Episode Transcript
Speaker 1 00:00:03 Welcome to Ray's Rowdy Racing with Caleb Conrady and Dawson Edwards.
Speaker 2 00:00:12 What up y'all name's? Dawson Edwards. And this is episode number three for Dale. Three for Dale. Come on now. Of Rays rowdy racing. Yeah. Hell yeah. And my name's Caleb Kred. And over here on my left, we got our world famous not on video. Not on camera today. Off camera. Producer Nicky. T as you said, the first, it's a sad episode that you're not on camera. Luckily, I'm in a Dolphins jersey and I'm drinking, uh, water out of a picture of Bud Light. Dude, that is the biggest glass of water I've ever seen anybody bring to any kind of recording session ever. Here. Show 'em. Absolutely. Look at this thing. Look at how big this glass of water is, man. Like you're trying to, you're trying to hydrate it's premium on. He's hydrating for Key West, you know, that's exactly what it is. Getting ready.
Speaker 2 00:00:56 Got got to. Thank y'all for having me on the podcast again. I don't know why you want me, but I love it. <laugh>, you're always, you're always welcome here because we love you, man. We're welcoming family Absolutely. Of podcasters. This is a, uh, this is a team effort here Without you. I don't know if we'd ever get this done. Yeah. Big help to all of this, uh, shit show. Absolutely. And Burrell, we don't forget about you back over there. I know we can't see you through the wall, but it's, if you're, if you're even still sitting there, I heard a robot might be taking over your job. We love you Burrell. You are Obiwan Kenobi <laugh>. Does that make, does that make you quiet on then I'm out here. You're a Quan. Gin. Goodness. <laugh>. <laugh>. Then that's the second best gin to next gin, apparently. Yeah. That's my bad joke of the day. You know what, I'm gonna use this already. There we go. Haha. Those are premium, aren't they? They are. We just found out. We have a little soundboard over here, so we get to use that one. They're a little bit, I'm gonna be making fun of making fun of it a little bit and have a good, having good fun.
Speaker 2 00:01:56 That one is so much more louder than the others. Yeah, it's cause I turned it up. There you go. <laugh>. Anyway, uh, so like we said, uh, it is key West Week and so today's podcast we're actually recording. It's like eight 30 in the morning. Uh, I don't have the mullet out today. I finally had to, I had to wear a ball cap. There was no way I was doing my hair up at seven 30 this morning. It's, it, it's a problem. But, uh, this week we are, me, Nikki t and Burrell are heading down to Key West for the Key West Songwriters Festival 2023 Key Blessed. It's gonna be a great time. I'm really looking forward to it. Uh, we're having to record this early because Nicky t and Burrell have a flight at what, like 2 12 30. 1230. Goodness. So short shortly. Yeah. Yeah. A couple hours. Yeah. So after this, uh, podcast gets recorded, we're gonna upload it real quick and then send them on down to the old airport. And then me and my girlfriend Alison, we're meeting up with y'all down there and on Wednesday, I believe you ready to degenerate? Dude, I'm not ready at all. And I hope I don't get ready. I just kind of want to get thrown into it.
Speaker 3 00:03:02 My liver's never gonna forgive me.
Speaker 2 00:03:03 Uh, it doesn't ever, that's what everybody says Key West. It really doesn't ever, I mean, last year we, it was my first year going. I know Dawson, you'd been, is that your second time? Third time. I can't remember off top of it. Uh, second time
Speaker 3 00:03:15 Dawson's famous as hell. That's why.
Speaker 2 00:03:17 Absolutely. What <laugh>? I said,
Speaker 3 00:03:18 You're famous
Speaker 2 00:03:19 As hell. <laugh>. Yeah. I thought you said Dawson's name as hell. I said <laugh>. Damn. Damn hell. Rowdy Dawson's name is Rip. Rip. That's what my hotel Key said this weekend. It did. I was, I was responsible for that. Uh, we had, uh, yeah, Mr. Short track, Mr. Short Track. That can go on the next ucky for next week. Dude. They gotta remember that. Yeah. I gotta put that one down too. But, uh, yeah, last year went down there for the first time. Had a great damn time. It was, it was awesome. Uh, pretty That you your first time too?
Speaker 3 00:03:49 No, uh, this will be my third year. Third
Speaker 2 00:03:51 Year. Yeah. I was gonna be very surprised that that was your first time we
Speaker 3 00:03:53 Went in that Covid. Yeah. I like popping my cherries, but it's been a while. You know, <laugh>?
Speaker 2 00:03:58 Oh, <laugh>.
Speaker 3 00:03:59 Uh, yeah, we went during that first year when it was like that Covid year where like BMI wasn't there, but they still like kind of, it
Speaker 2 00:04:05 Was like a Yeah, yeah, yeah. They had it, but it wasn't like Yeah. As official Shadow presence.
Speaker 3 00:04:11 Honestly, it was pretty blessed that year because it was like, kind of like we did at Bootleg and that's like the most razor riding thing ever.
Speaker 2 00:04:16 Yeah. Nice. Yeah, it's a, it's a ton of fun. I mean, if anybody's never gone down to it, it's basically the entire town of Nashville moves to Key West for about a week and just loses their ever loving minds. Uh, it's, it's just everyone going crazy. It's literally just like being tons Midtown tons, but on a beach. Yeah. If you could move Talladega and put it on an island, it would be the Key West Songwriters Festival. Roll Tide. As long as you, I mean, if you brought a, if you brought a few beads, it could probably turn it into as crazy as that would be. I maybe it's, it's just a good time. I enjoy it. Yeah. I would definitely equate the two. Cuz I, I am never sober during the entire week. I mean, it's
Speaker 3 00:04:54 Tough to be sober when the drinks are so delicious. It's
Speaker 2 00:04:57 True. And it's like lows of 79 highs of 80 every single day. You got a one degree temperature range. Oh man. It's beautiful. I absolutely love it. Lobster pizza was definitely a hit last year. We had Dawson went on the, uh, blackened mahi mahi sandwich tour ofs Key West. That's what I honestly, I think you so good. Every restaurant they wanted every place. That's
Speaker 3 00:05:17 My favorite fish for
Speaker 2 00:05:17 Sure. And then the, uh, mahi dip. Oh one join, man, that was super good. Premium Lord. And then the lobster pizza is great. It's just so expensive for like Oh yeah. Not the super biggest pizza, but the pizza taste is awesome. You gotta pay that. It's like Key West upcharge, you know? Yeah. So I enjoy it. I'm going to PCB though, not Key West. Yeah. That's pretty
Speaker 3 00:05:34 Good. Still, you
Speaker 2 00:05:35 Know, way cheaper. Yeah. Way cheaper. Way cheaper. Way cheaper for way longer of a time. So I'm totally down. I'm, he's going for two extra days and acting. I'm like, it's an extra week. I'm exciting. <laugh>. I'm excited now.
Speaker 3 00:05:46 That's gonna be awesome. Plus you ain't gotta play guitar there. You can if you want to, but you ain't.
Speaker 2 00:05:50 I can just string out and not be famous. Right. <laugh> and not be famous
Speaker 3 00:05:54 Guys. We are trying to be famous on the internet. If you could figure out a way to help us, please
Speaker 2 00:05:58 Help us. Absolutely. We can take any bit of help. We can get a little like, and a little subscribe. Always goes a long way. Yeah. But yeah, so that's, uh, that's the plan coming up. I know, uh, Nicki, you've got a couple rounds going on. Yeah.
Speaker 3 00:06:10 We're hosting some riders rounds down there Thursday, Friday, Saturday. And then we're about to announce an event for Wednesday here too. It's gonna be premium. You
Speaker 2 00:06:18 Can't drop it. Specialty on the slide. Uh,
Speaker 3 00:06:21 Well, well it's not mine to drop, so, but I'm excited about it.
Speaker 2 00:06:24 Interesting. Yeah. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm gonna have to be keeping an eye out on the race Friday pages.
Speaker 3 00:06:29 It's gonna be premium. Nice.
Speaker 2 00:06:31 Heck yeah. I know. I've, I'm playing on your, uh, Friday round, I believe. Hell,
Speaker 3 00:06:34 Yesin day Mayo baby.
Speaker 2 00:06:36 It is going. It'll be fun. I'm bringing Margarita. I so many margaritas. A lot of margaritas on Friday. Understand. I
Speaker 3 00:06:40 Understand it. Thanks. Uh, anybody got some bras? If not bringing some down please.
Speaker 2 00:06:44 Absolutely. My beach hat is very sombrero ish. Yeah. Ooh, that'll be great. It's like a baby sombrero. Yeah. I always crack up because you've got that whole thing. And I used to have that as your contact photos. You sitting on PCB just on the phone wearing that sore looking beach at I bought a, but but I bought that new one last year. You, I mean, you've got a couple of 'em. Yeah, but it's just funny. I bought the ones at the bottoms like blue and Oh yeah. It's like the ocean. But this, it's like way bigger. I'm
Speaker 3 00:07:09 Gonna get another one when I get down there. I always just ruin them.
Speaker 2 00:07:13 You know, I've, I've saved this one Surpris. It's easy to ruin. You did great. Yeah. I bought it last year at Bass Pros. Like on sale or some shit. Yeah. And I was like, oh, perfect.
Speaker 3 00:07:20 What a blessing. We'll
Speaker 2 00:07:21 Take that. No, it's, it, it, that's always a good time. I bought a, uh, a Hawaiian a Bucky shirt, uh, just yesterday in Kentucky. Uh, it's a Hawaiian. It's got, uh, the little beaver all over it. Uh, kind of hidden into the pattern, gonna wear pretty bunch of that. And, uh, Nicky t oh me and Lindsay almost bought one. He just gave me this just now.
Speaker 3 00:07:40 Yeah. Premium.
Speaker 2 00:07:41 That, that's
Speaker 3 00:07:42 A key blessed shirt right there. That
Speaker 2 00:07:44 Is, that is going to get me drunk right there. It's a, yeah, it's a tank top with the raised, rowdy logo on that's gonna get you sunburn. That's what that's gonna get you right there. Yeah. <laugh>. Dude. My white ass is gonna get me sunburned. Let's be honest. SPF
Speaker 3 00:07:56 70 baby. Woo.
Speaker 2 00:07:57 Yeah. Love you. This black tie. That's why I wear the sunburn raised, rowdy tank top. Gonna look good down there in Key West. Gonna look great. Musk skin hates the sun. So I, uh, we're
Speaker 3 00:08:06 Pale boys.
Speaker 2 00:08:07 Oh man. Me and Caleb had a bad situation with the sun and a red bud Illinois in like 2017 probably. Yeah. Brutal. 2030. Nasty. Juicy. Yeah, boy. Oh, we played, we played, we definitely have skin cancer from that. It's not yet, but when we were like 75 Yeah. We're gonna have to like cut our shoulder skin. Oh yeah. They, uh, we, we played volleyball in the pool for like, probably all day six hours. And there was not a cloud in the sky. Uh, I, well you remember it as cloudy. I don't remember it as cloudy. I remember it as very cloudy. That's why we didn't wear skin. I remember being drunk. That's all I remember. And then the next thing I know, we're playing a show. We had to play a show that night. It was like a two three hour show that we were playing.
Speaker 2 00:08:48 Got a winery in Santa at a winery in red Bud. And man, I, the sun poisoning set in, in the middle of that, the sun's going, going down. And as soon as the sun fell below the horizon, I just felt this uplifting <laugh> feeling because I'm no longer getting burnt by the sun. And yeah, we got, we got subway sandwiches that night. Oh. And uh, I remember feeling like, I was like, my skin feels weird. I feel like, like, uh, I'm like bubbling up. I'm like, I'm already starting to like wep up or whatever. And I'm like, something's not right here. But I'd never been sunburned like that, so I didn't necessarily know what was happening. Right. And we get, like I said, we ordered Subway. I just feel like I remember it so vividly. Vividly. And I'm like, what in the hell is going on next morning, wake up and I'm literally turning into a reptile.
Speaker 2 00:09:31 Oh. Just like, of like scales. Were on my back. And then as the days went on, they like started, I mean, getting cheese. I had to go to the hospital. Yeah. Gc. Yeah. He, he went, you had to get, he went to the doctor. I, I had to drive the next day from Red Bud, Illinois to my hometown in WinDor, Texas. And that was a long, long trip. I had a silk pillow with a silk pillow case sitting behind me in the chair. The, uh, the strap for the seatbelt. I had a T-shirt underneath it because it was just so painful. And I'm just driving as stiff as a board and just complaining the whole, I think it was like a 10 hour drive. Brutal. Had to make that very next day. I was, I was still working at u p s at the time.
Speaker 2 00:10:08 Rough. And I, I laid down in the bed and when I got up, my skin stayed on the bed as I raised up, I was like, yeah, we got, we got a problem, we got a problem. Gotta go to the, we got a problem. Gotta go to the hospital. We're gonna have to put a disclaimer on the front of this podcast. So yeah, that's, that's what I did. Oh. So about nascar. So anyway, <laugh>, sorry, sorry. But anyway, had had to, had to go, had to go full tilt on that. So all of that to say, uh, I said all that to say this as they say, um, we're gonna get some burnt and drunk in weird. The state of Florida this week. Yeah, this week. Yeah. Yeah. And next week. I know Dawson, you leave on, uh, you leave technically on Wednesday to go down to Rome, but you're gonna be on the beach from Sunday to Sunday.
Speaker 2 00:10:47 So I got like a 10 day vacation coming out. Yeah. What a blessing. His next week, this next week's podcast is gonna be a bit of an ad lib. We'll figure it out as we go. Yeah. My last day of actual work is tomorrow I gotta write, sing some vocals, and then I'm done for like 10 days. Beautiful. Gosh, what a blessing. Yeah, I'm excited. So, uh, this past weekend though, uh, the Trick Crew, we were up and, uh, we, well, I guess we were down technically in Durham, North Carolina venue was awesome. Huge. Yeah. Tons of space. Semi-new, uh, was built in oh eight, which I still consider that new. It's like number one of the top five theaters in the country. Yeah. Won some kind of award, like Top Ben, top five. And then last year, I think it said was number one. Yeah.
Speaker 2 00:11:27 Yeah. They voted so they had like 87 sold out shows, like 200 something acts. And that's, I mean, that's a lot of people coming out. Stacey, Stacey Abrams game. Yeah. My favorite person. Her favorite person in the world. So she, she had an event in North Carolina. Yeah. Strangely enough. Yeah. We don't know why. Couldn't tell you. Why wouldn't it be in North Carolina though? Because she, she runs, runs for governor in Georgia. In Georgia. I mean, maybe they're both great states, you know, I mean, they're both great states, so don't gonna be wrong. One's the home of NASCAR and one's the home of you. So it pretty much works out. Yeah, probably anyways though. Maybe she's trying to be our president. Durham could be. I hope not. <laugh>. Um, D dear though. Great place. Enjoyed it. Yeah. Had had a good time. I mean, it's a pretty normal show.
Speaker 2 00:12:06 Nothing too crazy went on. Then we, uh, then we made our way up to one of my favorite venues that we play on the road. We went there last year once, uh, we went back to Mount Vernon, Kentucky to a place called Renfro Valley. Ren Valley. And we talked about a little bit on the podcast last week with, uh, old Renfro Rick that we met up with. He was working again. He is in just as good spirits as he always has been. But we had a twofer there and we had the most hellacious time on Saturday night. We get there Friday night. Friday night. See, my days are running together. It was so good. I sat on the podcast last week that we were gonna raise Immortal Hell. And we in between the shows we did, we uh, we loaded in that morning. It's a crazy load in it.
Speaker 2 00:12:49 Take it took us over an hour longer than it normally is. The stage is about the, the size of this room. Yeah. It's tiny. So we got a lot of equipment to get up on that stage. Just the size of this room. So that's, that's doesn't make for the funnest of load ins and load outs. But it really wasn't that bad. Yeah. We've had way worse. So we did not the most goodest, but not the worst Goodest. Yeah. Not the worst goodest at all. For sure. Yeah. So I, I'll give it a, I'll give like a B B B minus just on size of the stage. And, uh, so yeah, we, we get through with the, uh, with the entire day we played the show. That crowd was rowdy. I mean, they were up, they they were standing up. People were yelling at each other to sit down, stand up, all left and right.
Speaker 2 00:13:29 You had every, he had one guy up in the front. Uh, I was, I was gonna bring, I was gonna bring this up. This would be a, uh, we, we could talk like fan of the week, fan, fan of the week. That's a cool idea. I like that. The, the most drunkest guy DJ made the Travis trip shows. We talk about him. DJ was the dude hollering fuck my life. And, uh, I wanna hear something loud. I wanna hear something loud. You had that guy last week and so this week you're looking at the stage. He's right on the front, right over in front of our other guitar tech. Shout out Bud Phillips, one of my favorite people. Woo. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Uh, he's down in the front and before the show starts, he's already, like, Travis has got like some super old school. Uh, there's like old rock, old country on a playlist, like playlist before the show.
Speaker 2 00:14:10 The good stuff. Yeah, man. And he is, he's already lit singing into his, uh, beer bottle, just getting at it. And uh, I'd actually pointed him out to like Terry and Caleb. I was like, dude, look at this guy right here. <laugh>. So he's just obviously having himself a time. Travis does his little acoustic set in the center. I come over, uh, to where Bud's world is and that's where I come get the chair and all that. So I'm standing like right in front of the guy. He, Travis is doing his acoustic thing and this dude is singing louder than Travis trip. <laugh>. I can hear him over Travis trip. I, I have my ear. I'm, I'm right under a speaker. I have my ears in and I can hear this dude. And he's right over, he right in front of the audience. Mike too.
Speaker 2 00:14:51 Yeah, he's right there. He's dead. Dead in front of it. And Travis does a little different thing at the end of anymore like, not typical. And he does the normal anymore. So you just hear this guy singing the last words of anymore before Travis, you know, sings his part. And he's got his woman next to him and their legs are intertwined and he's rubbing all up over all her and stuff. I was like, oh, this dude is having the time of his life right now. So he's the drunk of the week. Yeah, the drunk of the week. <laugh>. Yeah. And then Caleb was the drunk of the week after that. <laugh>. Oh yeah. Absolutely. So the show gets over with and, uh, so since it's a double header, we had the, the next day as well. Absolutely nothing to do. Yeah. We just get done with the show.
Speaker 2 00:15:30 We make sure that Travis gets back to his bus. All right. And then once he's back there, we pretty much were just like, okay, reset the stage, make sure it's clear for the opener the next day. And that's it. After that, we all just got started drinking. Uh, shut up. Was was pink rattlesnake things? Oh yeah, there was a, uh, an after party. So this place has what they call the New Barn, which is what we played, which is a newer building with a newer stage. They have this other spot that's more their traditional old barn. It is a barn, what they call it. It's a barn. It straight up is a barn. It's a big open room. This other place that we were playing was a good theater. I mean it had seats and everything. This other spot, straight up barn, hardwood floors, hardwood walls, everything we get over there.
Speaker 2 00:16:12 And, um, a buddy of ours are someone we know at least Jason Cross was playing. Um, Alison, my girlfriends booked him for a couple things. Jason and, uh, Jason was playing. We had no clue. So we walk in, we're just like, oh shit, that's Jason. Like, that's cool. So he is out there just playing, going to town. We have, uh, Travis's wife, um, Teresa, she was, uh, she came over there. Uh, his daughter Tyler opened up for us. So Tyler Reese went over there too. Terrin was there, Terry crew was there, and his son and tour manager Bud, me, Caleb, Derek, our lighting guy, Jeff, everybody. Travis Wede bus driver Wendell was there cuz it was Wendell's birthday week this week. Happy birthday, Wendell once again. Uh, so the entire crew goes over there and we just decide that today is the day we're gonna lose our minds today and leave it all out.
Speaker 2 00:17:02 And so yeah, Jeff got us these rattlesnake pink drinks. I mean, it, it was, it looked like a pink lemonade when he handed it to us. I was like, I don't know what this is, but it tasted good. It yeah, it did. They said there was tequila in it, there was a lot of something in it. I'm just not sure what. Yeah. Drank that super quick. Then somebody started drinking out. It's like moonshine, moonshine drink. Bud goes up to the bar, and I'm not joking, the bar is the size of this table right here with just a couple people just chilling there. That's the, that's the degenerate type place we're talking about. We love, we love that. But I'm just saying like, this is, this is what I'm talking about. This lady, he buys a couple of these moonshine shots and I'm like, holy. Their tastes just absolutely incredible.
Speaker 2 00:17:42 And, uh, the, so that was like pretty late in the night. And then the bar closes at like 2:00 AM They turn the lights, lights on, you know, whatever. Well, they, everybody's getting out, but like all of our crews still hanging in there. Oh, you're skipping a very good, you're skipping a very important detail. I know, I know. I'm just talking <laugh>. You, you brought up the moonshine shots. So then we'll then, uh, so I'm gonna tell this, then you can tell that. Ah, all right. We go see. But this lady comes out and, you know, like the little, uh, water dispenser things that like filters water. She comes out from behind the bar and just has this thing full of these moonshine that moonshine drink. What a blessing. So she just starts pouring 'em in glasses and everybody partakes in this. Oh yeah. Uh, moonshine drinking.
Speaker 2 00:18:21 And that's pretty much what ended of the night right there. Yeah, we, uh, in the, in the middle of it, we were, like I said, been drinking plenty little bit during the show and then after the show was done, just did not stop. So we're in there and, uh, Tyler Reese gets asked to dance by this kid. And I'm from Texas, so I got a very high standard for what you should be doing when you're on a dance floor. This kid asked her to dance and suddenly his two little buddies are over there filming them. As this kid is getting led by Tyler Reese. He's walking backwards, <laugh> trying to act like he knows how to dance and he's just swaying back and forth. So I'm just over there giving him hell because I love to two step, I've taught my girlfriend how to now, so that way we can go out there and do it.
Speaker 2 00:19:07 So will you teach me how I will Absolutely. He'll be very romantic at Key West actually, during, during the, during, uh, some, like, some really good show. We gotta get out here. A karaoke party. That'd be great. There it is. That'd be great. Um, so I end up just saying screw it. I obviously, I've got, I've got Allison, so I'm not gonna ask anybody random to dance. And so I've done this before at Live Oak. Once I go out and grab a bar stool and just start taking it around and dancing with it and acting like I'm having a good old time. I'm twirling the damn thing in one hand and spinning it around and just, I mean, circling the dance for it, 90 miles an hour, two stepping the whole time. And that'll let the chair lead for a second. And I go backwards.
Speaker 2 00:19:48 It's just, I'm just out there having the time of my life. How exactly do you let the chair lead? You just put the chair in front of you and you just walk backwards and so the chair's leading now. Okay. Chairs are good leaders as long as you're a good follower. Okay. But we let that, I, I went out there. I assume since you had the two legs you were the leader. Always. But, you know, well, the chair has four legs, so it's got like two on me, but they're stationary either way. I mean, if I, if I get drunk enough, mine are gonna be stationary. <laugh> in a horizontal position. <laugh> mine quiver. Yeah. So I get that chair out there and I get back over and I'm laughing. I'm outta breath. And Theresa comes up to me and she says, I have never two step before and you actually know how can you teach me?
Speaker 2 00:20:26 I was like, heck yeah. So I took Theresa out of the dance floor. We danced for one song, Tyler Reese Videoed, Caleb Tyler Reese videoed it and Dawson's exact words were, that's one drunk bastard right there. <laugh>. She put that online. So she with you saying it? Yeah. Yeah. That was like the quote and put the quote tag Dawson in Tag Dawson and me in there. That was great. So it was a great time. Then, uh, I went up and took over the dj, uh, the DJ booth, the guys, we end up asking for enough requests. I think the dude's like, you just wanna do it <laugh>. Yeah. So I get up there and there's a video that Theresa took of me up there dancing away, just being hammered up there, DJing the whole thing. I played Charlie Daniels a little Shenandoah. I
Speaker 3 00:21:06 Love all those.
Speaker 2 00:21:07 It was a great time, man. I, we, and then of course my, I dt know if the camera can see this, but that's a screenshot. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Of Caleb. Oh yeah, man, that is one drunk s sob. Right? That's a drunk bastard. <laugh> <laugh>. So, uh, yeah, we get, we we do all that. And, uh, me and Dawson, uh, if, if you ever play Hank Williams Jrs, uh, feeling better, me and Dawson are gonna lose our minds and go to town. Greatest song of all time. We were singing that up at the front and, uh, debatable,
Speaker 3 00:21:35 Debatable,
Speaker 2 00:21:36 Man. It was, it was such a good time. Can't debate it. Such a good time up. Waking up the next morning at 11. Watch the experience. I never sleep that late. I woke up in a panic like, where the heck am I, I'm in my hotel room. It, it was wild. I had so much fun. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I hope we go back there again next year. I feel like we probably will. And it's always a double header too. It was last year for the acoustic show. It was this year for the full band. Great times, ma'am. Oh, I don't think I'm over it yet, but I'm just excited to be there for it.
Speaker 3 00:22:06 Well, you better get over it cuz we're about to get under Key West. Ooh.
Speaker 2 00:22:11 Cannot wait. Is it gonna be so much fun? Oh. Uh, so yeah, that was what we were, uh, that's what we were all up to. It was a great time. I enjoyed the weekend. Um, but that's, that, that's, I think that's enough about ourselves for the one, for one, for one segment, because probably So we have in our possession a little gift box here that we need to open in honor of the, uh, six car being fastest in practice, fastest
Speaker 3 00:22:37 In practice. And
Speaker 2 00:22:37 Me wearing this RFK sweatshirt
Speaker 3 00:22:40 Trying to be the sweatshirt at practice.
Speaker 2 00:22:42 Hell yeah. You wanna be the best at practice. Yeah. Because that means you're probably gonna be the best in the game. Sorry, that's my pink coffee cup there. It's true.

Speaker 3 00:23:32 We're getting like sponsorship shit happening right now. Heck
Speaker 2 00:23:34 Yeah. He, uh, sponsored by rfk. Yeah. Yeah. He gets us into plenty of races and sends us stuff like this. He's a good dude, man. So we're gonna open this up and kind of take a look at what, uh, what what, uh, Brandon sent us. And so to start off, I see a few hats on top here. Ooh. All right. So first off, we gotta say Bass Pro shops red, white and Blue America. And that is a winning hat. That's definitely from Bristol last year when he Bristol, when Chris Fisher washer one. Yep. Heck yeah. It's got the date on it, on the back and all that's, that is super
Speaker 3 00:24:07 Cool. I don't know this, but I love America. I just think it's the greatest country in the world. Dude,
Speaker 2 00:24:10 That's your love. That's the hat right there. Love there. That's a good hat. That's the hat. And it's got the flag on the under bill. Poor America. I didn't even notice that until just right now. Well, listen,
Speaker 3 00:24:18 When you guys are done picking stuff, I'll, I'll take one. Hey,
Speaker 2 00:24:22 We, well, we got, this is my favorite right here. The King's Hawaiian. Shout out to Denny Hamlin and the Porta potty right here. This is Brad Klowski. Favorite sponsor of the year. Smells like King's Hawaiian. That's my favorite. Smells like King's Hawaiian Rolls in here. Hell yeah. The RFK on the side. That's a dawon one. That's
Speaker 3 00:24:36 Pretty neat. Toss it to Dawson.
Speaker 2 00:24:37 That is a Dawson One
Speaker 3 00:24:40 Premium.
Speaker 2 00:24:40 Dang. That was a hell of a toss. And I'm probably like an idiot matching RFK hats black and white at the rfk uh, racing logo. Take
Speaker 3 00:24:50 This. I'll take one of them.
Speaker 2 00:24:51 Ooh, there you go. Here
Speaker 3 00:24:53 Premium.
Speaker 2 00:24:53 One second. I'm gonna change into this one real quick. Let's see how this looks. We're doing the hat dance, what they do in Victory Lane. The hat dance. Yes. Dun

Speaker 2 00:25:02 Who's taking the pictures? Now y'all have to take off my, that's the
Speaker 3 00:25:06 Hat dance.
Speaker 2 00:25:06 That's Aona 500.
Speaker 3 00:25:09 My
Speaker 2 00:25:10 Head's pretty 1994 Sterling Marlon hat. They'll look good in this, uh, King's Wine house. Dude, you look great. You look like you're ready for the, you look like you're ready to bring the easiest dish to Thanksgiving right now. Dude, I straight up look like I'm a PR guy for Rosh right now. Look at I'm just like track ready. Hey,
Speaker 3 00:25:25 I'll take it.
Speaker 2 00:25:26 Yeah, it is really nice.
Speaker 3 00:25:27 By the way, if you like nascar, send us free stuff. We'll take it. We'll give you the address. Mar
Speaker 2 00:25:32 <laugh>. Man, I would never argue with that. <laugh>. Ah, thank you man. Yeah, you look, you just won Bristol. You look
Speaker 3 00:25:40 Caleb con rowdy right now.
Speaker 2 00:25:41 I look like I am ready to take it 190 miles into the miles an hour into the corner right now.
Speaker 3 00:25:45 Maybe 1 92. Dude, if
Speaker 2 00:25:47 You're really well, dude, if you're going one 90 bristle, you are Stu boy <laugh>. I guess this is a Bristol rat. So maybe going about 120. Yeah, about one 30 in the corner maybe. Something like that. What
Speaker 3 00:26:00 Again?
Speaker 2 00:26:00 What if you go fast though, dude, set the all time record going at 1 92 at Bristol. Man. Hey man, you can go as fast as you want in the corner if you ain't trying to make the corner <laugh> trying to hit that outside ball by God. <laugh>. So, uh, next up, I see some cruise shirts down in here. Uh, we're done with the hats now. So cruise shirts, these are our favorite thing in the world. There we go. That is sick. Brand new. Oh, that's sick. It's a, uh, so sos.com. Uh, yellow. I looks like
Speaker 3 00:26:26 It's for skinny people.
Speaker 2 00:26:28 It's it's definitely a large, it's definitely for skinny people. Yep. Uh, that is cool as heck. That's like yellow and black. You could wear that to a Nashville soccer club game. I couldn't and fit right in. It
Speaker 3 00:26:37 Would fit on my one leg.
Speaker 2 00:26:38 <laugh> on my one leg. Well then that means you can wear two of them. Yeah. At the same time. That's true. Uh, next up, oh, we got a good old classic Fifth third Bank. Ooh, that is Caleb's actual bank. That is actually the bank that I use. I might have to go ahead and pre-claim this one. Yes, that's yours. Pre-claim it since, uh, since they, uh, claimed they have charged me so much interest in the past. It's about time I start wrapping them. Yeah, it's a good time. Premium. Heck yeah. That's really cool. I like that one. That blue is really cool,
Speaker 3 00:27:04 Man. They really hooked y'all up.
Speaker 2 00:27:05 Heck they did, man, this is my favorite right here. This is cool. This is cool. That one's motor oil. Yes, sir. Oh, Castrol. Castrol is one of my favorite best. Like my favorite cars they have on the track. Man, that looks great. That is premium. Good old Castrol logo. Good looking man. You can't mess up Castro, Valvoline or tied anything. They, they say you can't mess up motor oil schemes. You really can't. Honestly, if you do, it's true. You're probably Dollar General Motor Oil.
Speaker 3 00:27:30 Yeah. I love a Dollar General though.
Speaker 4 00:27:32 Yep.
Speaker 3 00:27:34 <laugh>
Speaker 2 00:27:35 Man, these are great. I know y'all introduce me to the wrong buttons here. <laugh>.
Speaker 3 00:27:40 Wait till we put the Ricky Bobby sings on there. Ooh,
Speaker 2 00:27:43 Help me out. Oprah Winfrey. Love that money. <laugh>. So shout out rfk Brandon. Thank you very much. We'll be wearing these. Yeah, I won't,
Speaker 3 00:27:51 But I'll be wearing this
Speaker 2 00:27:52 Luxurious hat. Oh man, the hat looks good on you hat. It does. I love that. Oh, premium. I like that a lot. Yeah. Red, white and blue. So yeah, I think we're good to, we're uh, we're good to go. We're hooked up for the Nashville race now. Oh, easily. Okay. I can at least record like five more podcasts now without having to wear the same outfit twice. Yeah. Right. That, that makes great me a crew shirt. Um, size now we have probably, how many of you have three or four? Well, I've got three as it sits. And now if I'm claiming that fifth, third one, that'll be four about, I got about six in my box. So plus three us. Well, we got, we got like 13 Yeah. Or so. I love this. That's a lot of crew shirts. I I know I'm about to have to raid that box you're talking about since you can't fit in some of 'em since they're like all sorts of random sizes. Yeah. The ones the, they're, there's like some mediums in there. Oh, how you gonna do a good olds medium? Man, I'll, I'll I'll get in there like a piece of sausage in a cason. Yeah. I
Speaker 3 00:28:43 Haven't been a medium since freshman year. High school.
Speaker 2 00:28:45 Yeah. For real. I didn't think I was a medium in freshman year high school. <laugh>. I think last time I was in a medium was back when I was like eighth. Eighth grade. Junior high stuff Right there. Big, big large guy since then. <laugh>. Hell, right. Uh, but yeah, so, uh, like, like Dawson said, thank you Brandon. We really appreciate it. Uh, good dude. Can't wait to get you out to another show. Uh, if we have another one in North Carolina, it's closer to Charlotte. We're gonna have to hit him up. Let 'em know. Come on out. Yes, sir. All right. On to Darlington. I mean, Dover, not Darlington. Oh man. Dover only. I love Darlington, but unfortunately we had a Dover race darlings happening. Arlington also only like two weeks away, so I'm not far. I can't wait. It's Dover, Kansas Darlington. So nice. It's gonna be good, but Darlington Damn Dover.
Speaker 2 00:29:30 I keep screwing this out. Wow. Dover. All right. You're no longer allowed to announce segments anymore for the next like five minutes. We are recording this before the cup race at Dover. It even starts because of Key West and rain. And rain. Yes. And all the things rain. So the race is actually starting 1110 Nashville Time. It is 9 41 Nashville time now. So give your best song about Rain. Ready Go. Uh, song songs about rain. Rain. Yeah, that's, yeah. Look at that. We both exactly what I would say. I'm gonna go blame it on the rain million. Gary Allen. Dang. I'll go album cut Raining you, Brad Paisley. Look it up if you don't know it. Um, so, uh, yeah, don't, uh, dang it. You got me doing it too. Dover got rained down, doubled Ys, man. It was, uh, doubled. It was pretty much all day of rain yesterday.
Speaker 2 00:30:16 So we, uh, they canceled it early, early. So they did, we, uh, actually because of the rain out, me and Allison took a lot longer driving home, stopped at Bucky's, got a Hawaiian shirt for Key West. So we've spent the day just kind of coming home a little bit slower, especially since we had such a great time. Uh, but yeah, so the only thing we've seen so far for Dover that we didn't talk about last week because it hadn't happened yet, was practice. And that was the only thing that they've done so far is get out on the track for practice. We're talking back and the Xfinity we're talking practice, they had that race. They, they Xfinity did up. Yes, we did have the Xfinity Race. Uh, but if we're talking Cup, the practice came out. Uh, Brad Klowski, like you mentioned, was fastest in practice, which was a surprise.
Speaker 2 00:30:57 I didn't see that one coming. I thought he might be doing all right there. I mean, it's a similar shape to Bristol. I know it's a very different racetrack, but it definitely makes sense why he'd be good there. Um, and he did a, he did a phenomenal job and then pretty much every other person that we mentioned, uh, last week on the pod is now your betting favorite. We got the Kyle Larson, the William Byer and the Chase Elliot. And we got Denny Hamlin. That's like And Bowman is broken. Yeah, Bowman is broken. We, uh, we called Hendrick to be a good, to be a good race team. We called Denny Hamlin to be good and that seems to be what everybody's agreeing with in Vegas. So we're, uh, Josh Barry still in for the 48 Bowman, uh, broke his back. Yeah. In a sprint car race.
Speaker 2 00:31:37 Wow. Fractured, I think it was like three or four vertebrae. Yeah. So he is missing the same number of weeks now. Three or four. Yeah. Not good. No, that's bad. Bad. And get well soon, Bowman. Yeah, absolutely. Because I can't imagine how bad that's gotta hurt. He, I mean when he walked away from the wreck, you wouldn't be able to tell that that was going on. I mean, he, he looked ginger, don't get me wrong, but anybody would coming outta that car, I did not see it being fractured vertebrae. Yeah. I had three bets on Bowman before that and then that happened and they all got voided. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> mm-hmm. <affirmative>. So I just put that money on Josh Barry. Yeah. <laugh> and Josh Barry who's gonna be in the 48. Yeah. Filling in the 48. Me and Dawson are at two very different ends of like the confidence spectrum with Josh Barry.
Speaker 2 00:32:16 And I think we both have really good reasons for why we, why we're there. I know for me, I'm looking at it as he did just come outta driving Chase Elliot's car for him filling in. So he is already done that role for a while for the same team that he's doing it for Now. The one thing that I'm a little worried about is going to a different number, different crew chief, different track, different setups and different things like that. They've gotta gotta kind of work through. Um, Dawson, you seem to be like you're really high on him. I still don't have the full confidence. I put down a bet because of Dawson's confidence. I did put a top five Josh Berry bet down. He was at plus 400. So I said, why not? I mean, two bucks, take it or leave it if he, if it wins and get 10.
Speaker 2 00:32:56 And I'm just, I don't have that same confidence in his ability to just go out there because I know he did get a couple top fives. One of 'em was definitely due to a, a really good pitch strategy on the crew. And I've, you've gotta give the driver credit. He did hold off the field and keep it up there in the top two. But I don't know, it just seems like it, it's harder for me to get behind somebody that's filling in for a team. Uh, no matter the experience level. I just, I I tend to fade him a little bit and not sure about it. But you're pretty high on him. Yeah. I think Josh Barry's a talented sob. I agree with that. I do agree with that. He ran great in the nine car, the 48, just his teammate. He said an interview, he's like, he felt like I'm just in the nine car again.
Speaker 2 00:33:34 He said, it feels great. Feels the same. Josh Barry won at Dover last year. He's great at Dover. I would almost guarantee he's a top 10 Locke. They don't have top 10 bets, but I have him as a top five and uh, win. So I'm on the Josh Barry train. Yeah, I've been with Josh Barry train for a long time though, so might as well keep it rolling for sure. I mean, I, I totally see where you're coming from. I mean, the dude's got a national title on the late models. He's got wins and Xfinity already. He's got full-time rival junior Motorsport. Supposedly he is got a full-time cup ride next year is the rumor floating around, but we'll see. Yeah, it's, I don't know with who, it's awful early for silly season rumors to be coming out, but they're already coming out. You know, it's, it's, it's a strange year all the way around for Hendrix.
Speaker 2 00:34:16 You don't really see anything coming. Everybody keeps talking about like, should they allow drivers to do stuff outside of NASCAR because of injuries like this? And honestly, anybody with that opinion, I don't, I don't understand it. I don't get it. I saw the NASCAR report guy, he, he mentioned something on Twitter about, or on Facebook about how he was super against, uh, drivers doing stuff outside the car. Who did, uh, the guy that NASCAR report, uh, he's got an American flag as his little profile picture on Facebook. I I follow him. I see a lot of his stuff. A lot of times. He's got some great opinions. He, he does say some stuff like super early, so he's really on it. I love looking at his stuff. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, so don't get me wrong, I just disagree with him on this one issue. Um, I mean these are grown ass men.
Speaker 2 00:35:02 They're race car drivers through and through. I I just do not understand people with the opinion of like, we gotta keep them outta the car. I mean, you're a big Kyle Larson guy, so I feel like you're right on the same exact train with me of why would you limit your race car driver's ability to go out there and live their damn lives? They wanna do this, let 'em do it. They understand the risks that they're taking and I know that the, that their teams are counting on 'em. Don't get me wrong, I get that the teams are paying them a lot of money and that money. Yeah, absolutely. We love that money. But the fans, they don't just have one type of fan. They've got dirt track fans, they got NASCAR fans, they got asphalt fans, they got fans all over the place that they're trying to go out there and give their fans a show.
Speaker 2 00:35:46 They're trying to show up for their fans. They're trying to do something that they love. Even beyond the fans. They don't, that's not the only reason they live. Yeah. And I think a lot of these people that are big NASCAR fans but don't watch any other forms of racing are really quick to jump onto that train of they should just tell them that they can't race so they don't get injured. And it's like, man, you can't, I just can't imagine showing up to my job and them telling me like, Hey man, every Monday morning you come in, you're a little slow, you're a little hungover from watching that race. You're gonna have to stop watching NASCAR <laugh>. Is that be the same thing as them telling me something like that? I just do not understand that that philosophy. And I say if you want a race, go out there and race your team owner's definitely going to have to take that into consideration when they're signing some team owner contract.
Speaker 2 00:36:30 Don't let 'em do that though. Like Joe Gibbs, he doesn't let his guys run anything else. Uh, I'm, I'm big on the opinion of if like those, those guys going and racing other series, like whether it be sprint cars, late models, whether it be going down in the Bush series or trucks. Like I've heard a million drivers say they feel like that makes them better. Like being, the more seat time the better it makes 'em, I'm a, I'm a little weird on like, you know, the whole going snowboarding thing, jumping out of airplanes, like stuff like that's a little weird. I don't really know where I sit with that, but Oh, being, being in a race car train. Being in a race car. Like I don't, you're a race car driver, you know? Yeah. Race wherever you wanna race. No, Joe, like I said, Joe Gibbs doesn't let Bell Bell's a big sprint car driver too.
Speaker 2 00:37:20 Super talented. Um, he doesn't let, he doesn't let him run sprint cars. Uh, I heard Ricky Stonehouse in the interview just, uh, yesterday while the rain was coming down. He was like, Jack Rosh when he first signed with, uh, with him back in like oh 7 0 8, wouldn't let him race anymore. And he was like, I felt like I was a better race car driver and I had more of an edge in the cup car when I was racing sprint cars. And so now he races for different team. So him, he does, he owns a sprint car team, so he is racing sprint cars again now, like I said, like I feel like I lost that edge. Yeah, makes sense. Well, I mean, I get why Team Motors want to protect their investment. Don't get me wrong. I completely understand the reasoning behind why they would want to do that.
Speaker 2 00:38:00 And I'm okay with certain teams deciding that that's the way that they want their drivers to operate as a driver. They have the opportunity to say yes to that. Or they could go on and say like, you know what, I've got an offer over here that says that I can go do all the stuff that I want and they may be paying me a little bit less, but I'd rather go do that and be able to do the stuff that I wanna do than come over here and get protected. I mean it's, it, the drivers would have a choice. The team owners have a choice, but fans that call out any team that lets their drivers do anything they want, it's their prerogative. They have the, they have the decision making. And honestly, like as a fan, I would rather see my driver go out there and try to get as much experience as possible if that's what they want.
Speaker 2 00:38:40 And so I'm just, I'm so on board that train, I just can't say it highly enough that I think it's a, I think it's a dumb argument to make that you should always limit a driver. I think the driver should have a choice. Unless they sign up with a team that doesn't give him one, then that's their own decision for going there. That's their decision. Yeah. Yep. Bell might end up leaving Joe Gibbs one day because he wants to go race at Stuart Hoss where he can go run sprint cars. Absolutely. Stuff like that. Like it's, it's, it's just part of it. Like, but they know, I mean you just, I mean it's a known fact. Joe Gibbs, you're not gonna race anything other than cup cars or bus cars or trucks. Yeah. That's just is what it is. And you're at a top tier team while you're doing it.
Speaker 2 00:39:15 So you know what? You paid a lot of money so they got great simulators and great other things that can what you wanna do. So yeah, I guess somebody should go out there and tell Denny Hamlin to stop playing pickleball cuz he keeps talking about how it hurts his shoulder and it gets his knees wore out. I do have a bad shoulder too. Nobody's saying that. Are they <laugh> <laugh>. All right, let's talk about the Xfinity race. Yeah, absolutely. Uh, Ryan Truex dominated. Yeah, cool to see him get the win. I know you're not the biggest Ryan Truex guy, which is, I don't know why. I'm just not like, he just doesn't do much. I'll tell you, I I brought this up the other day. Oh. But I'll tell you exactly why this man is not a Ryan Truex favorite, uh, Ryan Truex fan. At the beginning of the year when I introduced Dawson to NASCAR bedding, we went to the head-to-head section.
Speaker 2 00:39:57 I think it was either in Fontana or Phoenix. I mean, it was early. Yeah. I couldn't tell you early in the year. Two bets in a row, uh, two weekends in a row. Sheldon Creed versus Ryan Truk. I wanna say it was the same bet both times. If it wasn't, it was somebody very similar to a, uh, Sheldon Creed. Yeah. I can't remember in Xfinity 19 car was Unsponsored did not have a sponsor on the hood. And Ryan Truex has not had a history of running great. Not that he's been in cars that do run great, but it's just not expected for him to go out there and do top fives and top tens and stuff like that. He's more of at, at his history had been more of like a top 15 was a good day kind of guy. And he finally gets out there and he comes out and he just skunks Sheldon Creed.
Speaker 2 00:40:46 And so all these opinions that we had on the guy, we put that bet down because of that lost it. Sheldon Creed did not beat him that weekend and then the next one, so he said, let's just do it again next week. Well, the next one, Sheldon Creed would've beat him. He had, uh, something happened on Pit Road, sped something and then drove back up. Ryan Truk finished second Sheldon Crane, finished third. Third, dang damn. So two weeks in a row we got skunked on bets due to Ryan Truex. And then here we go. We come to Dover. He's got a sponsor on the hood. Um, he's, he's had a sponsor the whole time he's been Toyota sponsored every car he is had this year. Gotcha. I thought there was a, I thought there was a couple races that he wasn't sponsored. No, he they've had Toyota on that car.
Speaker 2 00:41:24 They had a mistake. Black strap on the car this weekend was the only difference. Yeah, well it, it looked all right. And he, he, he went out there and it looks even better that he pretty much, much ran in first the whole race. And honestly, I, as much as we've been fading, Ryan Truex, it's becoming harder and harder every week. He's only got, got two more races left this year though. So does he really? I haven't, I haven't been, been paying attention to his whole, like he's only signed, he's only signed up for six or like, he's only signed for six races by Joe Gibbs. Well, I mean, so that the 19 car's been like a rotating, they call it like an all-star car or something. I don't know. So is it all the old guys or like, how's it work? It's just whoever, I mean they're like, there's the same thing with colleagues dealing with a 10 10 team to Kyle Bus.
Speaker 2 00:42:06 Yeah. It's just like, they just put different guys in there. Yeah. We could get Ricky Bobby in there for one. Probably could. Probably, yeah. Right. Yeah. But yeah, he could put, he's already fit full a a, a Puma in the back of the car. Oh, the Puma would get in there <laugh>. Absolutely. But he's already done four. Got a win. He's been in the top five, got two more left. Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised to see him full-time in the 19 next year. Absolutely. I mean it's, it's to the point now where I'm almost tempted to put him down as a top five every single week because he has been that good at every single racetrack they've gone to. Hell yeah. Ryan Trus on the, on the biggest comeback tour of all time. They were talking about how when he was racing trucks, he was racing next to, uh, Ricky Stenhouse, Corey 10 years ago.
Speaker 2 00:42:47 Yeah. Racing with all these guys that are now in the Cup series. And Ryan Truk has not quite had the same trajectory. He's now fighting his life off for rides in the Xfinity series. And I think he's earning one. I think he really is earning one. I'm not, uh, I'm not ready to say I'm a Ryan TRX fan yet, but I will say that I would not be making those same matchup head-to-head bets. I would definitely be starting to flip those opinions on where I thought he'd be running. Hell yeah. So sir, it's a, it's really cool to see something like that go down. Uh, other than other than him though, mean there was really much going on other than our next segment. But yeah, he was, uh, it was a really quiet race and we were talking about it during it, it's like, it's not, it's a, it's not a bad race.
Speaker 2 00:43:29 Lots of green flags, uh, lots of green flag runs, long runs. That's what you want, baby. Almost stage three. If it wasn't for that very first, it was like one spin within the first like five, 10 laps, stage three starting, and after that it was back to green again. Yeah. There was not many natural cautions. Yeah, it was wild. I enjoyed it for what it was. Yeah. It was, it was a quiet, normal old NASCAR Dover race even came down to a little bit of fuel knowledge at the end with, uh, what was it, creed and, uh, Riley Herps staying out super late. They lasted all the way till like 12 to go. Yeah. Something like that. Sheldon, uh, if he would've spun like 10 laps later, probably had the race winning strategy by doing that. For sure. He, uh, but you can't, you never know with cautions and such that could have all changed it. But, uh, when creeds was he the caution? Uh, I, or there was, I can't remember. I couldn't recall. I was so hungover from the, uh, experience he's spun, had to pit, you know, tick tires, whatever. But, uh, another caution in that brings up our favorite segment of the week, our favorite segment of the week, hack of the week. Hack of the week.
Speaker 2 00:44:35 Oh, I had to hit that one again. Oh, we had there we, we were iffy on like if we should do it without watching the cup race, but it is such a dumb move. It was like perfect. We'll call it bush ray or we'll call this one this and then there might be, since we have a race and then all the races next week Kansas, there might be two, there might be two Hess of the way, depending on if something crazy happens today. But the 24 car, correct? Yes. 24 car. The 24 car comes off the corner and just drives through the left rear of Parker Kligerman. And the driver of the 24th car is Corey Heim this week's hack of the week. Absolutely. You've won yourself the award. No one wants, but you gotta earn the hard way. He's gotta, he's gotta sign the uh, championship belt or whatever we get.
Speaker 2 00:45:22 We do decide to get, we're still deciding on what we're gonna make this, uh, this trophy look like. So y'all, y'all hang with us. Eventually we're gonna have an actual hack of the week trophy. Yeah. But he just comes up off the corner, gets in the left rear of Parker doesn't let off and just drives straight through him. Doesn't give him a chance to correct it. Nothing. Just drives through him. 48. Now's the inside wall. I'm a big Parker clear man guy. He's also sponsored by Nashville, Scott Borchetta, all that good stuff. That also Right. Team owner Scott Borchetta. And uh, he was one of the dash for cash drivers too. So he had a chance to win a hundred thousand dollars this week. Yeah. And he even said it best himself. He was like, I know we weren't that great but we had a chance to work on this car and make it actually do something.
Speaker 2 00:46:03 It happened pretty early. He looked, yeah, he looked back up at the screen. He is like, look, all the other guys that we're with aren't doing good either because the very, I think Cole Custer or ah, I can't remember, Cole Custer ended up winning it. Cole Custer ended up winning it. He only finished like seventh or something. I wanna say Creed at the time was the top dash for Cash Driver win. Parker got taken out and I don't even think he was in the top 10. If he was, it was 10th. And so he was like even our other guys that are in this dash for cash award to get the a hundred thousand dollars to, for finishing the best out of the four drivers. That's what the dash for cash is. They take the top four Xfinity series regular season drivers and they say y'all four are racing each other next week no matter where you all finish, whoever finishes best outta y'all four gets a hundred thousand dollars bonus from Xfinity.
Speaker 2 00:46:46 And Parker was in the running for that. Could have gotten it ended up missing out on his chance because the 24 comes off the corner on the low end, gets loose, but instead of just trying to save his car, I don't even know if I call it getting loose leans on the 48 right in his left. Rearer spins about, hits the inside wall. Big impact crushed the nose in and the rear didn't look, did not look fun at all. So of course we had even, uh, double A Adam Alexander, he gets on the b uh, onto the broadcast and says, man, that's two, that's two races in the last three we've had the bird flowing because Parker waited for him to come back around and gave him the one finger salute. Told her he was number one. Yeah. And so that was uh, that was kind of wild to watch.
Speaker 2 00:47:31 I just couldn't believe it was happening and just watching somebody do something that like that and it was Corey Heim's Xfinity series debut. That's how we're going. Oh, was it really? That's how he's starting off his Xfinity series career is wrecking Parker Klingman and getting flipped off. So I had no idea it was his debut. But that's incredible. That is a rough way to start, man. That is, it's a rough way to Happy week to First Race ever in expend. Ah man. You know what, like I say, it's the award you never want, but you gotta earn the hard way. You gotta do it on your own. And he went out there and did it. So trade and paint I reckon might as well get, we'll bring it up to it since we're talking to We missed it. We missed it last week. I don't, I I think we talked about the very first podcast brought it up.
Speaker 2 00:48:12 Yeah. Trade and Paint's gonna be our, you know, favorite race car of the week. I love it. Yeah. The love that Nick t came up with a name, trade and paint I love. It's such a great idea. We uh, we just real good at internet. We had 'em picked out last week. It was Harv's Real Tree car wasn't it though? No, it was the 20 ones Real Tree car. Mm-hmm. I knew it was Real Tree. Yes. I knew it was on Austin Hill was awesome. Blue camouflage, swirly looking deal. Oh like a, like a cool looking car sponsored by real tree. Uh, had it written down. Just didn't say it. So that, that was our trade and paint last week. Week. Whoa. Trade and paint this week me and Kayla both agree. Um, we both agree the seven degree agree. Degree. Degree. The seven degree deodorant car by Justin Alga.
Speaker 2 00:48:54 Yeah. Oh man. Great looking car. First time they put it on the screen, that was the first thing that came out of my mouth is, oh my God, that car looks good. They had the uh, they had the, they like the hood placement was like pushed down towards like the headlights, which I think looks great from the oncoming thing. You can see degree right across the nose. The check mark they gave room for that. Yeah, the check mark was the, this silver chrome color, which I guess is like their actual logo. Mm-hmm. So they mirrored that onto the seven on the side. So it was like a Chrome seven that matched the degree logo. Just kind of cool. I don't really, and it was maced too, so it looked like an actual tube of deodorant. Yeah. In in a way because it wasn't that shiny metallic color.
Speaker 2 00:49:34 A lot of other cars are. Yeah. So think that was a great trading paint this week. I don't really, none of cars are, they're all kind of the same shit. So it looks like Miles the monster could have picked that seven car up and rubbed its nose on its armpit and got you got a fresh smell and scent outta there. Hell yeah. And that brings up a, a funny story from the very first run of our year. Uh, Dawson got my deodorant, sends me a freaking text message, I'd barely been away. And he is like, Hey man, uh, when you send a runner out can you get me some deodorant <laugh>? Because that's part of my job is to handle runs and get people to and front places and buy stuff that we forget. So still Justin asked me for a tuba deodorant and so I sent the runner out and she gets 'em one and it's a degree deodorant too that we got still still have it in my work box.
Speaker 2 00:50:16 Just in for emergency situations. Yeah. Hell yeah. In case he forgets his deodorant at home while we're on stage. This man has a at the ready deodorant stick in the top drawer of the magoo box. Yeah. I'm a uh, have to have deodorant. I like having it the best. Yeah. Yeah. I have to have deodorant, I have to have floss floss, I have to have those two things flossy boy. Gotta have something to chew on. Yeah. So, so I just, that's just a funny one to bring up cuz it was just one of those goofy things where it's like ah, we haven't been at work for four months, so of course something is gonna get left and forgotten and it's gonna be a little slower than usual. But we managed to make it work first run shit, you know? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. So Kansas, that's next week's race.
Speaker 2 00:50:58 We're not in Kansas anymore. Not anymore Or yet. <laugh> Not yet. Not yet. And we won't be in Kansas anymore the next week after that. That's right. But for bets in Kansas, I'm pretty excited about, it's a mile and a half. Those are easier to pick and nail even though I am Mr. Short track Mile and a halfs are also pretty, pretty solid bedding. Yeah. Times mile and a halfs are definitely where your teams shine. Yeah, a lot. Your drivers are still important, don't get me wrong, but over the course of 400 laps your best teams, the cream rises to the crop for sure. I feel like the cream rises to the crop baby or the cream rises to the top. Goodness. The cream of the crop and the cream rises to the top. They do run, they do run the high line at Kansas and the guy we're about to talk about is a high wide and handsome kind of guy.
Speaker 2 00:51:41 I feel like, I don't know where they're gonna put him for odds sometimes his odds aren't always very high. But from the car that ran great here last year to what he did here last year, I think Tyler Reddicks got this race on Locke. I mean let's just be honest, he killed it last year in the eight. Mm-hmm <affirmative>, the car he drives this year won both races last year. Two different drivers. But that car with Kurt, Kurt Wallace, bub Wallace both won this race in 45 last year. And now Reddick who did great at Kansas had some tire issues and has ran great at Kansas Every time he is been there, he runs the wall. You can run the wall there, make time him. Those guys like him and Larson are going to run great. Yeah. Maybe even Christopher Bell has a better day than usual.
Speaker 2 00:52:23 I'm not calling him to win it, but I think he has a better day than usual. Yeah. It just depends on how Toyotas look with the Bell situation. Very, very true. But Reddick, same thing as Koda. I, even though he's a Toyota, he is going to be the class of the field. So I just don't know if him being at Toyota even matters. I could honestly see every bit of that coming true for sure. Um, and 2311 Outruns Joe Gibbs every, every week, so Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. I I definitely think 2311 is your team to watch for sure. Um, outside of that I think Hendricks, not necessarily as a whole, like I said, I'm still not the biggest Josh Berry Apologi to Larson's gonna do well Larson's definitely gonna do well. Okay. Chase is one at Kansas before I believe. Yeah. Chase is a mile and a half for Chase are not his strong suits.
Speaker 2 00:53:06 So he's another one that I'm not like crazy huge on. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure he has. I won't quote you on it, but I'm pretty sure he has. Uh, Larson for sure. I'm 100% down and depending on the car they bring for the 24, I could see him doing well too. So yeah, it all, I mean really for Hendrick it depends on what cars they bring and, and Larson's gonna shine regardless. So he, so I'm excited to see he is the one that I'm most like on board with for sure. Larson. Yeah. I'm excited to see where they put Reddick's odds. Yeah, I wonder I cuz I don't know if everybody's gonna be on that train cuz Red, I dunno. Everybody is gonna know what all you just said. Yeah, his his odd usually lower coda. I took him at Coda.
Speaker 2 00:53:41 I cuz I, yeah, I have another bedding thing I do with my dad and his friends. So I, I also have money on Reddick in a lot different ways, but I put money on Reddick at Coda. It didn't win me as much money as you won cuz you won everything at Coda, but hey, hey, hey, hey. All right. Uh, I won last week too. He freaking, he's just, I don't know, Reddick's just, yeah, I think he's gonna do well, but his odds are never high and so it could, would, could be like super big value if you can grab Reddick. It's something, you know, like plus a thousand or even maybe more than that. Uh, yeah. I mean even if it went down to like plus 600, I would still be pretty confident and putting But see that that's still like winning. That's like where they put, that's still pretty good.
Speaker 2 00:54:18 Well, I mean, yes, a lot of times you get those guys and it's like yeah, plus one 50 to one to plus 300 and it's like, what, why, why would I even put this money down right now? Well, I'm talking about for Cup though. Like Cup usually starts out at plus like, I haven't seen one lower in like 5 50, 600 for like winners. That's usually where like they put Larson, Byron, those guys. And so even if you get Reddick at that, you will win money. Yeah, but I'm saying if they can get Reddi, if you could, if maybe they have read like plus a thousand Yeah. Or more, then you're gonna be in making some real deal money. I know this is Dover and it's not Kansas, but right now Tyler Reddick's odds are sitting at plus 2,800 for winning. Yeah. Which is insane. I mean I, I think there's a great value in that alone.
Speaker 2 00:54:58 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, not that I'm calling him to win this race, but what's worth a dollar <laugh>, it'll get you 28 back. Yeah. I love dollar. So we'll see, we'll see what happens. But quote us now, Tyler Reddick. Yeah. High chance of winning at Kansas next week. And I don't think we can also forget about Kyle Bus. I he has not had a, he's not had the stellar results in between his wins that you'd necessarily expect. I mean he's had some really good finishes, but running, uh, during the races has not been in the main conversation, which is a, which is lower for Kyle Busch than usual. But the dude has two wins coming off a Talladega win. Uh, we'll see how he does it Dover here in a couple minutes. Um, and see where he finishes there. Hell Right. But once you get over to the, uh, once you get over to Kansas where the eight car, like you just said, ran extremely well last year, you got Kyle Busch who's ran at Kansas more than most anybody else in the field and I could see him doing pretty good and he's a Chevrolet same.
Speaker 2 00:55:54 So you and the eight car did phenomenal last year at Fontana and he came out and kicked ass at Fontana. So yeah, the eight Kyle bus could also definitely be, uh, he's a top three probably kind of guy. Yeah. You're a Bushman this week. Bushman this week. I'm a Reddick man this week. Right. I really am. Red Reddick. I I would say Reddick, Larson and Bush would probably, I think we even wrote that down, probably our top like top three picks if I Absolutely. With Reddick being number one though, I must say Woo. Yeah, I mean of course I'm still gonna put money down on Blaney for sure. <laugh> because that's always my, uh, you gotta go with your favorite man. No, no, I know, I know. We, uh, we, me and Dawson talked about this one time with our, uh, the very beginning of the year, very beginning of the year we took, uh, and talked about placing money on your favorite driver to win your personal favorite driver or just get a top five.
Speaker 2 00:56:45 Whatever you want to do, just make sure that you put money down if you're going to bet, put money down on your favorite driver because nothing is gonna piss you off more than losing a bet to your own driver winning. And be disappointed about your driver winning cuz you lost money doing it. At least make some money. Always make money on your favorite driver. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Yeah. And I would rather lose all, I'd rather lose money all year long betting on Blaney than to not bet on him ever and end up losing money to him the one time he wins. That's just the way you gotta look at it. Let's be honest though, if you're putting money on Blaney every week, you're gonna lose money. Damn.
Speaker 2 00:57:21 I'm just kidding. I really do like Blaney. I really do like Blaney, but Caleb, it's Caleb's favorite guy, so I have to give him shit. Yeah. I have to give him shit. We have a, uh, ongoing argument about, uh, how much we hate each other's driver. Not because we actually hate the driver, but just because the other person Cheers for him. Yeah. Premium. But I mean, fun looking at his finishes, I mean, he's, he's kind of, Blaney is a little all over the place. He's got plenty of top tens and a solid couple top fives. But honestly, Blaney at Kansas is kind of like throwing a dart at a dart board. You'll just hit whatever you hit and it probably won't be the bullseye, but it'll be fine. I'm cheering for him. I'm going for him. I'm wearing the shirt right now. Gosh dang it. I'm here. I'm ready. I wanna see a Blaney win. I'm, I've, we've been in the drought. It's been too long. I'm ready. It's like 56 races. Yeah, let's keep that count going please. It's like, should we just ride it behind my head? Everywhere? Oh, you said let's keep the count going please. I was being sarcastic. Okay. I was about to say I was I was gonna say, should I just start carving notches like a prison wall back here in the wood? That'd be great. It might be 57 after this week though. Ge.
Speaker 3 00:58:26 Oh
Speaker 2 00:58:27 Dang.
Speaker 3 00:58:27 Hz 57 baby.
Speaker 2 00:58:28 Let, I can't wait till your driver goes in a drought, man. I'm never gonna let you live that down. Jesus. All right guys, I think we're winding this down towards the end here. Yeah.
Speaker 3 00:58:37 Well I wanna thank you guys for uh, a making me wake up early this morning.

Uh, we're gonna probably head for a court on Tuesday. That'd be weird next week, uh, because we're all coming back on that Monday. And if you really think, oh, on Tuesday, yeah. My liver hurts on. Yeah, if you really think Tuesday's my birthday and I'm gonna be in Florida, so Yeah. So we're gonna have to figure out, we may have Dawson calling in. We may have a guest on, oh,
