: Was a huge wreck.
[00:38:54] Speaker A: Yeah manufactured bullshit at that point.
[00:38:57] Speaker C: It was bullshit. That was bullshit to throw that caution. It very much was.
[00:39:05] Speaker A: I was waiting to hear exactly how you felt about it and I love that we got it 20 minutes earlier than typically.
[00:39:11] Speaker B: I feel so strongly about that that you could not sit down face to face with whoever. It's not Steve felt, whoever Elton Sawyer, whoever the hell runs the Xfinity series.
[00:39:26] Speaker C: And they could not give you an exact reason they threw that caution. Oh I bet.
[00:39:33] Speaker A: I'm sure there was some interview somewhere that we haven't seen yet that talks about oh we threw it because of this and this.
[00:39:38] Speaker B: Yeah it's horseshit.
[00:39:39] Speaker C: Nobody believes it. Yeah it's horseshit. All the rattlesnake on the hill, absolute bull baloney dookie bullshit.
[00:39:52] Speaker A: Going to town.
[00:39:53] Speaker C: On him and then he wide twelve cars up all front running cars too.
[00:39:57] Speaker B: The wreck starts in second place and it just wrecks all the damn. Anyone from that was second to 25th.
[00:40:04] Speaker A: Gets called to win too. Yeah it was wild.
[00:40:09] Speaker C: That could happen naturally, you just never know like the Justin algae thing. Justin algae they think and he blows.
[00:40:19] Speaker B: A tire with four to go, three to go, whatever it was and absolutely smokes the wall. I mean I hated that for Justin Algae.
[00:40:25] Speaker C: Oh yeah his car looked like a.
[00:40:27] Speaker A: Tuna can that got put through the.
[00:40:30] Speaker B: I kind of love when he picks up the deck lid and just tosses it back on the car.
[00:40:33] Speaker C: I kind of thought that was kind of cool. I kind of like that I didn't.
[00:40:36] Speaker A: See that part right as I started getting busy that day was whenever that wreck went down at the end of.
[00:40:41] Speaker B: It just to keep on my train.
[00:40:43] Speaker C: Here, Jamie Little is so awesome. On pit road. So awesome. Jamie Little in the booth, so not awesome. It is terrible and it's terrible.
[00:40:56] Speaker B: And then to cap off the whole shit show when they're signing off, thank you the fans, thank you to the sponsors, thank you to this, it was a great day here, whatever. And congrats to Justin Algier almost immediately.
[00:41:12] Speaker C: As they're showing this man blowing the wall down.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: She says, congrats, justin Algier, on your big win today.
[00:41:18] Speaker A: I think everyone said on Twitter that that was like a pre recorded thing.
[00:41:23] Speaker B: I told you that they said it.
[00:41:24] Speaker C: Was pre recorded, but still, how do you get through the cracks?
[00:41:28] Speaker A: Yeah, Fox got a fox, man.
[00:41:30] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying. How does that get through the cracks? At the end of the race, when that car wrecked, the producer, somebody's like, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[00:41:36] Speaker C: Let's get us another one.
Know we got to wait now to the end.
[00:41:41] Speaker B: Like, golly, what in the absolute hell?
[00:41:44] Speaker C: How does that happen?
[00:41:45] Speaker B: And I saw someone post on Twitter, it's like, fox is one of the main reasons that NASCAR cannot be taken seriously. And I agree with that 1000%.
[00:41:55] Speaker C: They just do some shit that you're just like, what?
[00:41:59] Speaker A: Yeah, it's very much all over the place.
[00:42:01] Speaker B: It's all over the place. There's no consistency.
[00:42:04] Speaker C: They say the wrong thing, and sometimes the calls have no excitement.
[00:42:11] Speaker B: We have more excitement right now talking about than they did when Justin Algar, the leader, hits the wall.
[00:42:16] Speaker C: Just, oh, no. Oh, no. There you go.
[00:42:19] Speaker A: Silent and dead air all the time.
[00:42:22] Speaker B: Dude, I told you yesterday, I'm so excited to see these new TV networks come in and spend some money. Get a booth together.
[00:42:29] Speaker C: That is like a professional booth. A professional booth.
[00:42:34] Speaker A: Yeah. They can just everybody from around the box universe of NASCAR affiliated.
[00:42:42] Speaker C: Totally.
[00:42:43] Speaker A: I mean, it's, it's like actually go out there and hire somebody.
[00:42:46] Speaker C: I mean, NBC puts people in positions.
[00:42:49] Speaker A: That they're uncomfortable with all the time.
[00:42:51] Speaker C: Because they know that they're good characters. Like putting Dale Jr. On the Olympics.
[00:42:55] Speaker A: Something that he probably doesn't know anything at all about. He's got to do and do all this research, but it's because he's such.
[00:43:00] Speaker C: A good person to have commentating anything like that that they're willing to put him in that position and trust that.
[00:43:07] Speaker A: He'S going to get the work done. To be able to be successful in.
[00:43:09] Speaker C: That position rather than finding people that are already good at the sport and.
[00:43:15] Speaker A: Putting them in a position to fail because it's not something that they're natural at.
[00:43:20] Speaker B: Exactly. It's just like how indy car and NBC puts Mike Torico on the Indy 500.
[00:43:25] Speaker C: Mike Toriko is a legend of football.
[00:43:29] Speaker B: Calling football games, has been calling football games my whole life. One of the lead play by play guys for NBC, and he goes out and does.
[00:43:40] Speaker C: Indy 500.
[00:43:41] Speaker B: And you would never know because he is a professional and it looks and feels like he belongs.
[00:43:47] Speaker A: Yeah, it makes it make sense. It is exciting. At the same time, I agree. I was thinking the same thing at the beginning of the race.
[00:43:54] Speaker C: Just listening to her say a couple.
[00:43:56] Speaker A: Of things, I was like, man, it.
[00:43:57] Speaker C: Just sounds awkward and forced.
I was telling you, it's like she's really good when she has the chance.
[00:44:05] Speaker A: To sit down and craft what she's.
[00:44:07] Speaker C: Going to say, knows exactly how to say it, when to speak, when to stop and do all these things when.
[00:44:14] Speaker A: It'S in a pre planned environment. But as soon as you put her in a position of just having to.
[00:44:19] Speaker C: Fill the air in between two other people, it's like that's not something that.
[00:44:24] Speaker A: Looks like it comes natural to her. And I love Jamie little. I think she's phenomenal at what she does and I think she's doing everything.
[00:44:31] Speaker C: That she can to make that booth work. But if you're going to be honest.
[00:44:35] Speaker A: And critical about it, yeah, it doesn't feel like it.
[00:44:40] Speaker C: You and I totally get like Adam.
[00:44:42] Speaker B: Alexander, he has a death in the family. They put Jamie little boom into the booth, put her in there and you have, she has experience with ARca and.
[00:44:52] Speaker C: But like, we have talked about this.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: Before, the truck production as a whole, not even just the broadcast, not the broadcasting, but as a whole, the truck series is just hanging on by a thread. And we said that before, but it's.
[00:45:06] Speaker C: Like, I don't know. I really don't mean why couldn't they.
[00:45:12] Speaker B: Got Mike Joy to come do the xfinity race?
[00:45:16] Speaker A: There's probably a good reason.
[00:45:18] Speaker B: There is probably. But it's just stuff like that, man. And it's like, I know people watch that and they're just know what is.
[00:45:25] Speaker C: Just, I don't know.
[00:45:26] Speaker B: I sound like a crotchety old man.
[00:45:28] Speaker A: I know, but I'm just, it's an interesting time because NASCAR is doing so.
[00:45:33] Speaker C: Many things right this and it's, a.
[00:45:36] Speaker A: Lot of things are starting to work in different situations, but there's still a couple times where things are happening that.
[00:45:42] Speaker C: Just aren't enough and just aren't quite what's necessary.
[00:45:50] Speaker A: So it's so funny to see the picture. Go back and know you have Atlanta where I compliment Fox on how good.
[00:45:56] Speaker C: They do, and then you come to.
[00:45:58] Speaker A: Phoenix and it's right back to the old ways. It's just like, it's inconsistent.
[00:46:02] Speaker C: And for as much as we're doing right, there's still some things to clean up and I think we all know what they are and it gets talked.
[00:46:10] Speaker A: About every day and eventually those things.
[00:46:13] Speaker C: Have just got to be cleaned up.
[00:46:15] Speaker A: And I agree with you. The competition of having Amazon come in.
[00:46:18] Speaker C: I'm excited to see what they do.
[00:46:20] Speaker A: Because I hope they knock it out of the park.
It starts to go more in the direction of, okay, Amazon's getting more now.
[00:46:27] Speaker C: Because they're doing so much better of a job.
[00:46:29] Speaker B: Same. And I remember as a kid, vividly remember if there was a lead change or something happening, they would push a commercial break. If there was a wreck, boom, stop it right in the middle of commercial, right back to it, and the cars would still be spinning. That's how fast they could get back to it.
[00:46:43] Speaker C: Yeah. Why is that not a thing now?
[00:46:46] Speaker A: Because we need money so bad?
[00:46:48] Speaker B: Is that really what it is?
[00:46:49] Speaker A: I feel like it is. Back in the day, NASCAR had a lot more leverage over the advertisers because.
[00:46:57] Speaker C: NASCAR had enough viewership that to even.
[00:47:01] Speaker A: Have a moment in the spotlight at.
[00:47:02] Speaker C: A NASCAR race was so valuable that.
[00:47:05] Speaker A: You were willing to take the risk and NASCAR could cut away and say.
[00:47:08] Speaker C: This is what people want to watch. So this is what we're going to show them. But nowadays we're so in between whether we're.
[00:47:16] Speaker A: Yeah, we're not as popular as we used to be.
[00:47:19] Speaker C: So nowadays I just feel like there's.
[00:47:21] Speaker A: A lot more leverage for the advertisers saying like, hey, we bought this spot.
[00:47:25] Speaker C: We want you to show it. Don't cut away from it. What are you doing?
[00:47:30] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a good point.
[00:47:31] Speaker C: It just blows my mind that they can't.
[00:47:34] Speaker B: You could see them, they were like, hanging on, hanging on as long as they could when that pass started to happen. But then they go. They go anyway. And it's just like, so.
[00:47:44] Speaker C: I don't.
[00:47:44] Speaker B: Know, frustrating because it was the one.
[00:47:47] Speaker C: Pass lead of the day and then rise.
[00:47:50] Speaker B: It's happening.
[00:47:50] Speaker A: Commercial.
[00:47:51] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like, well, damn.
[00:47:53] Speaker A: So speaking of the racing itself, I've got a wild trend that got broken this week.
[00:48:00] Speaker C: All right, well, not necessarily broken, but. Denny Hamlin gets the pole position, has the best pit box in NASCAR.
[00:48:09] Speaker A: It is the best pit box, most.
[00:48:11] Speaker C: Productive pit box on pit road in any track.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: The last, I think they said five out of seven races, that pit box led to a top five finish. There's a couple of wins and pretty much almost a guaranteed top ten that.
[00:48:25] Speaker C: Comes out of having that pit box.
[00:48:27] Speaker A: Denny Hamlin comes out and finishes in.
[00:48:29] Speaker C: 11Th with it, which is definitely kind.
[00:48:33] Speaker A: Of a broken trend right there. And I know a lot of it had to do with strategy there at the end, how it all played out.
[00:48:38] Speaker C: But it was wild to see Denny.
[00:48:40] Speaker A: Finish in such a low position compared to what you were expecting whenever he got that box. I bet him to have a top.
[00:48:46] Speaker C: Three by the end of the race, mostly because he got the pole position and he finished in eleven.
My only statement that I have about.
[00:48:58] Speaker B: The whole pit box thing, I don't remember in a recent time where it was talked about so much. And then I saw people be like, well, they need to move this and do this or whatever.
[00:49:10] Speaker C: I think, fuck that.
You show up, show up, qualify better. If you want the best pit stall, qualify first.
[00:49:19] Speaker B: That's all I got to say about that. They are ripping this pit stall thing apart.
[00:49:24] Speaker C: And that's another thing. Don't change a good thing.
[00:49:27] Speaker B: Like, it's okay.
[00:49:28] Speaker C: It is okay.
[00:49:29] Speaker B: The fastest guy gets the best pit stall. That is what his reward is for qualifying first on Saturday or Friday.
[00:49:37] Speaker C: Whatever.
[00:49:38] Speaker B: Please don't change something else just because.
[00:49:41] Speaker C: We want to make everything a little bit more fair.
[00:49:43] Speaker B: I was thinking while they're saying it was driving me bonkers while they were, like, talking about it so much, I'm.
[00:49:49] Speaker C: Like, this has never been talked about before.
[00:49:52] Speaker A: I don't mind them talking about it even. I don't want it to change for sure.
[00:49:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:49:56] Speaker A: I didn't know anybody was even asking for it to change.
[00:50:00] Speaker B: All over Twitter about wanting it to change and needing to move it so its first pit box isn't such an advantage or whatever. My exact thought was qualify better.
[00:50:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:50:08] Speaker A: That's literally all shows right here. He started in first and finished in.
[00:50:13] Speaker C: 11Th, so it may help you a ton.
[00:50:17] Speaker A: He probably would have finished worse without.
[00:50:18] Speaker C: It, but it's still not a perfect scenario.
[00:50:21] Speaker A: It doesn't set you up for a win. It just sets you up better for a win.
[00:50:25] Speaker B: Totally.
[00:50:26] Speaker A: You still got to go out there and execute.
[00:50:27] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:50:27] Speaker A: You get a pit road, speeding penalty.
[00:50:29] Speaker C: It doesn't matter where you pit.
[00:50:31] Speaker B: I hope that stays the same. They don't change it, but that's the kind of stuff. They want everything to be so fair and so close.
You really were talking about that last week with the cars being so close and everything.
[00:50:43] Speaker C: It's like, golly, don't make pit road.
[00:50:49] Speaker B: Some things the way they are just fine.
[00:50:51] Speaker C: Let it stay the way that it is, please.
[00:50:57] Speaker A: Looking at some other wild finishing stats.
[00:51:01] Speaker C: Hendrik motorsports kind of struggled today or yesterday.
[00:51:06] Speaker A: Kyle Larson being the best of him at 14th.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: And then you got. But he ran.
[00:51:10] Speaker A: That's where he ran all day long.
[00:51:11] Speaker B: He qualified 17th, ran right in there.
[00:51:14] Speaker A: Pretty much the whole time.
[00:51:15] Speaker B: They had some great strategy and got him up to, like, third there when he jumped a bunch of people. But the freaking hub and wheel and stuff, he's having problems with it again. They just had problems with that in Atlanta. Something's going on with that. I don't know what it is, but something is up with those hubs and wheels and lug nuts at Hendrix. The five car, specifically something, because it's.
[00:51:35] Speaker C: Happened multiple times now. Yeah.
[00:51:37] Speaker A: And the 24 finished 18th, nine finished 19th, and the 48 finished 20th. They were all there around each other.
[00:51:43] Speaker C: So Hendrik just kind of missed the mark this week. Just didn't quite show up with it.
[00:51:48] Speaker A: And so that's just a very interesting little stat line to read off.
As much as Chevy has been dominating.
[00:51:56] Speaker C: The start to this season, they really.
[00:51:59] Speaker A: Kind of showed up and struggled today. Only one Chevy in the top ten.
[00:52:01] Speaker C: Even out of Chastain. So wild to see that happen.
[00:52:07] Speaker A: I mean, going to a short, like.
[00:52:09] Speaker C: Closer to a short track.
[00:52:10] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely going to be a bit of a change.
[00:52:12] Speaker C: But that was Toyota. Toyotas were so fast out of the gate that.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: I know anything can happen during the race, but I'm not surprised that a Toyota won when they were so fast out of the gate. It was like six of the top ten in practice, and then they raced awesome.
[00:52:27] Speaker C: The Toyotas did so like Toyota.
[00:52:30] Speaker B: It would have been bad for Toyota.
[00:52:32] Speaker C: If a Toyota didn't win that race. Yeah. By how great they ran all weekend. Very true, very true.
[00:52:41] Speaker A: Other notable finishers, Michael McDowell and Chase.
[00:52:43] Speaker C: Briscoe, both pulling out a top ten.
[00:52:46] Speaker B: And that was one of my bets.
[00:52:49] Speaker C: I had a top five bet on Briscoe.
[00:52:52] Speaker A: I had a top ten bet on him.
[00:52:54] Speaker B: And I ended up.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: And Michael McDowell.
[00:52:56] Speaker B: I had a top ten bet on McDowell. He ran up front all day, qualified.
[00:53:00] Speaker C: Well, ran there, hung around that area.
[00:53:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Another guy we got to give props.
[00:53:06] Speaker C: To again is Gragson.
[00:53:07] Speaker B: I mean, he freaking ran. He ran top ten all day long and ended up finishing 11th or twelveth. 13th.
[00:53:12] Speaker C: Somewhere in there.
[00:53:13] Speaker A: Yeah, he finished in twelveth.
[00:53:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:18] Speaker A: He didn't run there all day. I had a top ten bet on him. And right there at the end, he was running in 10th for a solid number of laps. And finally Hamlin and Reddick were able.
[00:53:27] Speaker C: To get around him.
[00:53:30] Speaker B: He was definitely better tires, too, I believe.
[00:53:32] Speaker C: Right.
[00:53:33] Speaker A: I can't speak to that, because by that point, I was just watching for pure entertainment value.
[00:53:38] Speaker B: I want to say they had better tires at the end. And I was pretty much like, yeah.
[00:53:42] Speaker C: I could see them getting him right here.
[00:53:45] Speaker A: It was close for sure. Eric Jones was running well as well. Yeah, Eric, in the beginning, had a good day. He did not get the finish that he deserved.
[00:53:54] Speaker B: For sure he did. Was. Just saw an interview this morning.
He was highly upset with Mr. Briscoe. Said Briscoe's got a problem with him every week that it seems. And puts him in bad situations and uses him up. And he said he was going to.
[00:54:09] Speaker C: Have a conversation with Briscoe about that. Let's get on.
[00:54:12] Speaker A: Well, it's more rivalries, better rivalries. Come on, now.
[00:54:15] Speaker B: I agree. I'm here.
[00:54:16] Speaker A: We need the Blaney Chastain fight. We need the Jones and Briscoe fight. I'm here for all of it.
[00:54:23] Speaker C: Let's get everybody pissed off. Make it fun again.
What other bets did you end up winning this week?
[00:54:30] Speaker B: I only won two bets. It was one against. Had the top ten.
Let me pull it up for you real quick. It was the top ten on McDowell. And then one was a little two pick parlay.
[00:54:40] Speaker C: It was Hamlin over someone, and it.
[00:54:45] Speaker B: Was Graxon over Barry. But I can't remember who the Hamlin one was over.
[00:54:48] Speaker C: I can tell you in 2 seconds.
[00:54:51] Speaker B: It was Hamlin over Chase Elliot and.
[00:54:54] Speaker C: Noah Graxon over Barry and Michael McDowell top ten. There you go. We're my only two that hit. Yeah, I ended up having the Michael.
[00:55:02] Speaker A: McDowell top ten as well. And then Chase Briscoe top ten. If you don't bet Chase Briscoe top.
[00:55:08] Speaker C: Ten at plus money at Phoenix, you're wasting your time.
[00:55:12] Speaker B: When I got it, I had higher hopes for him. That's why I did top.
[00:55:20] Speaker A: Recently. So I was a little more conservative.
[00:55:23] Speaker B: Yeah, he's ran well at Phoenix. I mean, he's got a win, and.
[00:55:27] Speaker C: That'S like one of his better tracks, I would say.
[00:55:29] Speaker A: Yeah, he just shows up and just has it whenever he gets there.
[00:55:32] Speaker B: I can go through.
[00:55:34] Speaker C: So I had a William Byron winner bet.
[00:55:40] Speaker B: Let's see. I can tell you right here.
[00:55:42] Speaker C: All my bets.
[00:55:44] Speaker B: Nope, I deleted them on there. So I had a William Byron winner.
[00:55:47] Speaker C: Bet, Gragson top ten, Briscoe top five. Had a parlay with Chastain over Blaney.
[00:55:58] Speaker B: And Hamlin over Elliot, obviously on the Hammond. Over Elliot.
[00:56:01] Speaker C: Hit.
[00:56:03] Speaker B: Had another parlay that didn't hit at all. It was Bowman over Gibbs. And this one was.
[00:56:08] Speaker C: I did these because I usually try to do two of the underdogs to.
[00:56:15] Speaker B: Get it plused up a little bit. So this was that one.
[00:56:16] Speaker C: It was Bowman over Gibbs and Bush over Bell. Obviously, that didn't work.
[00:56:23] Speaker B: I was super pumped because I thought the host of our top ten was.
[00:56:26] Speaker C: Going to hit there. Even after his fiasco on pit road.
[00:56:31] Speaker A: I thought that was still pretty good.
[00:56:32] Speaker C: Yeah. And then my winning bets was Chastain Blaney and Larson. Dang.
[00:56:38] Speaker A: I only had Blaney as a winner. I had Denny Hamlin top three and Denny top Toyota. And I missed both of you.
[00:56:45] Speaker C: I obviously didn't bet on Christopher Bell to do anything.
[00:56:48] Speaker B: Yeah, we tell that by your Twitter post.
[00:56:50] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:56:51] Speaker A: My biggest winner was the Michael McDowell top ten because I looked, and it was actually at plus 330 when I picked it up.
[00:56:57] Speaker C: So that ended up being a huge win for me. I think it put, like, $3 on.
[00:57:01] Speaker A: It and left with almost a $20 bill.
[00:57:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
Even though both only won two bets. Both of those bets pretty much paid me.
[00:57:09] Speaker C: Like, broke me even. Yeah.
[00:57:11] Speaker B: Right.
[00:57:12] Speaker A: We ended up, like, plus money. I think I made about $10 on the day.
[00:57:16] Speaker C: Yes. I was enjoying it.
[00:57:19] Speaker A: Noah Graxon over Josh Berry was the.
[00:57:21] Speaker C: Easiest pick of all time.
[00:57:24] Speaker A: It was negative 225 when I got it, so that's why I parlayed it.
[00:57:27] Speaker C: With Chase Briscoe over Chase Elliott.
[00:57:29] Speaker A: It was two of the most no brainer bets I've put in in a minute.
[00:57:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:57:32] Speaker A: Noah Graxon is going to beat Josh Berry. Barring incident. Josh is still new with this team. I'm not ready to grade Josh's performance yet. I need to see it go on.
[00:57:41] Speaker C: For a little longer. Shr just struggles in general and then.
[00:57:47] Speaker B: Practice or qualifying, too. Yep.
[00:57:49] Speaker A: He wrecked and qualifying on top of it, so he just was on the.
[00:57:52] Speaker C: Back foot the whole time.
[00:57:53] Speaker A: And then Briscoe over Elliot. Elliot has just been struggling lately and.
[00:57:57] Speaker C: We all talk about it. We'll see if he comes back and.
[00:58:00] Speaker A: Manages to turn his season around at some point. He hasn't won since Talladega in 22.
[00:58:04] Speaker C: So it's been a while. Yeah.
[00:58:06] Speaker B: He's got over a 30 race winless streak.
[00:58:08] Speaker C: Yeah. And Briscoe just happened to be at.
[00:58:12] Speaker A: A track that he really enjoys, so that was an easy one. I parlayed that together and ended up winning it as mean.
[00:58:18] Speaker C: That's smart. That's a good one.
[00:58:20] Speaker A: But that was the only three and it ended up giving me plus money.
[00:58:23] Speaker C: So I will take it to the bank.
[00:58:27] Speaker A: So, looking forward to Briscoe. Briscoe, Bristol. Who do you think is going to be successful? Do you think RFK comes out here.
[00:58:37] Speaker C: And wins the one?
[00:58:37] Speaker B: Yeah, I do. That's what I was just about to say, I love the RFK.
I'm definitely putting money on RFK. One, he just won ₩17 there the last time we were there.
[00:58:50] Speaker C: And two, he has momentum of a.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: Second place finish and both cars in the top five.
[00:58:57] Speaker C: And then he's already posting on Twitter.
[00:59:00] Speaker B: About how much he's pumped up, that it's not on dirt and they're back on the asphalt and concrete, whatever.
[00:59:05] Speaker C: Concrete.
[00:59:06] Speaker A: Bristol, baby.
[00:59:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:59:08] Speaker C: So I think I've heard Busher say.
[00:59:12] Speaker B: That Bristol's his favorite track. So with all that, the confidence, the like, I just have a good feeling.
[00:59:18] Speaker C: About the RFK as a whole for this weekend.
[00:59:23] Speaker A: Hey, I'm here for it. I'm all about that.
[00:59:26] Speaker B: So those are my two. I might even spread that out. Like, I might put winter Beth, but also might even know some top three top five sprinkled in with those two.
[00:59:35] Speaker C: Guys as know just to.
[00:59:40] Speaker A: The nothing posted no OD lines to look.
[00:59:43] Speaker B: So I don't really know. I always put money on Larson just because he's my.
[00:59:50] Speaker C: Know Denny.
[00:59:50] Speaker B: Denny's hard to beat. Denny is a Bristol kind of guy. He runs well at Bristol. He is.
I'll throw in a couple of parlays like normal.
[00:59:59] Speaker C: And my one out there bet is still.
[01:00:03] Speaker B: I'm still going to put some money on Graxon for like a top ten.
[01:00:06] Speaker C: I could see that.
[01:00:07] Speaker A: I could definitely see that happening.
[01:00:08] Speaker B: Same kind of track, same deal. He's coming off two really awesome races.
[01:00:13] Speaker C: In a row, so something with Graxon, maybe a little bit, but we'll see.
[01:00:20] Speaker B: I really do think RFK is going to run really well, and their ODs.
[01:00:24] Speaker C: Aren'T super always at the top, so.
[01:00:26] Speaker B: That'S a good way to make money on those guys because they're usually know a lot more than your Byrons and Larsons and Hamlins.
[01:00:34] Speaker A: They'll definitely be the ones that I'm watching out for, and we're excited for it. Brandon, we want to see you get a win here as quick as possible.
[01:00:41] Speaker C: This season so y'all can start planning for some offseason or some playoff season stuff. Get a jump on the game this year. Yep.
[01:00:49] Speaker A: I want to see Brad k get that win.
[01:00:51] Speaker B: I'm ready for the american flag to be hanging over that six car, I can tell you that.
[01:00:55] Speaker A: Gosh, me and you both, I know it's got to be nagging at him, too. So here's hoping they can show up.
[01:01:00] Speaker C: With some great damn race cars and.
[01:01:02] Speaker A: Really push themselves forward.
[01:01:04] Speaker B: I think it will.
[01:01:06] Speaker C: Trading paint. You got any paint schemes you want to highlight this week.
[01:01:13] Speaker B: Lindsay was a super big fan of the dog prints on Bowman's car. She talked about that multiple times.
[01:01:20] Speaker A: I love that. That's awesome.
[01:01:21] Speaker B: Also, it looked cool.
I remember the pedigree paint schemes back in the day. Everybody loved when they had the little dogs on them. And so. Oh, yeah, everybody loves dogs and paw prints and all that. So I'll go that one just because of her.
[01:01:34] Speaker C: And then I still doubling down on that lowercase windows Microsoft paint font that Hamlin used.
[01:01:45] Speaker B: It's not Hamlin's fault. It's not JGR's fault.
[01:01:48] Speaker C: But it was awful.
[01:01:50] Speaker A: That was terrible bad. That was like something else.
[01:01:53] Speaker C: He'll trade the paint. That was weird to me was why.
[01:01:56] Speaker B: Was sport clips so small on the fender? They had sport clips over the quarter panel, but it was so small, like on TV, you couldn't tell what it said. It just kind of looked like a little black box.
[01:02:09] Speaker C: It was so little.
[01:02:10] Speaker B: I don't know what was up with that.
[01:02:12] Speaker A: It was the laziest paint scheme I think I've ever seen.
[01:02:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:02:15] Speaker A: I don't know for a top tier car like that. Had a chance of winning the race.
[01:02:18] Speaker C: And sat on the pole. Yeah, I agree, man.
[01:02:21] Speaker A: Y'all had all this opportunity to get some great TV time with a pole sitting car, and you just wasted it.
[01:02:26] Speaker C: On this clip art. Yeah.
[01:02:28] Speaker B: And that's rare.
[01:02:29] Speaker C: I feel like Hamlin's paint schemes know, usually pretty cool.
[01:02:33] Speaker B: Got some cool. Like, I like the color purple. So, like purple and white on those. Like I'm a fan of. So, yeah, I don't super into.
I've said this before, and then I've seen just a couple people recently say that, even though Pinsky does a good job at this, so props to them on what I'm about to say.
[01:02:55] Speaker C: But even though we have a bunch of different sponsors on cars, still have the same base paint scheme. Same scheme, just with the different colors. And.
[01:03:08] Speaker B: Obviously, like Oblaney, when he runs, like, the menards, it's the solid yellow, or Cedric, the solid yellow on the side.
[01:03:14] Speaker A: And then whatever hood.
[01:03:15] Speaker B: Yeah, like whatever different. Like if it's deer sale, got the black, if it's dutch boys or whatever, it's, know, that kind of thing. I love that.
[01:03:21] Speaker C: I really do love that.
[01:03:23] Speaker B: And on Hamlin's car this year, they had, like, the same exact paint scheme he had for the FedEx car and the sports clips car.
[01:03:30] Speaker C: Exactly the same.
[01:03:31] Speaker B: Same around the number, same a little bit down the side. One's just purple and white and orange and the other one's white, black and red.
[01:03:38] Speaker C: I love that. I would have loved if they just did that.
[01:03:41] Speaker A: I do like that.
[01:03:42] Speaker C: Did that.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: One complaint with it, Pinsky, is that they change who gets that paint scheme. So sometimes it's the two and sometimes it's the twelve. I wish they would just leave that paint scheme on one car. Twelve car base paint scheme.
[01:03:54] Speaker C: Let's do that. But when they switch, I saw Austin was involved in that early wreck. Yeah. And I saw wheelcock.
[01:04:01] Speaker A: I was convinced it was Blaney that just wrecked out of the race.
[01:04:04] Speaker B: Well, even more so before then. If you remember when they had the, I think they were called the scallops or whatever. Every single car, no matter what, the.
[01:04:13] Speaker C: Paint job would just change the colors.
[01:04:16] Speaker A: Would include those, but would change it a little.
[01:04:18] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:04:18] Speaker B: Even like the AA car just made the scallops like light blue, the cars white and had the logo, stuff like that. Even though they still do it a little bit. It was really like Penske before next gen that they kept the cars all exactly the same, very recognizable.
[01:04:33] Speaker C: Even with having to have six, seven, eight primary sponsors throughout the year. And if they would have done something.
[01:04:42] Speaker B: Like that with the brakes plus thing, I would have been into that a lot more than just whatever they did.
[01:04:48] Speaker C: The super basic thing.
[01:04:50] Speaker B: And even if you remember when Larson came back in with like, they ran that same Hendrix color car when he.
[01:04:58] Speaker C: Ran the nation's guard car and stuff.
[01:05:00] Speaker B: Like that just was green and know.
[01:05:02] Speaker C: Then red, white and blue, whatever.
[01:05:04] Speaker B: Anyway, I'm not going to give a ton of examples. I'm just saying I like when cars do that.
[01:05:08] Speaker A: I do, too.
[01:05:09] Speaker C: The consistency is key to brand recognition.
[01:05:13] Speaker A: And it helps a lot when the paint scheme changes only in logo and color. I do like.
[01:05:19] Speaker C: Yep.
[01:05:20] Speaker A: I just want them to do it with one car. Don't be scaring me like that, Cinderella. Yeah, that scared the crap out of me, bowtie guy.
[01:05:28] Speaker C: But anyway, we got a good race coming up. I hope.
[01:05:33] Speaker A: I know we talked a lot of.
[01:05:34] Speaker C: Crap about it, but I've got my.
[01:05:36] Speaker A: Fingers and my toes crossed. I'm just hoping something's a little different.
[01:05:39] Speaker C: But we'll see.
[01:05:41] Speaker B: I agree.
[01:05:41] Speaker A: We'll see what happens. I'll be watching back home.
We got that road gig. Well, I guess we won't be watching back home because we're going to be staying up in Pellham.
[01:05:50] Speaker C: We may be finding somewhere to watch it up there.
[01:05:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't really know.
[01:05:53] Speaker C: We're going to hang out, go get.
[01:05:56] Speaker B: Breakfast, maybe a drink or two. We'll see what happens.
[01:05:58] Speaker A: But, Daddy, we just get home in time. We all watch it like we normally do.
[01:06:03] Speaker B: Yeah, I think we'll all get home before the race.
[01:06:06] Speaker C: Or at least I hope we do. We'll see.
[01:06:08] Speaker A: We'll just play it by ear. Maybe we just have to have in the Caverns podcast next week.
[01:06:13] Speaker C: Yeah, it's going to be cool.
[01:06:14] Speaker B: I'm excited. I'm excited for the show. I'm excited to get back and rolling.
[01:06:19] Speaker C: Yeah, it's getting close. Almost time for full band stuff.
[01:06:22] Speaker B: Rock on. I just wanted to throw out there. Jeff Gluck's poll is only at 40% yes. Just so everyone knows, we never actually.
[01:06:28] Speaker C: Said the exact stat 40% yes for Phoenix.
[01:06:33] Speaker B: If you voted yes, you probably are.
[01:06:35] Speaker C: A hardcore Christopher Bell fan.
[01:06:37] Speaker B: Unlike Caleb Conrad.
[01:06:40] Speaker A: I voted yes. And I am not a hardcore Christopher Bell fan.
[01:06:43] Speaker B: Yep.
All right, we'll see.
[01:06:47] Speaker A: Handles, you can find me at Caleb Conrouty everywhere. We got everything posted up on the Internet as razor rowdy racing, except on Twitter.
